  1. I have already seen the video actually. But I would like to hear some anecdotes as well because from clinical trials, most people see stabilisation on Fin just after 6-8 months. I’m barely a NW 2 with slight diffused thinning who hasn’t achieved any form of slowing down or stabilisation after more than 4 months on Fin 1mg daily. Which makes me want to hop on Dut if I still don’t see any stabilisation after 8 months of usage.
  2. I’m 24 and started noticing increased hair loss and thinning about 1.5 years ago, already on Fin 1mg daily for 4 months but still losing ground. I still have a head of hair despite some areas of scalp becoming more visible due to thinning and quite disappointed that despite me starting early, I haven’t even achieved slowing down or stabilisation yet. Hence I was thinking of switching to Dut after 6-8 months if there is no slowing down or stabilisation even. Don’t wanna waste too much time on Fin 1mg if it doesn’t even stabilise my hair loss after 8 months of usage.
  3. Firstly, I know that Fin can take up to 2 years to see final results. But don’t forget, in literally all of the clinical trials, more than 95% see stabilisation or improvements by the 6-12 month mark. Which makes sense because you need to stabilise first before seeing improvements. Has anyone switched from Fin to Dut just after 6-8 months on Fin 1mg daily after not seeing any stabilisation or maintenance? Did you see immediate stabilisation by Dut that Fin hasn’t managed to achieve after 8 months? We all know time is of essence and personally I feel that if hair loss has not even stabilised or slowed after 8 months, it is best to switch to a stronger drug.
  4. The reason why I’m sounding like this is because if Finasteride doesn’t work out well for me, means that I need to wait until I’m even further diffused in order to get a HT, which is honestly quite frustrating. It’s like wanting to take preemptive action, yet I can’t do anything about it and have to actually wait for my hair to fall out even more in order to get a HT. By then my self esteem and confidence would have hit rock bottom as well. Most people procrastinate and only start treatment and go for HT once they have lost most of their hair. But here I am, trying to be proactive and if Fin doesn’t work for me down the road, not only am I not able to get a HT in advance, I have to actually wait for further diffusion and let it become worse before going for a HT. Sounds ridiculous and frustrating for me. Also I have been on Fin for 4 months, and have dropped from baseline tremendously. I know about the shedding theory but even if I were to recover from it, I doubt I can even reach baseline. Just look at the difference. I started taking Fin as both sides of my family were balding at a young age, and I have been losing significantly way more hair compared to just 2 years ago. No vitamin deficiency, both dermatologists diagnosed as early onset of MPB. I have a balanced diet and don’t smoke or drink. Normal stress levels.
  5. If there is possible HT option for my case, I would definitely opt for it and can go for the best HT surgeons that are able to pull it off. But I’m afraid it is a high risk kind of thing which why I enquired hoping if any experienced HT doctors will be able to provide any insights. My country (Singapore) literally has no decent HT doctors and ppl barely even do HT from where I come from. I definitely don’t trust their skills as well. If need to I am willing to fly out to whichever place that is able to do it. Also, I believe that hair transplant would be the most ideal to keep the hair since follicles from the donor zone are more DHT resistant, plus I am also on Finasteride now. I just want to have a backup plan in case Finasteride isn’t able to keep my native hairs at the top. Even my sister/mother have some visible balding which worries me since women’s natural DHT serum is 10x lower than men, which means even dutasteride won’t be enough.
  6. I really want a denser hair volume though. I had very thick hair just 2-3 years ago and have been shedding a lot of hair which caused my hair to become thinner. So far I am not responding well to finasteride as well. I want to know if HT is possible in the future especially if it becomes worse since I am more of a diffused thinner. Finasteride is pretty much the only option available for me at this point and I need a backup solution whichis HT if Fin doesn’t work out for me in the long run.
  7. I have been taking taking Finasteride 1mg daily for months. Assuming 1 year later that it does not improve my hair density or reduce my hair loss at all, is it even possible to transplant between the space for more density? Trust me when I said I used to have super thick hair just 2 years ago. Hair has been thinning since then. No vitamin deficiency either. I also do not plan to go on topical/oral dutasteride, neither can I get one from my country and I do not want to order online. I also have pre existing heart palpitations and both doctors advised not to use oral minoxidil. I used topical in the past for 1 year but it did nothing at all. RU58841 is out of the question, and I do not want to get SMP done for personal reasons. So if finasteride somehow doesn’t work even after 2 years of using it, is it possible to transplant between the follicles for more density, or is it super risky even with the best HT surgeons? How is my donor zone? I’m 25 years old.
  8. I’m already on oral finasteride for many months. Also I can’t get a prescription for oral minoxidil in my country, and I don’t plan on ordering online from sketchy websites. I used topical minoxidil before but I am a non responder.
  9. By ethical do you mean that the hair transplant has a high chance to fail due to the difficulty of the scenario? Or is it just not worth it? Because honestly money isn’t the issue for me. I’m just afraid that the hair transplant might fail or even affect my other existing follicles because there’s very specific areas that I want to fill in.
  10. 24M. I know this might seem like a weird question. But in general, is it possible to get a hair transplant to make existing density at the crown and mid-scalp especially even thicker despite already having a head of hair? Or will it be difficult to transplant the follicles between existing follicles? I know this is very case dependent but I would just like to know in general if it is possible to do such a thing. As you can see, I’m pretty much like a NW1.5 with some diffusion in my crown and mid scalp. My temples are fine but the middle of hairline is slightly diffused as well. However, my hair about 2 years ago was super super thick to the point where even if I were to part my hair, you will not be able to see the scalp at all. No vitamin deficiency or anything. I am currently on Finasteride 1mg a day for 3 months. I used topical minoxidil in the past but I’m a non responder. Cant get oral Minox in my country. My question is, if Finasteride doesn’t regrow my lost density back, will a hair transplant be possible for me to fill in my crown/mid scalp area for even more hair density? Last 2 pictures are damp/wet hair.
