  1. If you have any questions I will do my best to help answer/ support you. Just drop me a message with any questions and will get back to you if you need it. The questions about money and the flight home were some of the concerns I had when I went to Asmed in January. Cheers stuart

Shanson are you happy with your results so far from January? I think the last time you updated your thread was at 5 months and things seemed pretty good already to say the least!

  2. Funny as it sounds there may be a benefit of taking something very similar to laughing gas. Apparently NO, Nitric oxide (not N2O which is laughing gas), has potential beneficial effects on wound healing, reducing inflammation and can help in the formation of new capillaries. Useful! How do you alter the NO pathway in the body? Simple! You pop a Viagra! Several studies have shown that the active ingredient in Viagra, sildenafil, has been beneficial in a number of wound related situations. Here's a link to a systamatic review of several studies:

Maybe someone should try it and let us know how their recovery goes! On a serious note, perhaps taking an Arginine supplement might help as this also helps with NO. There is evidence that Omega-3 supplementation along with Arginine can help wound healing:

Taking these simple food supplements prior to and immediately after a transplant is more reasonable than popping Viagras and science says they may be beneficial.

  3. Thanks very much for your update HairDew. I'm sure it will all turn out great for you. It's reassuring that Asmed has been treating you well. I'll be there in 3 weeks time so I really appreciate you keeping us informed. I've checked and I'm pretty sure I don't have any scars on my head that might cause a problem!

  4. Best of luck that everything is ok for you HairDew. I echo the post of HairInspector that the response of Asmed will be very important to those of us who are booked in for future treatment. I am also scheduled for surgery there soon. I'm sure there will be others who would be extremely grateful if you could keep us informed on your progress.
