  1. Just over 6 months after the surgery I wanted to give a final update. Final because I don't see how it could be any better, even though it is widely agreed results keep improving up to the one year mark. I couldn't be any happier. Everything is as Dr Bisanga said it would be. As well as the cosmetic improvements, my mental health has dramatically improved, thanks to all at the BHR clinic. The research I originally did concluded that Dr Bisanga was one of the best in the world at what he does. My experience over the last 6 months completely is the same.
  2. 3 Month update. Overall it's going very well. It appears many of the transplanted hairs at the hairline didn't fall out at all and just continued growing. A testament to the doctors skill I would say. Still quite light behind the hairline but fingers crossed. Looking forward to improvements in the next few months. Will update at the six month mark. Pics of both dry and wet hair.
  3. Hi guys, A quick one month update (one month 4 days to be precise). Everything is going as planned. Some redness in the recipient area and as advised by the lovely patient advisor at BHR, Emu oil is helping with that. The donor has completely healed and the original grafts are falling out, so it's the waiting game until month 3 I suppose. Will return with some updates then. A small side-note, the meds recommended by Dr. Bisanga seem to be filling out the crown with zero side effects.
  4. Two week update. Everything going well. Little redness in the recipient but as requested by the clinic am using EMU oil. Sorry for the large photos.
  5. A small update 9 days post op. Everything seems to be going well, I can't really say yet if it looks good though. Crusts are starting to come out and recovery is well under way. Not very pretty though Will update again a couple of weeks post op.
  6. Thank you. Yes a very poor yield, as in about 100 hairs. I wasn't told the graft count and payment was by cash only so a little dodgy. Some years later i looked up the doctor on these forums and there are so many nightmare stories. My own fault for not researching.
  7. Hello to everyone, this is my first post and I’d like to share my experience of having a hair transplant. I had FUE surgery with Dr Bisanga at the BHR clinic just outside of Brussels, Belgium a week ago on to redesign a conservative hairline and add more density in my frontal 1/3 area. I’m 39, male and I did have a previous FUT surgery in Ireland back in 2008 which turned out very badly. A hasty decision at the time with no research. So my decision to go ahead with Dr. Bisanga was well thought out and involved lots of research. With this in mind, I would encourage anyone considering a HT to do a ton of research beforehand. I had been on Finasteride for about a year and a half, and Dr. Bisanga suggested Minoxidil in tablet form to help thicken up the crown. The day before the surgery I had a further consultation with Dr. Bisanga where he designed a conservative hairline which I agreed with. Day of the Surgery: I arrived at 8:30 and went through the usual form signing. After shaving and cleaning of the donor area, I had an antibiotic and injections for the pain. The injections in the scalp were slightly painful but brief. Dr. Bisanga then started the punching and incisions in the hairline. Following this, the very friendly Dr. Kostis proceeded with the extractions. Lunch arrived at about 2 and afterwards the technicians continued with the extractions and graft placements until around 6:30 pm. I did fall asleep during this time and can only imagine how much the techs enjoyed my snoring while trying to do a precision job. Sorry guys! Afterwards I went straight back to the hotel (there is a premium hotel just a stone’s throw away from the clinic so walking is fine) to rest before a full briefing with Hilde (the patient advisor) at 10am the next day. Hilde is a really nice and took me through all the steps over the next couple of weeks, answered all my questions and we generally had a nice chat about everything. Graft breakdown FUE: • 1 Follicular Unit: 450 grafts • 2 Follicular Unit: 1641 grafts • 3 Follicular Unit: 732 grafts • 4 Follicular Unit: 166 grafts Average hairs per FU: 2.20 Post op, I had, on a scale of 1-10, a pain level of 1. I had no problem sleeping and didn’t need any of the pain medication provided. I am now at day 7 and everything is going well. I have to say the overall experience has really been exceptional. The team were professional and friendly at all times, and there is a lot of before- and aftercare and speedy responses to any questions. A big thank you to Dr. Bisanga and the team (Dr. Kostis, Hilde, and unfortunately I didn’t get the names of the technicians). I will update with progress as frequently as possible and any questions, I’m happy to answer.
