I recently received my third transplant session from Dr Scott Alexander in Phoenix, AZ. The prior two were with other physicians in the Phoenix Metro Area for 1,400 and 1,200 grafts, 14 and 6 years ago respectively. Those earlier procedures felt more like a high pressure sales environment from the sale rep AND the doctors. While I don't begrudge anyone from making a living, it made me question their motives. Dr Alexander never made me feel that way, the focus was on getting the best results that aligned with my needs, not his. Ironically I did more grafts with him and felt right about that decision.
As for the actual procedure, Dr Alexander spent more time than the prior two docs prepping my donor area, always making sure I felt comfortable, and being very deliberate in the positioning of the tightly packed grafts. Following the surgery I went home knowing exactly the protocols to ensure the best results.
For what it's worth, my only mistake was not going to Dr Scott Alexander the first time.
