Hi gents meant to update sooner but with lockdown etc not had chance. Hopefully everyone is keeping safe and hairs are growing well. I am currently 5 and a half months in after my touch up and am very happy. I have noticed my front has thickened up nicely and still have months to go, I go out no products or gels and it looks natural and never had anyone question if I've had a ht. I am waiting for the oral minoxidil kicking in apparently around 6months as I have noticed my crown thinning since I stopped oral minoxidil. Anyway pics below different views one lockdown no haircut and then one where my wife's trimmed it and think shes done a good job anyway keep good and stay safe

Very impressed with your result and the density you have achieved so far.

I'd say that's quite an incredible improvement for a mere 2500 grafts with A LOT of ground to cover. Curious to see pics of the donor/top down as well.

Are you thinking of using body hair to add some more density?

Thanks. And yes, I am looking forward to have a 2nd surgery next year using some scalp hair along with Beard and chest hair.

  3. I would seriously suggest to have in person consultation with DR Konior. I had the same exact problem when I sent my pictures to Dr Konior initially. But when I had in person consultation, things went better than I expected.  Finally, I had a surgery with 2500 grafts (approx).  Dr. Konior used  combination of small strip(FUT) and some FUE.

It got only possible when he checked my hair physically.

Recently, I had another consultation with doctor for a 2nd surgery  where he suggested me the plan to get combination of FUE scalp (very small number to define the base ) + Beard Hairs + some chest hairs. (Totaling around 1500-2000 grafts).

So in nutshell, don't loose hope as you still may have option to use body hairs and combining multiple ways(FUT+ FUE) to get desired quality grafts. I would strongly suggest to meet Dr. Konior.

  4. Folks,

Apologies for loosing track of this thread as I got occupied with other things in life. I would post some pictures soon.

Almost 11 months have passed since my surgery . Everything is looking fine. My hair have grown well and has completely changed my front look. Only little downside I faced is thin donor on the back but I am fine with that considering how much of a difference it has made on my front look.

Now I think that it is time that I should start focusing on mid scalp and crown area and would schedule personal consultation with doctor  to see what are my options (BHT....May be if possible??).

Please share if some of you came across certain threads related to body hair transplantation, and if that is a reliable option.

Wow very happy for you Nick, the hair is looking awesome. We can add this to the long list of Dr. Konior's success stories. Please keep us updated. I'm sure this thread is going to be inspiring for many guys out there in a similar situation.

Thanks Melvin. Still waiting to get little more density on the center right but pretty much satisfied with my HT with the number of grafts used.

Looking forward for another surgery to fix my crown. During initial discussion, Dr K suggested that he can use my chest hair to fix my crown in the 2nd surgery (due to limited donor area at the back of my head). Have you come across any successful cases with chest hair used as Donor. Can you share any if you know.

  6. @HairsHoping

You are doing great buddy. Look at you, such a transformation with just 1500 grafts is amazing. I am happy for you. By this time you might be started getting  2nd looks (I can relate :)  )

I am in the same boat and got my transplant from Dr Konior in Sept(couple of months behind). Met Dr Nadimi next day after my Surgery. Both Dr Konior and Dr Nadimi came to check on me during my 1st day post op cleaning. She is nice.

  7. Here is the update at 4 months. Not a significant change since the last update. Little bit of more growth but still hoping for more density specially on the right side as you can observe that it is lagging behind as compared to the left side.

Couldn't get the picture of the scar as might need some hand to capture it. Wasn't able to find by myself :). Will get it in the next update.

Hopefully things should be better by next month. Let me know what you people think.

Oh ok that's how it works... yeah I was going to ask you about the time the grafts were out of the scalp as well so thank you for answering that. Are his prices $8 per FUE graft and $5 per FUT graft like most of the other clinics or did he charge you one rate for the two different extraction types?

    Hi Kiwi Guy,

In my case it was different for FUT and FUE. For more details regarding your case, you can directly reach his office and get the quotes.
