  1. Some more details: 1 Follicular unit: 621 grafts 2 Follicular unit: 1815 grafts 3 Follicular unit: 1146 grafts 4 Follicular unit: 550 grafts
  2. I bought a one year supply from Darwin Pharmacy in Brussels. BHR clinic works with them... They do ship abroad. I have 2 months supply of Propecia left, so will continue taking it. I also bought topical finasteride from the same pharmacy.
  3. That's also a concern I have/had... I hope my native hair will not suffer too much trauma. I'm convinced Dr. Bisanga had similar cases (placing grafts between native hairs), so I all should be good... My pre-op hair was getting worse. I was not able to style it how I want it, and was losing a lot. The reason why it looks ok pre-op because it's wavy, it's my natural 'comb over'... I'm glad I did the transplant, now I just have to wait. I'm using Propecia for 18 months and just started with oral minox. Hopefully this will strengthen the native and transplanted hairs...
  4. Never shaved my head before till past Monday. Could have been worse... Unfortunately, not the most professional look to meet clients.
  5. As promised the pictures after the surgery. I'm expecting some better quality pics from the clinic. For now this will do...
  6. I gave the clinic permission to use my case on forums, so they might make a topic. Without exaggeration, I lost around 40-50% from my original density. I used to go to barber twice month. It may appear on the pictures that it’s just mild hair-loss, but it isn’t. My hair is wavy so it covers certain thinning areas. My goal was to fill in the crown, hairline and some other thinning spots Hopefullt my hair will grow fast. It was a two day procedure, and they had to shave my head again today. Hopefully the growth will not be affected by the transplant.
  7. It's more than just the crown. My overall scalp and sides were thinning (you will see on the pictures I will post tomorrow), not sure why it accelerated that fast in the last 6 months. I'm on Propecia for 18 months, no regrowth, maybe just stabilisation. Will switch to oral minox in 6 months. For what it matters I'm 36... The last couple of months I was extremely anxious and whenever people stood behind me, I thought they were looking at my thinning hair. I was always very cautious about it, but the last months it was not healthy anymore.
  8. I have a few topics on this forum regarding my hairloss, which started 4 years ago, probably a bit earlier. I live and work in Hong Kong, and no decent surgeons there. I was searching for other options in the region, I came up with a dude in Thailand and one Singapore. Didn't feel comfortable with both of them. The dude in Singapore charges 60$ for an online consultation, which is ridicules. It's not about the money, but about the principle. I work in healthcare myself, and it's easy for me to see which Docs are good... I've been talking with BHR clinic since 2017. Last month I made decision to move ahead, and they had a spot free in May. Flew over last week to lovely (read depressing) Belgium. I'm originally from Belgium, so I could combine this with seeing my family. Ian from BHR guided me through the process, met Dr. Bisanage last Sunday, day before surgery. Everything went perfect, friendly team... We initially planned for 3,600 grafts, which turned into 4,132 grafts. From the pictures you will probably think this is overkill, but my hair was thinning faster than I can swipe right on Tinder... I will post, after surgery pictures tomorrow. I literally just arrived back at the hotel. Pictures before:
  9. I'm not that young anymore, 35. I contacted Dr. Damkreng two years ago, and he advised me to start with finasteride and oral minoxidil, there was no need for a HT. I started with topical finasteride, and this accelerated my hairless, especially my hairline. Stopped after 3 months, and switched to oral Propecia. I don't really lose more hair, but the shedded hair from topical F, never grew back... Since a few months ago I can'r style my hair as I wanted, and I noticed that I lost a lof of hair on my mid scalp. Still hoping I will achieve some regrowth with Propecia... Dr. B advised for 3600 grafts based on the pictures I've sent him.
  10. Hair-loss started around 5 years. Tried Propecia for three months back in 2017, but had an ache in my balls, so I stopped. Tried Rogaine for a year, but didn't really work. Since 7 months ago I'm on Propecia and back on Rogaine, but I don't see much improvement, it actually got worse. Yes, I know about the shed, but all the hair I shedded in the past from Rogaine, but shedded hair never grew back. I had high expectations of Propecia, although not everyone has regrowth. The last 12 months I have lost a lot of ground, both crown and hairline. When my hair is wet, you can see the balding area from a mile away. My confidence is taking a hit, so I'm planning to proceed with a hair transplant. I'm based in Hong Kong, unfortunately no good options here. I'm originally from Belgium, so BHR clinic is the obvious choice, due to Covid-19 I have no idea when I can fly to Belgium. I was thinking of Dr. Damkreng in Bangkok. How experienced is he in comparison with Dr. B? Apparently I need around 3,600 grafts.
