Hi everyone,
Have been around the forum for some time now, and have seen the pre-screened physician area, but am hoping for some advice and referrals of surgeons who have been getting good results for FUE crown procedures.
I’ve already had a 2000 grafts FUE crown hair transplant in Australia but am unhappy with the results due to low density. The doctor didn’t even focus on my crown and blended way too far into my existing hairline! 2 years later and my crown is still thin.
After speaking to all the main hair transplant surgeons in Australia, I have concluded they are all low quality and shady. Therefore, I’m prepared to go overseas for my next procedure. North America is convenient, and I’m impressed with gallery pictures from Dr. Parsa Mohebi as well as Hasson and Wong.
I’m thinking 500-600 FUE grafts (up to 1200 hairs) at 30 grafts per cm2 with an effective crown design should give me a significantly better cosmetic outcome than what I have now? Currently my crown looks ok when viewed from front and sides but looking from top and back it still looks quite thin/bald and that’s what I’d like to fix.
Being in my early 30s and not on any medication (except PRP) I’m hesitant to use too much donor area since I haven’t touched my front hairline yet. Even though my hair loss seems stable and I have good density/coverage at the front, who knows what further procedures might be needed in the future.
I’ve attached photos of:
The day before my first transplant
The day after the first transplant (showing in yellow where in my opinion grafts are still needed at a minimum)
3 x pics of my crown now 2 years post-surgeryAppreciate any comments and feedback. Thank you.
Hi, which doctor in Australia did you go to? I'm thinking of getting it done in Australia but not sure where. Thanks

Would strongly recommend against it. I'm in your city city too (I assume) and Knudsen clinics in the eastern states do particularly poor work from what I see for the most part and he's probably the most highly regarded surgeon in the country.
It would be great to get it done during lockdown but unfortunately not optimal. The reality is that if you can afford Aussie prices you likely can afford surgeons that are at the top-end globally, which those in Australia are not.
Ok thank you. Re Knudsen, is this for both doctors in Melb and Sydney? And is this based on people you have seen or just what you see on websites?
the Instagram pics of Gro hair look great.
i think it’s either Dr Vikram , gro hair, or just wait until international travel is back and I can go to where you went or Dr Bisanga in Belgium.
Thanks again!

Hi, I've just read your post and wondering which doctor you went to to get this done? Thanks

Looks fantastic! I'm keen to get a transplant in Australia during lockdown. Should I do this, and if so any tips where? Or, should I just wait until the international borders are open and go where you went?
Thanks again -
Really liking the responses and details here.
I'm struggling to choose a HT surgeon.
I have Dr Vikram and Gro Hair on my list they Gro hair Dr's in Brisbane and Sydney have great instagram pages, also saw paras hair clinic.
So It's either pick one of the above or wait until International travel is open and go to BHRclinic in Belgium, DHI London, Dr Koray Erdogan in Turkey
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks! -

Hey James, I researched for around 2 years before I jumped in and got a HT. Dr Koray Erdogan is in the top 3 surgeons in the world in my opinion so I was happy to pay for the best work. I had 3200 FUEs and it cost me around $12000 Australian with airfares but it was worth every cent. He has a Hospital that rivals the best of any Australian Hospital when it comes to cleanliness and professionalism.
The only thing I would warn you about, because you do television is the redness of the scalp after you have a HT. It eventually goes away, but it took over 5 months for the redness to subside on my scalp, I would just tell people it was sunburn or wear a cap. Everything else regarding my experience went smoothly. It takes at least 5 months for the regrowth to begin to really kick in so you will go through an ugly ducking phase. Just make sure you do your research and check out my experience and photos through my thread.

The scar has just started to shed the dissolvable stitches. I cant really see the scar tbh as I have too much hair at the moment. Once I get a haircut I will see how it is.
Yeah the team seemed really nice.
@JohnMelb1234 I have shed a lot of the grafts now. I am feeling a bit impatient. Just have to kind of ignore it at this point I think I get on with my life and it will grow in due time. Also my hair is quite curly at shorter lengths so I assume my hair will be quite frizzy as it grows out. Will take quite a while to train this hair haha
