You should be fine driving the day after the procedure. They may give you a benzodiazepine for anxiety prior to your procedure and reputable clinics will tell you not to drive the same day and it will be a low dose probably. You picked a great surgeon in @Dr. Robert Dorin

Please keep the community posted on your journey and happy growing buddy!

Thank you so much, Dr. Khokhar! I look forward to posting updates.

I'm looking into the 4 NY doctors from here. Bernstein and True/Dorin want 175$ just to see me for the consultation. That's insane to me, should I really do that for each doctor? Is that normal? How do I know which one between them is the best one? If they're all elite coalition members.

That was also the case for me with True/Dorin, though they do apply the $175 toward your procedure. For whatever it's worth, I had consultations at several other places, which were free, and had a much better conversation with Dr. True and scheduled my surgery right away.

  3. Hi everyone,

First, just want to say thank you to everyone on this forum. What a tremendous resource. I have lots of anxiety about this procedure and really appreciate

I live in Boston and am having FUE in New York next month. I was thinking of driving home the day after my procedure, roughly four hours.

Does that sound like a good or terrible idea? It seems like from other posts I should be fine in terms of pain the next day, but would like to check.

    Thank you!

  4. Hi everyone!

I am scheduled for FUE (roughly 1700 grafts) in a few weeks.

The practice is offering PRP during the procedure, and says that the PRP may help prevent shock loss and speed the growth of new grafts.

They are not making any definitive claims, just saying this is what they see from experience.

Let me add: I already am receiving PRP and will be finished with my third PRP treatment before the FUE procedure.

    What do you think?

    Thank you!

  5. Hey everyone,

I am wanting to do FUE, but I have pretty bad needle phobia. What's been keeping me from going forward is fear of how bad the numbing injections themselves will hurt.

I don't think I can wait any longer, and will do the procedure with whatever pain comes along with it, but I am honestly pretty nervous.

If you have a minute, would you mind sharing how much the actual injections (especially the nerve block in the front) hurt? Was there anything your doctor did or suggested you do to minimize the pain?

Thanks everyone, I appreciate you sharing your experience
