  1. I don't think its an illusion. There is a difference between good and bad ht result.  If you have an average result, the way you style your hair could change the look drastically. Of course no hair transplantation can bring your 18 year old density but if the growth rate is around %90s and densely packed, no matter you comb the hair in any way the look wouldn't drastically change. In this video I don't think there is a lightening trick that you can understand how dense his hair is by looking at his hairline and the location is not that dark. Plus, seeing the scalp with wet hair doesn't mean that the hair is not dense enough and there is an illusion.

  2. One of the best results of Dr. Erdogan, maybe the best. You are really lucky. Could you please put some pictures of 1-3 months? Did you experience shock loss and how was it. It is important to see those to know if small shock loss helped this kind of great result. And I believe you took dutasteride throughout this period, did you take any other supplements or vitamins? Thanks.

  3. I would trust Dr Erdogan and go with him. He plans for the future that he won't waste your grafts if you have limited for the future. He is professional and ethical enough don't worry. Also with his extraction method 30% of the donor grows back. I believe for the temples he is the best aesthetically.

  4. That is exactly how it is with me. I haven't been sleeping at all because of it. I thought maybe I had something wrong with me but the more I research the more I find it does happen to allot of people. I am really hoping for a great result! I love the aggressive hairline! I hope the Fin kicks in and helps the process along.

The pain in the donor area lasts for at least 10 days.. I took 2 or 3 strong painkillers everyday at that time. It was really annoying and painful without the painkiller. 4700 grafts from Erdogan.

  5. Really bordering on continuous D-bag type of commentary here...

If you want to debate FUE vs FUT probably would be best to do it in a separate thread and not hijack Ernie's HT#2 experience thread.

First of all if you've ever interacted with Ernie you would know from his positiveness and confidence that his results have had an amazing impact on him.

Second, an objective comparison of the pre-op vs 12 month results on page 21 of his original thread shows the outcome was certainly better than just "good."

I added a collage of the pics below in case you're too lazy to go back and really check the images.

    http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/182611-fut-3185-dr-rahal-day-after-pics-21.html

And as someone who has undergone smaller FUE procedures after FUT, I think he did the right thing not going to a doctor who is located in a geopolitically unstable area currently and is known to use ridiculous graft counts even in smaller cases.

I am a fan of Erdogan and have researched him thoroughly, but he would not be my first choice for smaller touchup procedures given how many grafts he likes to use.

Tell me how the result is "nothing special"...

I am not going to go through this and enter into an argument. I said what my opinion is and still think that way. I hope everyone gets the result they want at the end.

  6. 4000 grafts in the frontal third is overkill in any scenario. If you're happy with you're result that's fantastic I'm happy for you. But you're donor has a dramatic thinning now visible compared to the very dense nape area that hasn't been touched. If you grow it out it will also feel much different. Strips maintain density, maintain yield, reduce fibrosis, etc. They both have they're place, but for mega sessions, strip is the only responsible option.

No, not only in the frontal. 1000 to the vertex and 800 to the sides. I agree strips maintain density but still I would not prefer having a scar on my head in my whole life. The photo is taken just 10 days after 0 blade cut and under professional lights that is taken by the clinic. Even the untouched hair might look like that if its that short. You wouldn't recognize it in real life that no one realized I had a hair transplant after the peeling. Everybody thought I just had a buzz cut for summer :) And when you grow it out its impossible to suspect any thinning on the donor area. Whatever I don't want to ruin Ernie's thread, if you guys are happy its the most important thing.

  7. The case you posted in that link is ridiculous! Firstly the pre op photos are shown with WET hair and post op with DRY. Secondly, the hair loss wasn't that bad but, as is a feature of Dr Erdogans Work, he uses far too much finite donor hair on lower Norwood cases. This does not bide well for the future!

The post op photos were posted by the client, but its obvious that the result is a success even though its dry. Why would it be ridiculous, are you blind? And he always plans it for the future. For example in my case he counted by donor capacity as 8000 grafts and saved the other 4000 for the future. So I don't think he uses too much grafts, its all planned and I believe using as much as grafts makes it more natural..

  8. I've meet with Dr.Erdogan himself for consultation and I believe everything posted about him is exaggerated. Let me tell you what I've observed during all the meeting.

