  1. In regards to FUE, what are the negatives of transplanting into the same area multiple times? For example, if I have 1000 grafts placed in my crown in my first procedure and 2000 grafts in the crown in the second procedure is this better or worse than a single procedure with 3000 grafts placed in the crown? What are all the negatives (or positives) for each of these? I've read that the scarring of the donor scalp from FUE makes subsequent FUE sessions more difficult - does this mean the likelihood of having a second procedure in the same area as the first is risky for the growth of the grafts placed in the second procedure? I don't understand fully the meaning of this. Would appreciate replies from those who have knowledge about this.
  2. https://i.imgur.com/w5Hwowj.jpg But have more miniaturized hair than in pic in the front and temples I'm a nw3v but diffusing on top more in the crown. My expectations to rebuild hairline and temples and for more density there. I possibly might be willing a 2nd ht for the crown assuming the 1st for the hairline is a success. I am committed to fin. But like said my main concern is possible loss of the miniaturized hairs and shock loss in other areas where grafts are placed/taken
  3. I have a lot of miniaturized hairs some short in length some longer about 2-4cm in the front along my hairline and frontal/core regions. I'm thinking of having an HT to increase density and rebuild my hairline but I'm worried I'm going to make it worse than it already by getting a HT done with miniaturized hairs (especially since my hair is diffused thinning). Docs I've read about say shock loss is rare but they also say miniaturized hair could fall out (I presume they underplay the chances of both these things happening). Can I get an unbiased view on what I should do or what are actual chances these smaller non-terminal hairs will fall out? I'm back on fin for about 11 months by the way. Do you think I should wait like 6 more months to hope fin grows these miniaturized hairs into terminal before getting a HT? Is it ok to get a HT even with these miniaturized hairs or could a HT make my situation worse?
  4. Hi, I'm 24 and thinking about getting a FUE HT (won't be doing FUT). I'm a little young but have thought about it for years and since my hair loss seems stabilized on Fin and my family history is not too bad I'm leaning towards doing a HT (all 50+ males on mom's sides were around nw3.5 or less and my dad who I think I take after is a nw5 at age 60). First noticed thinning when I was 19, was on Minox for about a year but saw no change and went from nw2 to nw3 with more diffuse thinning within 6 months after stopping, loss before then was pretty gradual. jumped on fin about 6 months after that). I've been on fin now for about 2 years now with no sides and have pretty much maintained my hair without any further loss and I plan to take it indefinitely. I'm around a NW3V-ish right now but my forehead has always been kind of big which makes it look a little worse at the front. My temples are pretty barren (with some vellus and some thin hairs left) and I'm diffusing on top (especially the crown and some in the middle, diffusion on a scale of 1-10 being the worst is about a 5). My hair is fine or medium-fine, black color, probably straight-wavy on top (not 100% though, the back of my head hair gets pretty curly when long so I guess it depends on density) and my donor area and sides have no thinning as far as I can see. Below are just reference pics (will post actual pics of hair when I get my new phone for better quality) My hairline looks like from the front maybe slightly more diffused in the forelock: https://www.restorehairclinics.com/media/4276/screen-shot-2017-04-17-at-191655.png My hairline looks like from the side: https://i.imgur.com/y1YAQ1X.jpg My crown sort of looks like this pic but with very slightly more diffusion throughout the middle: http://www.norwoodscale.com/scales/nw3v/nw3v.jpg I was thinking to mainly to get grafts to reinforce the thinning forelock/front, bring my hairline slightly down maybe 1-2cm, fill in the temple regions and some grafts in the start of my side hair (do they do grafts here? I would like to bring my sides a bit more into my forehead). Would like it as dense as possible so please suggest how many grafts you think can be done in 1-2 sessions (tips on whether 1 or 2 sessions is best for me would also be great). I thought I would avoid the mid region but I was thinking of getting some grafts into my crown. Maybe ~1000 grafts in the crown but not sure if that would give a visual difference. I've also heard crown grafts can be a tricky one where the returns may not be worth it or even make it worse since I still have hair there (not sure if being on fin changes this worry for shock loss). Your insights would be very much appreciated, thanks
