  5. I do not want to be disrespectful to Dr. Shapiro. I called him Ron cos I like the name. Neways, I read both pro-conservative and pro-agressive view. I kind of agree wid both of them. Still do not know what way to go. Being agressive is good cos it gives results in least number of sittings and as some one said that it means less donor scar. I also like the point that doctor shud plan wid long term in mind. By saying that Dr. Feller is agressive is that he told me that he can give me 2500 + grafts and will accomodate them by loweing my hairline but talking the Matt I could see Dr. Shapiro's point too. He said that by lowering hair line initially we might leave lot of gap for balding when the balding progresses. He was not in favor of lowering the hairline and hence he said that he would give me 1500-2000 grafts only in one sitting. That is what I meant by "conservative" and "agressive" approaches. Still confused..do not know which way to go.
  6. I am thinking of HT in next 3 months or so.....Till now, I consulted wid Feller and he recommended 2000- 2500 grafts. I contacted Dr. Ron and he thinks that this number might be just too many for me. He seems to have more conservative approach. Is it true? He tends to endorse Bernstein's approach but I have not heard positive things about Bernstein. I am confused as if why Dr. Ron is suggesting me to go to Bernstein for examination rather than accpeting Dr. Feller's recommendations. What shud I do? I want to get max grafts and I want to go to Dr. Feller for that but then I heard a lot about Ron but then he seems to be very conservative. Do not know what to do and where to go...Help please.

  8. I have heard so much about Ron on this forum and I feel he is one of the top 3 easily. I want to chose him for my HT. But, the only concern I have is that he seems to be very conservative and not very agressive like Dr. Feller and other. What u guys think? Does this shud be also the criteria for chosing Doc? Is being agressive good?

  10. Does Dr. Shapiro uses "lateral split"? What are the benfits of this over the traditional approaches? I went to Dr. Feller today for consultation. He is a decent guy. Seems to me that he is a wuick learner and does not hesitate in picking new techniques. I was reading the "lateral" vs "vertical" split on this forum. COuld not conclusively decide which is good one. ALSO can someone tell if Dr. Shapiro uses it?

  12. Arfy, thanks for ur encouraging and radical remarks. I like ur posts cos they give a different perspective that is very important. I never tried propecia. I know my HT density will not be as good as the unit. But I want to get rid of this unit! So, I guess HT is best option for the transition. I want to go for max grafts and then burn the unit! and shave by hair really short and wait for the new hair to start growing. I am meeting Dr feller tomorow. Any feedbacks on him?
  13. Jotronic, Thanks for the reply. Can I get 4000 grafts in one session? Wid whom?
  14. I put my pics under the older discussion. Please let me know what u guys think where I stand. http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=5696015661&f=1466060861&m=977109563

  16. I plan to see dr. feller of ny this week. Can i have some feedback on him?
  17. Thanks for all the help. I like the idea of "Hair worth" regarding buzzin the hair short after a mega transplant. Cos after 2 weeks both old and new hair will look same. Honestly, Pat's idea of cutting down the unit and then removing it periodically seems to be cumbersome. I am attaching my pics. My hair is wet and u can also see the track (aerial view) made for sticking the HCM unit. I got enough density on back. Coming back to the "hair worth" advice. Won't the new hair sheed off leaving bald gaps for some months before it comes back again? How many think that this idea is feasible. COs i really love this idea. Most do able for me provided my concerns are addreses
  18. Hello everyone. I joined in today. Been reading messages on this site for couple of months now. I am 31 yr old male. Supporting HCM unit for 4 yrs now. Initially I loved it but now I want to get rid of it. Another good part which is now a bad part is that when I got the unit I was not really bald so the transition to unit went un noticed. No one at this point knows about this unit and not even the the girl i am seeing nowadays. I want to get transplant but I want the transition to be as smooth as possible. I know I will not have same density of hair but that is fine. I am ready for a decent density as long as the transition is smooth and natural. Since ideally I shud not wear a unit after transplant. The only possible option that I can think of is to get as much as follicles I can in first sitting and then remove the unit and cut the hair really short almost close to shave off. Then wait for it to grow slowly. This way I can get a smooth transition. I would love to hear from people who were in similar situation and how did they manage the transition. I live in NJ/NY area and would also appreciate if anyone can recommend good doctors who can deal wid my situation.
