It's a great result in my books. 5k is a lot. And usually a touch up is needed after that many grafts. The amazing results you see are usually from 2-3k procedures.

Yea thats true. I think I perhaps had kind of fooled myself into thinking I hadn't lost as much as I had bc I actually had a really convincing combover. Hasson and one of the other consultants was shocked  when they actually started moving my hair around. Hasson even said that it was the most convincing he had ever seen, which is guess is a complement lol.

5k grafts is a lot for just front to mid region, is it possible that too many grafts in such tight area caused some grafts not to survive? Usualy on such big fue or fut cases they pack 3-3.5k grafts from front to mid, has the clinic said why 5k were needed there?

Their initial estimate was about 4k or so, but the area of my head is actually larger than average

I specifically talked about the front hair line and how I saw more gaps than usual in his work. I don't usually see this type of quality in the work, I totally understand every patient is different and their hair thickness is different, but regardless it does look way less packed than some of the other patients he's had work done. There are other examples of thinner hair types that I've seen with great results from Freitas, so my main point was, was this due to the patient using less hairs as costs were a blocker as that is more likely why the doctor was forced with less in this case? I ask because I see myself going to Freitas potentially and would want to know that lower number of grafts increase the risk of having a more sparse/"doll like" look and that more hairs in the first surgery is the best course of action, OR doing a follow up filling procedure is needed for cases to further get thinner hair types to really get the density that thicker hair types may get on their first surgery. It's not a knock on the work, its a totally valid question to ask and point out. I expect this to be a forum where we can ask questions like this, and not just blindly complement EVERY transformation given people are paying a lot of money here, and maybe some should budget more if we are seeing inconsistencies in the results.

The hair is WET in the video, the density is laudable.

From what I've read, there's still time for the hair that has grown in to become thicker. However, I was hoping you'd have a little more growth. I also went with Hassan and Wong, but I'm not quite to one month post-procedure.

How much donor hair did Hassan say remained?

Hasson said I had another 5k left, but personally I don't know if I would do another surgery. The time and anxiety were a lot for me

    Looks like a good result.

But it seems like you are thining behind the transplanted  area.

Are you on oral medication ?

I am on finasteride and I do topical minoxidil. I also realize that I have significant thinning beyond transplanted area, but that was prior to surgery (you can see in first post). i was mostly concerned with how my hair frames my face and not as concerned with crown/mid scalp.

  6. Had FUE with Dr. Hasson approximately 6 months ago. My result thus far doesn't look as spectacular as some posted on the H&W website timelines but been told by clinic my result is typical and there's still time to improve; hopeful that is the case. I only had the mid scalp and front area restored and left the crown as is.

Good post. I started noticing that I was balding in my early 20s as well with temporal hair loss that progressed to the crown and frontal aspect of my scalp. I should have started on finasteride/minoxidil MUCH earlier and could have salvaged that hair.

Yep, my hair loss was pointed out by others before I noticed in my early 20s. I was in denial about it for years, and didn't start fin until my early 30s out of 1 shame to talk about it to a doctor and 2 fear about the side effects/commitment of taking a pill for the rest of my life. In hindsight, I see I was being totally irrational, but honestly so much was going on in my life from starting college at 21 to starting my first professional job in my mid 20s there was always something else to focus on and delay action.

  8. I've done online consults with a few different places and I have generally gotten feedback that I will need around 3500 grafts to restore my hairline and mid scalp. I'm 33 now and am probably a norwood 4. My father is a norwood 6. I am deciding between doing fue with eugenix or fut with hasson and wong. I'm worried about a scar but also read that fue depletes total available donor area. I've also read that an fut scar can be masked with SMP. What is everyone's opinion.
