  1. Hi everyone! Here's the latest video showcasing where I am at this point on my journey. I'd love to answer any questions any of you have after watching the video, so feel free to ask me anything you want to know. In the meantime, I must say it is very exciting to be on the receiving end of a successful hair restoration journey as a patient, and I'm ecstatic about how things are shaping up. Speak soon!
  2. Thanks for posting the above video, Melvin! However, our editing team is making a few edits to the video, so the above one is no longer available. We'll repost the video once it's updated, with more content and updates to come as the months go on!
  3. Hi everyone! Dr. Gujrati here, aka Dr. G, and I have been a hair transplant surgeon in the San Francisco/Bay Area for over a decade. I recently partnered with Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration, and am now the Medical Director and lead surgeon at our San Francisco location. I really am looking forward to demonstrating my work here on the forum in the coming months. However, the main reason for this post/thread today is for me to share with you my very own recent hair transplant with my partner, Dr. Mohebi, and to give my account of the process as someone who is now both a hair transplant surgeon and patient. Just like almost everyone in this forum, I imagine, I have had my own personal emotions around and attachment to my hair, and this has been something I’ve known, but not expressed, for quite some time. My father has advanced hair loss, and I’ve always known that losing my hair was something I may have to face later in life. Having performed hair restoration procedures now for more than 10 years, I’m intimately aware of what the beginning stages of hair loss look like for my patients, and I’m also very much in tune with the mental and emotional hurdles that come with that. I’ve always taken great pride in my own hair, having grown long and luxurious locks starting 6 years ago, and in many ways, I’ve developed quite the identity around it. I was always optimistic and hopeful that I could somehow dodge the MPB bullet, but as I started noticing my hairline slowly receding over the past several years, I finally realized it was something I was going to have to tackle “head on.” (Sorry, Hair Surgeon humor…I couldn’t resist!) So, given my expertise in the field and the resources that I have, I decided that for me, it made sense to do something about it sooner rather than later. About two weeks ago, Dr. Mohebi and I planned and performed a 2,675 graft FUE procedure on me at our Los Angeles Hair Transplant Center. I have a feeling it will always be one of the most impactful days of my life - for so many reasons. Patient education is one of our first priorities at Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration, and we found my procedure to be a great opportunity to review this process from a totally unique angle. We have been documenting this entire process – before, during, and after the procedure - with a small film crew, and we will continue to do so over the course of the next 12 months or so. Our intention is that this will be a great resource for many people suffering from hair loss and serve as a way to give a first-hand account of what hair restoration entails from start to finish: not only from the point of view of the patient, but from someone who has been trained and performed the same exact procedure on other happy patients for many years. I would also really love to take this opportunity to hear from all of you on the forum, so please feel free to ask me any questions you have. In the meantime, I’m including some photos from the day of my procedure, and I can’t wait to share the updates, photos, and videos that I have so far. I will continue recording and sharing more videos and photos in the weeks and months to come so that everyone has the opportunity to take this really special journey with me. All my best wishes, Dr. G
