Isn't another pro of FUT and increased number of lifetime grafts, not just 1 sitting? IMO that would be biggest pro.

My opinion: FUE & FUT can yield the same amount of grafts, but FUT would allow more Permanent grafts as they all come from the middle. It would be absolutely impossible to extract exact same amount of grafts from the very same "sweet spot" with FUE as this would leave 1 huge linear scar. So in FUE you'd need to take it from all over.
Also when doing FUE you'd definitely need to get out of standard safe zone NOT just to extract more grafts, but also to make your donor look good. If you focus on NW7 donor and get 7000 grafts from there, it will create obvious drop in density between safe and non safe zone, even if it's done correctly.
That being said, FUE will always have chance of miniaturization, albeit small chance if patient donor has been evaluated properly beforehand and extractions are done accordingly. My case as an example. I'm NW5a. Extractions are done within NW6 area. If I go to NW6 I could possibly get some miniaturization in some grafts taken from the outskirts.
Now, results will definitely look much more natural with FUE as you've got variety of grafts to play with as opposed to FUT thickest grafts (even singles).
Also worth mentioning that FUT is as close to "one and done" scenario as possible. if you have great donor and big head, you can easily get 6000 grafts strip and cover whole top. With FUE this wouldn't be possibly, except very few outliers that have exceptional donor. In FUE you'd need to be careful how many extractions are done in each cm2 in order to avoid permanent shock loss. So FUT would take you to the end result much faster, than FUE could.
Personally I wanted to go with FUT at first, but after Dr. Bisanga analyzed my scalp and said my hair is small and strip wouldn't yield more than 4k grafts, I've decided to go FUE route and praying on my genetics not to get worse while doing my best to prevent further hair loss.
Hey rolandas, quick question. What do you mean Dr.Bisanga said your hair is small? as in diameter? and even if you got a strip of 4k, couldnt you have done fue after that 4k grafts? sorry just confused.

Work looks clean! do you know how many grafts went into the crown and how many into the front?

I was watching @Melvin-Moderator instagram live with Dr.Shapiro, and as a someone who's probably going to be a norwood 6, was wondering if anyone has any examples of these patients? Definitely seems like the way to do for higher norwoods. I was contemplating eugenix because they do well with high norwoods, but i'm not so sure anymore? Still only 25 years old

work looks solid bro. whats your age? Also, Do you happen to know how many grafts were in the hairline and how many in the crown? Would love to see some pre-op pics.
-
looks good, are you planning a second pass at the crown in a year or are you content with the front?
-
any reply about the temporal peaks?

Would you look into getting an FUT?

For someone with your level of hair loss, I'd be hesitant to go to Turkey and do 5-6K grafts. The reason being is doing so will more then likely cripple your future donor supply.
Judging by your post and pics, you are going to need to max out your donor supply. That said, you should take a hard look at FUT. I also don't think 3K upfront will give you the results you want. I suggest doing something like 3500 grafts via FUT, with about 500 going toward crown to hold you over. You would then have to schedule another procedure, which I also recommend as FUT, or a combo of FUT+FUE to reinforce the front a little more; the majority of grafts for your second session would go toward the crown. A mature hairline, which is not bad at all imo, should also be in order.
You will continue to lose more hair so if you go this route, assuming your donor is average, you should have about 2500 or so grafts left via FUE for a third procedure in the future. I would also encourage you to hop on fin + rogaine. That stuff really works.
Which doctors are you speaking with, btw?
this would be the way to go

do you ever plan on getting a transplant in the crown? do you know how many grafts you have left?
-
So i always hear that people take the fue route so that they can shave their hair if their hair transplant doesn't take. My question is what if after going the fut route, we transplant grafts into the fue scar and then shave the head? does this make a difference? are there any examples?
-
No worries, i think you're going to have some great results! how was the distribution the first go around? everywhere? or did they focus on one area

Work looks solid! How many grafts did you get with the fut? and whats your age?
-
Oh okay. I cant tell if you have a small head or not, but beard grafts go a long way on a small head. I dont think your beard would really look sparse if you use them.

did euginex say they would not be able to do the crown this time, but could do it eventually? or they would not do the crown at all?

FUT with Dr Diep 4000 grafts - not satisfied

This is horrible tbh. Maybe @Melvin- Moderator can contact Dr.Diep regarding your case? Whether you chose to follow through with him again or not is up to you, however you should absolutely get information as to what went wrong, especially with 4,000 grafts.
