  1. Got 4ml Elanse filler today.

Relatively small amount with the aim of subtle results.

I had it placed in my undereye bone, jawline and chin.

I'm 34 next month and the aim was just to look as robust and goodlooking as I did at 18-20

    Before (selfie and long view)

Will probably get implants eventually but this is a cheapish (3k AUD) and recovery-free option. I'm happy with the subtle results.

    Cheers

Yeah, I definitely am. If for no other reason, then I'm really glad I did it just to fix the asymmetry of my chin and jaw - but I really like the vertical balance that the more squared chin and wider lower jaw width lend to my facial thirds. Whereas before my face was all narrow-looking with a seemingly overly large forehead because of the undersized lower third, everything just looks more balanced now.

Most recent pics, after an implant position adjustment (done free of any surgery charge; about 15% of people need an adjustment afterwards due to malpositioning). I also had buccal fat pad removal/perioral lipo done while I was there, since I was already there and it was not expensive. DM me if you've got more questions!

Thanks dude, I had the dermal fillers version of this (cheek, jaw, chin) last year and am doing it again tomorrow. Think I'll go the implant route eventually as my body burns the fillers away fast. I have a slim face too and would love similar results to yours.

Accutane is a surprisingly hardcore drug. No clue how it interacts with hairloss but you should definitely bring it up when you do consults. My senses tell me you should be off accutane a few weeks/months before surgery.

How old are you btw? Most people on accutance are teenagers when they take it. I was 16 myself when I was on it lol

I'm 34 in January. I refused to take it for years, but bit the bullet recently as I was sick of acne on my back.

I'm actually not planning any HT or surgery at this stage, was just raising the issue of donor area if I need an HT in a few years.

Accutane is working well for the acne btw. I'm lucky to have no other sides- will up my dosage in a week.

It does appear a but thin. Have you been examined in person?

Nope, but I actually think it's come from this acne medication Accutane I'm taking. Temporarily thinner hair can be a side effect, and I don't remember it being like this 2 months ago before I was on it.

I'll see the course out and then see what happens with the donor area.

I doubt it... I guess it'll depend on age ans general family pattern... looks like your head of hair is alright. But it doesn't look like a bad donor to me.

Thanks, yeah I think my hair texture is just thin which contributes to the weak look.

I just remembered that I'm also on the acne medication accutane now, which causes hair to thin a bit for the duration you're on it. That may be the cause of it.

Had the same exact thing happened (ordered twice both times had the lung problems and threw it out after 2 days) Did some research and realized it wasn’t the RU causing this, it was the PG ingredient.. Switched to the K&B solution and I’ve been on it a month now with no issues

    Woah. Are you serious?

This is big. The PG solution caused this? I wonder why that is.

    Could you share the research?

    Thanks for letting me know.

I'm fairly certain he had an HT with Dr. Cuoto. I have a feeling he suffers from DUPA, which is why the HT wasn't successful.

Yes, It's all over the place.

Which is the same reason why the combover seems to work a little bit for him.

I hope he has another transplant and can do enough with his hair to at least have some coverage. I think he's in trouble though and will have to shave it off by his early 40s

I got very strong side effects as soon as I tried to use topical min with it. Like, I even waited 6 days after application of Xyon and the sides hit shortly after application.

I'm on oral minoxidil now and so I'm trying it again, about 9 days in, and I have a ball ache, which isn't a good sign, but much better than before. I've also read accounts of being trying fin and they have a ball ache at first and then they don't have any side effects, I hope that's the case with me.

Hi HairRun, how did the Topical Fin work out for you? Any sides beyond the ball ache?

Taking it every 4-5 day’s probably isn’t doing much to stop hair loss. I think you’re a perfect candidate to switch to topical. I’m gonna be testing out XYONHealth which was co-created by Dr. Hasson. The siloxysystem gel acts as a mesh to keep the finasteride on your scalp, and prevents it from going systemic all at once.

Hey Melvin, I've recently watched some of your Youtube videos.

If I may ask- which brand of Topical Fin do you use? I recently bought from Minoxidilmax but last time I had sides from them (different compound). Wanted another brand just in case the same happens now. Thanks

  10. Hey guys,

Just thought I'd share my experience on RU58841.

So the first time I used it was about 14 months ago- Started maybe September 2021 and used it sparingly: 15-20mg every couple of days.

I did notice some mild heartburn/heaviness in the chest after every application, but didn't think much of it.

After about 2 months of infrequent use- November 2021, I started getting sick, which is weird because it's nearly Summer here in Australia then.

I got mild to moderate chest and lung pain- not severe, but certainly noticeable and alarming. I was covid negative.

I did some reading on RU58841 and saw others had experienced this, so I threw the RU out and just took Fin/Min

Fast forward to a couple of months ago (September 2022), I was worried about continued thinning in my crown, so I hastily ordered RU again. I thought maybe the past side effects were a nocebo.

Well, it took me till 2 days ago (Nov 13th) to try it, as I was still a bit apprehensive. I only applied about 15mg, once.

Today I have gotten the same mild/moderate chest pain- more so in my lungs. It hurts when I breathe in. It was actually quite worrying and alarming- I even contemplated not going to the gym.

Apart from these two incidents after taking RU, I've never had this in my life.

I threw away the bottle of RU for a second time, and I'll never use it again.

Even though fin gives me mild libido issues, it's certainly the better alternative to me. I'd rather try my luck with Topical Fin/Dut, CB-03-01, or conceal my thinning crown with SMP or fibres before getting a small transplant in a few years.

Just thought I'd share my experience, as I think it's important people do. Thanks

  11. Tennis great Rafael Nadal has been balding for a decade, and in the last couple of years it's gotten pretty bad.

I'm not sure where he is on the Norwood scale, but his lack of density at the top is painfully obvious.

I believe he had a transplant a few years ago, but it either failed or he's proceeded to thin badly.

Also, I think athletes aren't allowed to take medication like Finasteride (probably why Lebron's hair looks so bad even after so many transplants).

He'll probably retire in the next year or two, so the question is-

Can his hair return to a decent level with another HT plus medication?

If so, how many grafts would it take? Somewhere in the 8000-1000 range? His doner area looks good.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

My point exactly. Are drugs really that effective? Could some one possibly suffering from hair loss or age related thinning, which there is a difference, push off a hair transplant or really for that matter, genetics… for decades? Are drugs… 5AR inhibitors, minoxidil.. really that good? That effective? Sadly, even though I posted that question…it’s something that cannot definitively be answered. So, we or rather I,  continue on, fear of the unknown, perceived shame, loss of influence, acceptance…for whatever reason, continue on. In the end I suppose it’s why those who really understand or are dealing with hairloss turn to FDA approved solutions, as we are lucky to have options. But sometimes, I doubt these solutions… with a sense of hope that maybe genetics has some play in this and it’s not just a pill or a topical. 😔😏

I think for the most part, drugs like Fin, Dut, Ru, Minoxidil, plus microneedling are fantastic and absolutely prevent transplants for a decade or two even.

Sure there are a few people who are destined to be NW 6 by 35, or who don't respond well to the drugs, or simply don't want to take them, but I think for the most part, they are that effective.

From being on this forum for 2 years now, I believe the biggest factor in someone keeping their hair is if they catch it and start dealing with it in its early stages.
