  1. Thanks guys, I swear on my life that i didn't come hear to post to make people jealous or mad. I really was concerned I was losing my hair because of the amount I found in the shower in the last couple of years. I'm going to try and get out and enjoy life instead of constantly stressing out about my hair. I've been doing it for the past 3 years spending hundreds of hours taking pictures and spending hundreds of dollars seeing doctors too. I got to stop.
  2. Thanks for replying again. Yeah I understanding shedding is normal, but should I be worried about shedding those thing strands of hair like in this picture https://imgur.com/a/cHqXPkA that seem weak and wispy? I would shed 20 strands of hair in the shower and about 5 - 8 of them would be a mix of the short and thin wispy strands like in the imgur link. The majority would be the normal thickness.
  3. I'm a 31 year old Asian with thick coarse strands of hair. Sometimes in the shower I would count 20 - 30 strands of hair. Today I counter 21 and some were short less then an inch and some were thin too and some were normal length. I was wondering is shedding some short hair less then an inch and some thin hair normal or does it mean you're 100% balding? Do all the strands on your head that you shed have to be the same thickness to not be considered balding? I posted an imgur of the strands of hair I'm talking about. I posted an imgur of the strands of hair I'm talking about below. I saw a hair restoration doctor in 2018, sent pictures to a hair clinic in 2018 and 2019 and saw a dermatologist in April of 2019 and they all said my hair looks fine. I'm still wondering about the thin and sometimes short strands of hair I sometimes find after showering or randomly on the floor or table. Pictures of my strands of hair that I shed and that I'm talking about. https://imgur.com/a/cHqXPkA Here are some pictures of what my hair looks like now. The first two pictures in the album is actually a video. https://imgur.com/a/v7i2msx April 2019 - July 2020 Hair Image Record https://imgur.com/a/RshkuKL
  4. You're right I do suffer from really bad anxiety. I've made a lot of post lately asking about this issue and most people keep telling me that I'm fine, but I still keep thinking I'm going bald. I'm try to get off these hairloss sites and forums and try to get my mind on something else. It's driving me crazy.
  5. I already saw a hair restoration doctor in 2018 and a dermatologist in 2019. Do you need to get your hair check ever year or every 2 years?
  6. I was thinking that too. I read multiple post that say that most people that end up being in the higher norwoods are usually balding in their 20's, but then there's always someone that comes in and said "you better watchout because if you think you're balding then you are, I know someone that was 40 years old with a norwood 2 and went to a norwood 6 in a year" and that's when I panic again. I've seen post like this so many times. I try to convince myself that I'll be fine, but then I find a couple of thin strands of hair, find that I'm shedding 25 strands when I was shedding 10 a couple of days ago or read the kind of post I mentioned earlier and I freakout again. It sucks.
  7. I already seen three different doctors and its quite expensive. I saw a hair restoration specialist in 2018 costing $140 for a consultation and he told me I had one of the best heads of hair for a 29 year old. I also sent pictures to a hair clinic in 2018 and 2019 and told my hair looked fine and I went to see a dermatologist in April 2019 and he told me I had plenty of hair. I just get all worried that I might be fine now and then 6 months later I'm a Norwwod 4 or 5 and getting worst. The thing strands of hair also freak me out too because doctors say it could be normal, but then a bunch of people on various forums all over the internet say its a definite sign you are balding which is why the 3 -5 thin strands of hair I see combing or showering scares me.
  8. I know everyone's different. I was wondering how long on average does it take to go from Norwood 1 or 1.5 to noticeable thinning due to male pattern baldness? 5 years, 10 years maybe 15 years or 20 years? Most people consider me a Norwood 1.5 so I'm trying to figure out how long I might have before hairloss becomes noticeable if I have male pattern baldness. My dad and grandpa on my dad side are balding and my mom has female pattern baldness too. I don't know if its because of the years of dying her hair or if its actual hairloss and her dad had hair when he died in his 60's, so there's definitely a chance I could go bald too. I'm trying to guess how many more years left I have of no noticeable hairloss. Right now I'm 31 years old and what worries me is that I sometimes shed 3 - 5 strands of hair that are thin in diameter when I shower or comb.
