Very good result!! Can I ask if the patient was started on medication and which ones please?
Dr Freitas seems to be advising dutasteride and oral minoxidil a lot these days? What is his experience with these?
Thanks
Hello. Thank you very much for your question. The patient is in treatment.
The treatments are adapted to the characteristics and needs of each patient. In addition, follow-up is carried out to apply the necessary modifications until a satisfactory result is achieved.
There is no single treatment that is recommended for each patient.- 1

Good morning, ObtuseAlbatross133. I have discussed your case with the doctor and shown the update pictures.
He has told me that possibly there is a vascularization problem in the right area, since the left side is evolving normally.
We will wait to see the final result after 12 months and if the situation has not improved then, the doctor agrees to check you again and make the necessary retouching.
We remain at your disposal.

thank you for your answer. just one more question. when we see fantastic patient cases from your clinic of patients who got away with only one hair transplant. what would you say are the important "qualifiers" that most people would not know, to make it possible for them and your office procedure to achieve those results.
Well, first of all keep in mind that I am not a doctor and I can answer you with general information and the information I can give you should not be taken as a medical point of view.
All our patients are evaluated personally and in detail before the procedure is scheduled.
The work plan, the number of interventions and the implantation design are decided according to multiple variables evaluated, such as the availability of sufficient donor area, the size of the areas that need to be repaired, the type and color of hair, the state of health of the skin, the existence of scars or fibrosis in the scalp, among other aspects.
Another necessary condition to obtain good results is that the patient is able to disconnect from the hair issue through postoperative evolution. It is important that the patient tries not to be permanently thinking about the hair, looking at himself constantly and comparing himself with other cases. This behavior only generates stress and anxiety that do not favor the evolution at all. Each case is unique and its result will never be the same as another since each result involves a multiplicity of variables and personal conditions.
The commitment to the medication regimen indicated by the doctor is also a relevant factor in order to obtain the desired result. -

sorry i misread your comments as "revise " (touch up) to the new hair transplant. but since we are on the subject matter. i see that most of your patient case outcome shows good density. do any of your patients after 12 months opt to do additional density work. judging from the pictures they look like one surgery alone was all that they needed.
Of course. Some cases, due to their complexity or level of alopecia, are considered in two or more interventions, to work different areas or even increase density in areas that due to their dimension it is better to restore in two steps.
Here is an example that is published in this forum: -

what do you mean by revisions are no longer necessary?
The result of a hair transplant can be observed 12 months after the surgery. For this reason, the last revision consultation our patients have is 12 months after the surgery.
If any patient has any specific needs or doubts, he/she can continue to attend check-ups, otherwise it will no longer be necessary. -

@De Freitas ClinicIt's a great result, but @jay80is right, it's at least five years old. Why post this, especially without an update on the patient?
Thank you very much for your inquiry.
We believe that all our results are worth sharing, regardless of the year to which they correspond. We believe that they may inspire or interest people who suffer from a similar degree of alopecia or have a hair type like the one presented.
On the other hand, there may be users of this forum who do not know our YouTube channel and by sharing the case here they can reach it.
On the other hand, regarding updates, we accompany our patients during the twelve months after surgery. After the 12 months, unless they have some punctual need, revisions are no longer mandatory, so our record goes up to one year.
Finally, I consider that a result has value in its quality, in the complexity overcome and in the work done, regardless of the date from which it dates.
Best regards. -

@De Freitas Clinic are online consults still closed?
Good morning, thank you very much for your question.
We do not offer consultations with the doctor via video call, however, we have a remote evaluation protocol that we perform through a form that the patient fills out with your images and some data that we request. Subsequently this information is evaluated by the doctor, who prepares a diagnosis, medical recommendation and personalized budget.
If you are interested talk to me privately and I will tell you the steps to follow.
Yours sincerely. -

In this case the patient has opted for a conservative front line typical of his age and to reinforce the density in the restored areas.

I guess my question now is, is there anything I can do to salvage these results? Would microneedling the recipient perhaps help?
I understand your concern. However, it is too early to draw conclusions.
Please keep in touch with our post-op department and they will give you guidelines to follow. Also, if necessary they will ask you for more images to be evaluated by Dr.- 2

Hello ObtuseAlbatross133, How are you?
We would like to tell you that the evolution is within normal, being possible to notice that one entry evolves more slowly than the other. So it is important to wait until 12 months, where the process can progress to a better situation.
The density obtained with a transplant is normally lower than the natural density, because the same density would be impossible in a single transplant, since the follicles present a skin that makes a physical barrier of approximation. On the other hand, if the density reached were similar to the natural density, the vascularization process would be compromised and consequently the growth.
It is normal that some short hairs that have not been able to be released at the time of washing continue to remain. It is important to continue with the pharmacological treatment and wash the hair daily with greater intensity using the fingertips to release the hairs that have not fallen after 20 days.
The hair will gain body and thickness month by month. It is still too early to obtain such a rapid evolution. It is advisable to disconnect from the hair as stress increases estrogens and androgens, causing low growth.
If you have any doubt you can contact us to offer you the support and information you need.
We remain at your disposal if necessary. Best regards.- 3