  11. I quit minoxidil, was on it for 12 months. Didn’t do anything. Maybe even more harm than good. Currently only on Propecia. Started with 0.5mg for the first 1.5months, now on 1mg. On it for 5.5months. Now regrowth, but hair loss stabilized. When I wash my hair, I have around 5-10 hairs in my hands. No serious side effects, maybe lower libido, but that’s ok. I’m still hoping for some regrowth, although I heard it rarely happens. Shedded hairs that I lost 6-9 months ago, haven’t grown back yet.
  12. My hair started to thin out around 5 years ago, never paid too much attention to it seeing I had too much hair. Back in 2016 I started to with propecia, but stopped after two months seeing my balls hurt a bit. I also used Rogaine, but that product is overrated, at least for me. Last year I started with Topical finasteride, but this made everything worse, hairline was receding and crown is now so thin that when my hair is wet, you can see my scalp form far away. I stopped with topical Finasteride. In September I decided to go back on oral Propecia (Don't want to take the generic brand), and so far no sides, I think. My semen is not watery, libido is still high, maybe keeping an erection is a bit more difficult but I think thats just in my head. I did a no-fap test for two weeks, after two weeks I had a one night stand, and no issues keeping it hard. Although I don't really have morning erections, but that's probably because I have some sleeping issues. I had a shed, both from topical, and one from oral Finasteride. The shed from topical was bad, I lost 20-30% of my density. What I noticed was that all the hairs that shedded were dark brown, and very stiff. My hair is dark blond and wavy, so I assume the hairs that shedded were unhealthy. I remember when my dad was balding he only had these dark brown stiff hairs left. Question is, will my hair grow back? I'm on Propecia now for 4.5 months, and no regrowth. I'm considering to do a first hair transplant to lower may hairline, and fill in my crown, so I can have better density. I used Rogaine for 12 months, but no results, so I stopped using it last week. I know I have to wait for at least 12 month to see results with Propecia, but obviously I'm impatient. I know everyone asks the same questions, but do people here have regrowth form Propecia? My hairloss is stabilised now. I stopped using Rogaine last week, seeing after 12 months I didn't see any difference. I'm 34, if that matters. Below three pictures. Don't want to post a pic where my hair is wet, its depressing. the shed extended to my middle and right side of my scalp. Pictures are taking last and and this month.
  13. Hi Bill, Thank you for your input. My decision is based on my own preference and my research I did, and Dr. Bisnanga will be my choice. I believe that both doctors you have mentioned are excellent. I'm very cautious when it comes to my health. Whenever I'm sick, I always call a family doctor or surgeon in Europe, before I go to a hospital in Hong Kong. I will never have any kind of surgery in Asia, this is just out of principle. As mentioned in my opening post, I'm active in Healthcare, and for me its easy to compare Asia vs. Europe/US. I'm not here to bash or troll this forum. I feel more safe in Belgium (which is my home country, although I'm living abroad since 2009), for a hair transplant than in Asia. Its just a personal preference. I will try Finasteride topical solution.
  14. Superdudeo, Thank you for your post. Once I stopped taking it, the pain was gone after a few days. Without bashing hair transplant surgeons and dermatologists, but whenever I talk about it with some of my clients (surgeons specialised in cancer), they strongly advise me not to take Finasteride. I trust their opinion.I'm considering the topical solution though. Question is, shall I proceed with a hair transplant in the next coming months, or wait till it gets worse.
  15. HT soon, Thanks for the reply. I didn't try reducing the dosage, I still have two or three months supply of Finastride left. What do you recommend? Cut a pill in two? I'm very cautious starting again. The pain in my testies was a warning sign not the continue with Propecia. I was looking into the topical solution of Finasteride. None of the clinics in Hong Kong sell it. Can I purchase this online? At some point I need a transplant. If I compare my hair with last year, it thinned out faster than I can swipe right on Tinder. If I compare my hair with last year, I lost a lot. See picture below. My hair was also thicker
  16. Dear All, Unfortunately male pattern baldness runs in my family. So far, I always had a nice full thick set of hair, till last year. My hair thinned out faster than I expected, although no bald spots yet. How shallow it maybe, looks are important to me, and my hair is part of my identity. Since last year I wake up everyday and look in the mirror, and I loose my confidence. Although its not that bad yet. I decided to go for a hair transplant. I'm an expat living in Hong Kong, but I will not do a transplant in Asia. Just a matter of principle. I work in healthcare myself, and Asia runs behind when it comes to almost every aspect of Healthcare, with a few exceptions of Japan and Singapore. I decided to do proceed with a transplant with Dr. Binsanga. Yes, if I go to Thailand, I pay half the price of Dr. Binsanga, but I only have one chance to do this right, so the costs is not really an issue. My questions is shall I proceed in the next coming months, or shall I wait one more year. See pictures below. I was on Propecia for three months, but f^%K that. Had pain in my testies, felt depressed, etc. I'm still on Rogaine, but I think thats also an overrated product. I'm still relatively young, 33, and don't want to ruin my future by taking medications.