  9. Thanks for replying Melvin. I made another post that I don't know if you read or not. Sometimes while shampooing every other day I would see 20 - 25 strands of hair in the drain. The days when I don't shampoo and I just rinse my hair I see about 5 - 10 strands and when I shampoo I see 15, 20 and as high as 25 strands. Should I be concerned? Also is it normal to sometimes shed hair that is thinner in diameter then other strands? They are the same length just thinner. Sometimes when combing or showering the majority of the hair I find is the same thickness, but I would sometimes find 3 - 5 strands of hair that appear thinner then the rest. Is this a concern or is it normal to have some hair that is thinner in diameter on your head as long as its not the majority?
  10. Okay and even thought you lose 10 - 30 strands does your hair feel and look the same? Should I be concerned about finding thin strands of hair in diameter? Also finally what do you guys think about my sides. Do they look thinner or okay? I'm a 31 year old Asian guy with usually thick strands of coarse hair.
  11. Yeah I've read that before. Apparently 50 - 100 hair stands shed a day, but that's throughout the entire day. I sometimes find 25 - 30 strands in a single shower and shampoo session. Is it okay to loose that much at one time if I shampoo every other day?
  12. I shampoo ever other day so one day I shampoo and then the next day in the shower all I do is rinse my hair. I sometimes would loose 10 strands, sometimes 15, sometimes 20 and today I counted 26 strands of hair and I saw about 5 strands of hair yesterday when all I did was rinse. Should I be alarmed like does shedding hair mean hair loss?
  13. Okay so you're saying its thinner in the sense that each strand is more spaced out so you can see more of my scalp especially with pale skin and black hair, but you're not saying its thinner as in the hair strands are getting thinner do to male pattern baldness. Is that right?
  14. I made a post earlier asking about the sides of my head, but now I'm wondering about overall. Am I losing my hair due to male pattern baldness or am I okay. Some details include that I'm a 31 year old asian that has thick black coarse asian hair and my scalp and skin is pale. My hair is usually very spiky when short and turns into a bob when long. My dad started thinning in his late 50's, my grandpa is bald, but he's 87 and I never meet my grandpa on my mom side because he passed away, but my mom told me he did have hair in his 50's. I already went to a hair restoration specialist back in 2018 and he told me my hair was fine. I also sent pictures to a hair clinic in early 2018 and early 2019 and they told me my hair looks fine and I went to see a dermatologist around April 2019 and they told me my hair was fine. I was wondering am I losing my hair at all?
  15. I was wondering if someone else can give their opinion too. Please and thank you.
  16. Okay so no signs of male pattern baldness. If I was balding at a natural pace like not aggressive hairloss do you think I’ll keep most of my hair until my late 50s considering that I’m 31 years old right now and the quality of my hair that you see? Also thank you Matt for replying and giving your opinion, but I was wondering if I can get one more person opinion. It’s nothing against you Matt I just like having multiple opinions to be double sure so I was wondering if someone else could give their opinion too.
  17. Thank you for the reply. Yeah my hair when short up to the 1st month after a haircut it sticks out like a porcupine. The sides only start to lye flat after about 2 months without a haircut when it grows long. So my sides are normal? What do you think about my crown and also the back area that I mentioned? When you say my hairline is receding is it receding as in I have male pattern baldness or is it receding to a mature hairline? Like from the picture album showing my hair from April 2019 - May 2020 does it look like my hairline has changed at all? I’ve gotten differing opinions like some say it’s heading towards a mature hairline like I’m a Norwood 1.5 and some say it’s not receding and some say very minor recession not a sign of male pattern baldness. I don’t plan to take any medication at least not for now. I’m hoping to get at least to 50 years old without significant hairloss because hairloss is more common at that age.
