  1. btw i was joking abt the 2 cases.. it is safe.. n path is a great n very professional doctor..
  2. Sam.. i didnt get any disease.. in fact i took a small break rite after n did start drinking as well.. just that its been sometime ( so i dont remember wat dos n dont they specificied) but the doc tells u to clean ur scalp in a specific way so follow that.. Again in my case the hair looks normal.. n i am really happy with the result.. but u have to be patient for atleast 4-5 months.. i am telling u after 6 mths.. u will start getting compliments.. dont worry ..even i was scared before getting it done.. infact there were one or two post of people dying .. but thankfully i am alive..
  3. i didnt feel a thing... and i am pretty sure neither will u.. just ensure ur scalp is reasonably lax.. Well whether i will get a good growth or not.. that is something i will have to wait and see.. but honestly the surgery was actually a piece of cake..
  4. I am an Asian too.. and I stay in a place where people are very conscious about how they look.. the scar is long but thin.. so even if you have 1/2 inch long it wont show (again it wont be invisible)..if u are working I would suggest that u take 2 weeks off post op.. I got mine removed after 5 days i.e. the stitches .. pain.. well I was concerned prior to surgery.. infact my BP shot up big time ... but during the procedure and post there was no pain ( and i am not trying to be macho here).. it was a bit uncomfortable for the first 3 days..in fact was out having fun after the first two...just take it easy for the first 2-3 days.
  5. Whether to lower the hairline or not is also a personal choice...in my case wanted a natural dense look so opted for just filling up the frontal area. Just keep in mind that if you opt for lowering the hairline and increasing the density in the frontal area, the number of grafts would go up...but as pathspatient mentioned it's always better to talk to the doctor about it...
  6. Yes indeed we might have run into each other PathsPatient...there were a couple of other patients on all the days that I went to the clinic!!!! Just keeping my fingers crossed...have to play the waiting game now...will keep everyone updated and post my pics soon!
  7. hi there wb 280! no need to worry mate...everything would go fine in the capable hands of Dr. Path...one can't help being nervous but the moment one steps into his clinic and meets him and his team, they immediately put you at ease... The scar is long...ear to ear...if you keep your hair about an inch long it won't b visible...in my case since the area to be transplanted was shaved, I simply got a buzz cut the day my stitches were removed!!! Will be posting my pics soon...would be happy to answer any other questions that u might have.
  8. Just got back from Bangkok myself...I stayed at the Pullman Hotel (near the Victory monument)...its 2 stops away from the clinic...you can walk down to the skytrain stop (hardly a 5 minute walk) or just take the free hotel shuttle service...the cost was around THB 2500/- per night inclusive of breakfast. (They have a great spread for breakfast). Basically just takes max. 15 min. to get to the clinic so was pretty convenient. Hope this helps.
  9. Have been reading this forum for close to two years trying to figure out the best HT doc. Well finally took the plunge and went ahead with my HT with Dr. Path on Feb.10. Thanx a lot to Bill for starting this forum...would have been totally lost otherwise...and also thanx to all the members who shared their experiences with me helping me come to a decision and clearing a lot of me doubts. Arrived in Bangkok on Feb.9 and straightaway went to the clinic for my pre-op...had a thorough discussion with Dr. Orovan for about an hour...she explained the whole procedure in great detail...we discussed the number of grafts arriving at about 2000 grafts.(Since was not looking at increasing my hairline. I was looking at increasing the density both in the front and on the crown...however after a lot of thought finally decided to just concentrate on the front and think of the crown a couple of years down the line...something that was recommended by both Dr. Path and Dr. Orovan). Finally left with the pre-op instructions and shampoo to use on my hair both at night and in the morning. Was really nervous the day of the surgery...but Dr. Path's team did a great job of soothing my nerves. Dr. Path himself is a thorough professional who made sure that I was thoroughly at ease before he started with the procedure...was drifting in and out of consciousness...do remember somebody massaging my feet for some time...Dr. Path also showed me the grafts...took about 8 hours in all with 2300 grafts to show. Had some discomfort at night but slept well...went for my first shampoo session the next day...took it slow for the first 2 days and then had a blast for the next 7. Was wearing a headband for about 5 days since did have some swelling. Got my stitches off on the 6th day. It has been 20 days and feel absolutely fine...the scar is healing well and the scabs have fallen off...keeping a positive frame of mind... All in all I must say that Dr. Path and his team are truly amazing...be it the front desk, nurses or assistants...nobody gave me any reason to complain...at least till now am totally satisfied...will be uploading my pics soon...
  10. Thanx there Bill for your input....it really did help...did not realise that was perhaps questioning the forum which I wasnt (i guess my bald spot was really itching that day)...since have shortlisted Dr. Path based on the recommendations provided on this forum itself!!!!! Some of the members have been really helpful and forthcoming. And thanx to this forum .. i might be having a hair full head soooon
  11. I am not sure whether u need a transplant.. anyhow but did u actually had the HT done by Dr.Path??
  12. Still no response from you ... does that mean u had no basis of choosing him... maybe that is the reason why u cant respond to my basic question... This forum cant be basis for choosing a doctor.. because it is just a forum...
  13. Did u have any complication?? I hope Dr. Path did a good job
  14. would appreciate if you could respond to my question thanx
  15. you have mentioned in your blog that you shortlisted the doc based on recommendations.. are you talking about recommendation on this forum? how u managed to judge that his work is superior to others.. I am planning to go to him.. but just want to be sure
