What are you current thoughts? I think for 1809 it looks realistic and natural. The only thing I have thoughts on are you frontal part of the hairline where you originally drew the circular design.

it’s a bit red and in my opinion thought you would’ve had the most impact to it being more dense. I am not saying it’s bad but I figured they would’ve added more density to it.

I agree I think the frontal part of the hairline should be more dense. I don't think it ended up being 50 grafts per cm, most people probably don't notice much but depending on lighting and how my hair is set it looks less dense than the rest. Like the picture at 10 months.

I am satisfied with the result, but it could be better. HLC had a spot open in 2 weeks and it was perfect timing to get one. I came in debating whether I'd want to get temples done at HLC or go to a different doctor for those and have HLC do the first transplant with the most grafts.

I'll most likely eventually get another hair transplant to add density to the front and also fill in my temples.

I think HLC was worried about future balding which is why they spread out the grafts further back more so than created a very dense front. But even then the front should have some more added density.

Overall I'm very happy compared to before the procedure. Even tho my hair was decent before I think it looks much better now.

  2. The update pictures should all be under the same lighting 5 lightbulbs in the front. So it is artificial lighting. But that way I can have it be consistent throughout the pics. I used my google pixel with portrait mode for them when the background is blurry. I accidentally used normal mode for the last picture.

I think the biggest issue with these update threads are inconsistent lighting or bad pictures. So I tried to make it somewhat consistent.

Looking really good. What’s it like under harsher lighting? Does the density hold up well? Still plenty of time for further growth! Only at 7 months so halfway there!

Under the sun directly right now. I'll end up taking better picture after a year and a half or so to show everyone how it looks.

Any idea why? At 6 months I would think that should all be gone, no? Were you ever in the harsh sun for a long period of time at any points in those 6 months?

It's quite simple I'm just very pale naturally. I wasn't in sun for long periods of time. I think people that say their pinkness disappeared in no time will have darker complexion than me. The pinkness for them is probably still there but just not noticeable at all.

This was an interesting read. Thanks for sharing your experience. I too am going to HLC. When you went to travel around the city did you try and see if the driver would take you to the museums or ask for places to see? I assume covid would prevent you from going to many places?

When you were paying did you use your card, cash, or make a wire transfer? Personally, I would rather make a bigger deposit so i dont have to take cash with me.

You seem to have a few diffuse spots of thinning did they ask if you wanted those spots filled in? (based on your imgur video)

As for traveling around the city I made the plan myself didn't really ask anyone. I took a taxi to the museum of Anatolian civilizations, then walked to the castle, then walked to this other museum (that didn't have AC) then I walked to the mausoleum and took a taxi back before it got dark. The walk to the mausoleum took a little while but I didn't care you can easily call a taxi too.

You can use the app wise to transfer money to them. I brought cash cause the expected date turned out further than wise said it would be to transfer.

They didn't mention my diffuse thinning spots. The most they said was that they are worried of future balding. But I do have some more thinning on one of my sides down a line like pattern kind of.

Update? Very frustrating when they stop updating the thread just when the proper hair growth phase starts 🙄

Don't worry I will post up until around 1.5 years progress I haven't forgot about you guys lol

As for growth the fastest growth I saw was 3-4 months. It's getting better but it's hard to judge how much. I'm hoping the final result will be more dense looking.

    Hi Everyone,

I thought I would add this observation as I haven't seen anyone mention this.

Below is a picture of one of my hairs. (I have sacrificed to give back to this forum. 😭)

Interestingly the tip (oldest part of the hair) is really thick, it then thins out, and thickens back towards the end (newest part).

Visually I can see this on a few of the hairs on my head, but not all. I assume that the non-uniform thickness implies that this is a graft that never shed. (which is why not all of my hair is like this)

I assume the thinness in the middle of the hair is due to the follicle having gone through some stress over the first few weeks post op.

Has anyone else seen this before?

A lot of my hairs look like this

Looks excellent for 6 weeks. I’m guessing at 12 weeks you’ll be pretty set up!

    Thanks, I hope so.

    Coming along nicely.

You definitely didn't need to go lower than that. You have a pretty tiny forehead as it is so any lower would have been overkill and a waste of graft-resources for future needs elsewhere on the scalp.

Yeah I agree, what do you think about getting temples filled in?

  9. I had my transplant about a month ago and I have a few small hairs a couple mm long that are thick but they didn't shed and haven't grown at all. Are these dead follicles or can I expect some of these to shed and start growing.

I've read posts where after a few months people say these are dead follicles but I know I am still early in the process. I am wonder what your experiences are with these.
