Looks incredible. Are you still on finasteride or only oral minoxidil? And how many miligrams? Thanks!
Yeah I take 1.25 milligrams 3 times a week.

I just want to say thank you very much for your post and sharing all this information / photos. I am even more happy because we often see patients 6 months - 1yr photos, but not always after the 1 year mark. I know you had two procedures but seeing the changes and growth past the 12mth mark, really gives me hope and inspiration. Especially since I hope to be going to Dr Bisanga in March. Your results look phenomenal!!!
COngratulations, thank you and happy growing.
Can you tell me if you think the MSM/Biotin made any difference?
For me, this forum was great. Just want to try and repay the help and knowledge I gained from it.
Regarding MSM/Biotin I think they help hair health. I haven't taken them in months but that is more down to me now using oral Minoxidil and just maybe getting lazy in taking numerous pills. When I get up in the morning I swallow a Minoxidil pill and I'm done.

Hey all, been a while since I posted an update but to my mind anyhow it hasn't changed alot in the last couple of months. See below photos from today. I'm now about 8 months on oral Minoxidil. The results are really good and a total game changer for me, there is just that middle part on the left that I'd like brought up to the standard of the rest. I will be going back to Dr Bisanga in the Spring (i just need to organise a date with him for when I'm close by with work) we'll see what might be needed then.

It looks great! Have you simply tried combing over the right side to the left side?
Thanks, naturally it more wants to go left to right if that makes sense, also I generally keep it short enough so not too much can be done with it.

Insane transformation given the graft count. Looks amazing next to the before photo.
TBH, on the point about a weaker side, 4000 or even 6,000 grafts given that you were nearly slick bald were never going to get 100% coverage -- that said, I think one more pass of 2,000 and you're golden and won't even look like you're thinning at all. Either way, you look great and can totally pull off the hair you have now.
Any sense of # of grafts remaining?
Cheers!
Thank you. I recall Dr B saying 1000 beard grafts still being available from my beard straight after the op but when I visited recently he was pleasantly surprised about the condition of my beard donor, I hadn't shaved in 3 days so it could be could be closer to 1500 available there. I also have an abundance of chest hairs available, these are dead straight and closer in diameter to my scalp hairs than the beard ones. I should be good for a touch up if needed.
I know the left side is weaker but I've been thinking did I have a shed when changing over from topical to oral Min which showed up on the last photos. I'll post more photos next week which will be the 12 month mark. BTW I am really happy with how all this turned out for me, it has been a game changer for me, I am so much happier and confident.
Thanks all for the comments, I hope my journey is useful to folks thinking about undergoing such a procedure.

Hi all,
Sorry for the delay, 11 months now since the 2nd op. Hair is indeed longer. The left side remains weaker but I do notice some smaller hairs coming through. I have stopped using Minoxidil foam and went on the oral Monoxidil almost a month ago after meeting with Dr Bisanga. We'll see how it progresses over the next 5 months before seeing if I need a touch up there.

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted an update in a while, just been extremely busy. Anyhow see my latest photos taken outside in the lovely weather we have at the moment. The hair is quite short at the moment so my photos in a months time will give a better representation. One side is weaker than the other but overall I am really happy with how it turned out.

Fills me with confidence the more I see and read these comments. Mine is the only source I have left. 👍🏽
The quick healing time with the beard is crazy, must be the extra blood flow. Great option to have available for those of us not blessed with large scalp donors

@Melvin- Moderator congrats, i am looking forward to seeing the growth over the coming months. You may have had disappointing results from your 1st procedure, but your donor looks looks impeccable after 4 of them. Good luck and happy growing

Crown looking like it filled it nice. I think I can spot some of the beard grafts used in the crown area. I heard those get softer and straighter over time.
And your beard area is still looking good. Considering you took out over 2k grafts. WOW.
Looking forward to those pics when tus clean shaven to see how, if any, scarrijg looks.
That's them alright, not totally straight or as soft as scalp hairs.

1st op 14 months ago, 2nd op 7 months ago.
It is still coming along nicely, that left mid scalp is still weaker but it is slowly filling in each month - I just seem to be one of guys the who have to wait a bit longer on the results. Hair is the longest I've had it since I had hair about 10 years ago. I think though I will buzz it down again to a 3 or 4 blade.
The beard like last time healed really quickly and these photos have 6 days growth, tomorrow I will shave and post more photos.
Happy New Year all.

Amazing results.
Congrats. Big difference from your starting point.
I appreciate how you took so many pics of your beard area and how it healed from the 1st surgery. But how is it looking now since you took another 1000?
Thanks, it's coming along nicely. The weekend is the 7 month mark, I'll post up some pics then, shaven and unshaven.

1 year on from the first procedure and and 5 months on from the second. One side is stronger than the other at the moment but hoping it improves, going by the progress from the first procedure I don't seem to be one of the lucky ones who see great growth after 4 - 5 months. Overall however, I am very happy with progress when you compare back to where I started from.

Yes of course you did not have full survival rate. Most people get their max growth until month 7, after this month the hair just get thicker. What did the doc say about the result of the first procedure? How much money did u pay per graft?
Like me he was happy with result so far.
This was the starting point, where the goal was a good hairline and maximise coverage with 2 procedures always planned.
This is approx 12 days post the first procedure
To me the two week photo shows two definite areas where the grafts are sparser - my right side and also a smaller area in the centre just behind the hairline. Going on the 6 month photo I think that area in the centre can still be seen but I'm honestly delighted with how it has gone.

On your first procedure it seems like you did not have full growth of grafts.With 3000 grafts your frontal part shoud be much better than this, so you did no get maximum survival rate. I hope your second procedure goes better than your first one. Good luck with your second procedure mate.
Thanks for the best wishes. I'm actually very happy with the frontal result so far. My aim starting as a NW 6/7 was get a good hairline and have coverage behind that. If the second procedure goes similar I should have that and any density behind the hairline would be a bonus and exceed my expectations going into this. You are correct I likely did not have full growth rate of grafts but again I'm only 7 months post procedure 1 so it is still early days.

Hi all,
Update, thankfully I did make it over to Brussels last week for my second procedure with Dr Bisanga and his team.
In total 3300 graphs made up of 2300 from scalp and 1000 beard.
Breakdown as follows:
Scalp
Ones = 231
Twos = 1013
Threes = 934
Fours = 122
Beard
Ones = 813
Twos = 187
Had a pre op consultation on Wednesday where Dr Bisanga was able to examine in detail how the first procedure was progressing and make a detailed plan for the second. The second procedure is to tackle the crown but we agreed that some of the mid scalp could be further reinforced. Head was then shaved and photos taken. The good news was that the density of the donor was the same at the sides but had improved at the back since the first procedure (fin must be working). I was then back in the clinic on Thursday and Friday for the procedure, neither were full days which left things more comfortable.
Early days with only being on day 3 post surgery but everything going as expected so far. The beard is also healing well like last time.
I will give another update in two weeks.
Photos attached.
