I am planning to do a hair transplant to fill up my hairline which is currently sparse. Would be approx. 300 grafts. I am thinking of going with Exclusive package. I want to know opinions of members here, on who would be better choice Dr. Das or Dr. Somesh ?

I think it looks like may be 3800 ~ 4000 grafts. I may be Wrong too.

Can somebody help. This is the ingredients list of F-Tricho-Nourish. Is the dosage high or low ? Is this equivalent to 0.25 mg of tablet ?

@is_batman_bald have you tried the F-TRICHO NOURISH ? Is it good ? Did you face any sides ? Thanks in advance.

I am 31 M, NW2 level balding. I had 2 hairline lowering procedures (1250 + 750). I still feel the hairline in the front ~0.75 cm is sparse and want to fill it. It should take 250-300 grafts.

Now I am worried that all the soft singles have already been used in the past 2 procedures. Is my concern valid?

Can we split 2 hair grafts to 2 single hair grafts ? If yes, will it match the real singles texture ?

My Donor:

I had a HT recently in hairline. Bumped my head (not too hard but significant) on 2nd day (~50 hours). Did not see any blood. I checked with my doctor, she said not to worry after examination. But the line from below article, scares me.

Did I lose my grafts? Is losing grafts always indicated by blood?

This is also a guess, but I'm assuming covid would be very bad for new hair growth after a transplant. Covid is an inflammatory virus that harms the body through androgen receptors (among other things). Many people who have had covid have suffered hairloss in the resulting months.  

I am an Indian but from the Southern Part. Yes. I have rescheduled because of the current situation. I did not know Covid resulted in Hairloss. Thanks for the Info.

Given the current COVID crisis in Delhi,Haryana, I am really worried and stressed. 

I am extremely worried about the negative scenario (less probable yet..) where I am tested Covid Positive after my HT and trapped in Delhi/Gurgaon.

Any suggestions from Indians in the forum regarding that?

I used it for around 6 months. Hairfall stopped completely. But there was NO significant growth.

Yes. I got your point. I am skeptical that it has no systemic side effect. Not an expert, but my thoughts are when used for long periods some amount of finasteride will get accumulated in system and it will take months or years for systemic side effects to show.

Does anybody in this forum has any experience with TrichoStem regeneration? What are your thoughts? From their YouTube videos, it seems like a good alternative to Finasteride & Minoxidil.

I would like to present a crazy idea.

History: I am a NW2 aged 28 with good crown and mild scalp density. Family history is such that no major baldness NW4 (with low density) at age 60. My prediction of my future hair loss is very slow receding of hairline to NW4(with low density) about the age 50. 

Idea: To use crown and midscalp grafts as donors for hairline lowering.

Reason: If donors are taken from safe donor zone, then after 10 years I might need another transplant since hairline is permanent and the native hairs behind the hairline will fall and it will look really bad. So to avoid this scenario, can we implant grafts from crown & midscalp zone which will fall off with native hair and baldness progression looks normal for a 40/45 year old. *I DONT WANT TO TAKE FINASTERIDE OR MINOXIDIL*

Expectation: I would like to lower my hairline by 1 cm which could take approximately 1200 grafts.I want to enjoy the new lowered hairline for approximately 10 years. After that I don't care.

I feel this is a crazy idea. Don't know why.. But can anyone say why this is a bad idea?

Abstract

Background: The longevity of the grafted hair follicles is still debated and there are limited literature available on this topic. Aim: To assess the longevity of transplanted hairs after follicular unit transfer (FUT). Materials and Methods: A total of 112 patients who had undergone FUT were included in the study and their results at the end of 4 years were compared with the 1 year post surgery results by standardized images. The reduction in the density of the grafted hair follicles was graded by a blinded observer in a grading scale. Results: Among 112 subjects 50.89% had grade 4, 46.42% had grade 5, 2.67% had grade 6 alopecia respectfully. The 4 year follow up grading of hair loss showed moderate reduction in transplanted hair density in 55.35%, slightly reduced density in 27.67% greatly reduced in 8.03% and no change in the density in 8.92% subjects. Conclusion: The hair grafts transplanted may not last permanently for all the subjects. Recipient site influence might affect the growth and long-term survival of the transplanted hairs.

In addition, T and 5alpha-DHT induced proteolytic cleavage of caspase 8 and inhibited proliferation of DPC at 10(-5) M. I see you post this as if it were fact all the time on this site... Every single Topical fin study I have seen shows Systemic reduction of dht. Similar to if not greater than oral fin. Am I missing something? Is there a topical fin compound that has any sort of data to back these claims? Not doubting your clinical experience but the data would suggest otherwise stating that there is no systemic absorption of topical fin. I myself struggle with Fin sides so I am certainly looking into these topical options heavily right now.

yes. I am really skeptical when someone says topical finasteride has NO side effects. Need more data to be conclusive.

I am a NW2 and aged 28. No sign of rapid baldness or hair loss. I have very slow progression of hair loss. I am planning for HT to lower my hairline little bit. I DONT WANT TO TAKE FINASTERIDE after transplant. My queries are..

1. Will all the transplanted hairs grow even if don't take finasteride after surgery?
2. Does transplanted hair fall after sometime? or is it permanent? I have read the transplant hair also undergoes miniaturisation and eventually fall off. I comfortable being bald in my late 40s. But I am skeptical about whether my hairline will look bad if only surrounding native hairs fall out.