    1) He does not ask you what you expect or want. He simply begins the conversation with what he can do and want to do. It is like that your plan or request in mind does not matter to him.

    2) He is all about advertising. I mean, when I was waiting in the lounge I had these papers to fill up. First page is about your situation but second page is completely about "where did you hear of us" and there a lot of forums around the world listed on the paper. This forum is just one among the other over dozen forums.

    3) Take a real, I mean real, look at the Before/After photos. In before photos, hair is wet and combed under bright light in order to show the scalp beneath the hair. When you look at the photos, you think "Wow! My situation is really worse than I've thought." However, in the after photos, hairs are completely dry and bulky as if it's adjusted. Not wet, not combed to show scalp. So, it seems tricky to me. Photos are not taken under equal conditions.

    4) He is extremely picky. He cares about foreigner customers more than Turkish customers. In fact, his website is in almost every language except Turkish. You know, there are forums in Turkish for people in Turkey. They think of Dr. Erdogan ridiculously expensive. And most of them were turn down by the doctor himself with any kind of excuse. It is like there is a standard to be a patient of him.

    5) Many people have written about the pill issue. He would want you to take Finansterid, Minoxidil and etc. before the surgery and want you to use for regular long period after the surgery. He, then which is the issue, wants you to use the pills forever. So, 2 years after the surgery, if you decide to quit all pills and sprayings, you will face some consequences that you may not like. Basically, you are chained to pills or he doesn't accept your case.

These are only my opinions and observations about his work. I've read and viewed a lot of cases of him in my quest to find good doctor for myself. I think the best ones are in US. Turkey is not a hair-transplant paradise as much as you think. If you would have known Turkish and read the comments written by locals, then you would understand.

    I hope I've helped.

I’ve had my hair transplant procedure in ASMED and most of your claims are wrong.

    1) First of all, he asks what you expect and want. Of course he will state his opinions before yourself because he is the professional and your are the client. He listens and your requests matter to him, in fact he changed my hairline upon my request. Why wouldn’t he do something if it is reasonable?

    2) It is a World Class clinic and those are typical questions. Why are you criticising his advertising or marketing approaches? Just LOOK at his results! If he is a good surgeon with good results, why is it bothering you? What is your point?

    3) Your are giving wrong information again, he also puts after photos with wet hair. People are not stupid and he is smart enough not to try those cheap tricks. Those are the tricks and illusions that average surgeons do. I don’t think you can talk negative about the success rate of his hair transplants, I haven’t seen a bad one.

    4) Yes he is picky. In hair transplant, apart from the surgeon, hair quality is the most important factor. He is not one of those surgeons who would work on anyones hair to make more money. He has work ethics and professional enough that he doesn’t want to work on something which he doesn’t believe it would be successful at the end. He has a good reputation and wants to keep it!

    5) He did not want to me to take Finasteride or Minoxidil, your are giving wrong information again. Even though I’ve been on fin for 3 years, he said I have enough donor for future and I don’t have to take fin. However, I know that for some clients who have weak donor, he suggest you to take Fin and I believe it is a must.

I don’t know why are you stating all those wrong and negative comments about someone who has proved himself for years in this field. He is even teaching some unique skills like “KEEP” to the world class surgeons in his workshops. I believe we are lucky to have someone like Koray Erdogan and he is the best surgeon in hair transplant industry. Before and after photos don’t lie!

  9. If you saw Ernie's amazing results from his first FUT procedure with Dr. Rahal you would have to agree with him that he would be crazy to go elsewhere for the second round.

Work looks very clean as expected, good healing to you man and here's hoping for early growth for you.

I saw his first procedure, that is why I commented FUT wouldn't worth it. I don't think its an amazing result. Its a good result but nothing special. If you think its amazing check out Koray Erdogan's FUE works. Here I put an example,

    Koray Erdo

  10. /

San Diego, you're not concerned at all?

no I'm not concerned because I trust Dr. Erdogan 100%. That's why I chose him and I know that the result will be great. I also research a lot and it is all normal. The real reason of that is not the shock loss. Since you had thousands of holes and serious injections on your head, the blood circulation is weak around that area and that prevents your native hair to grow. So actually its not a shock loss. Make sure you get your fin daily. In my case its already getting better each day. Be patient and don't think about your hair at least for 4 months. At the end you will realize that you freaked out for nothing.
