  1. I second what gambler said.

I had a mega session with Dr. Umar in January of 2016, which consisted of 6500 beard, body, and the little head hair I had left from prior procedures.

I noticed that things started to really escalate for me around the 6-7 month mark. However, with beard and body hair transplantation, I noticed growth and thickening all the way up to the 18 month mark.

  2. You definitely may want to reconsider this. There isn't too much information on FUE clinics in Iran throughout the message boards.

I strongly recommend doing your due diligence before making this decision. My objective advice is to also save your money, for as long as it takes in order to get a good surgery, hence a good result.

    Good luck!

  3. Good luck bud, and thanks for sharing your story.

I had a similar result with Dr. Umar last January of 2016. He gave me a result that I couldn't even imagine after having 4 botched procedures. I'm having my second one with him in 2 weeks, and unlike having anxiety over uncertainty, I am genuinely excited for my surgery for I know he will just add on to my already great result.

This is what "hair restoration" should be.

  4. Really interesting, and quite frankly, judging by its length, a controversial one.

Everyone has had both good and bad FUSS and FUE procedures. Ultimately it comes down to 2 things: If one can accept having a scar at the expense of a good result, and who the surgeon is that is conducting the procedure, for some are better at producing good FUE results, while others generate strong FUSS ones.

  5. Hi DJ,

From what i've heard, and my understanding it is for 2 reasons. The first is the blood flow in the crown area is different than that from the front. Therefore, results in the crown may take longer to fully manifest themselves. The second reason is dependent on the surgeon and his/her track record of work. My first 4 procedures were botched by two different surgeons (of which the last 2 were attempted repairs). They entailed crown work, but to no avail. Dr. Umar was the only one that gave me significant coverage and density throughout the front and back (NW 6), which is why i booked a second procedure with him in October. Do your research on the clinic and surgeon before booking, and I'm sure it'll bode well for you.

    Good luck.

  6. I don't see why he would not be a good choice for you. Apart from your intuition, i strongly recommend for you to do as much due diligence as possible on the doctor, as well as the clinic. Some clinics even offer to meet past patients in person so that one can see the work up close and personal.

That is about as much as you could do to alleviate your trepidation.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

  7. I think a lot of it depends on what NW you are when you've had your procedure. Dr. Sanusi Umar recommended me not to take propecia after my mega session with him last January. However, the variable that came into play is that I had 4 botched procedures before my surgery with him, but he told me that there's no reason for me to continue taking it due to my procedure with him encompassing all of my balding areas.

  8. Mattj is right,

However, in my case, I was butchered 4 times by 2 different doctors. Dr. Umar restored my temples using chest and beard hair because I was donor depleted. I am having my second round with him in October to complete my hair loss journey. If only I had known of him in retrospect. He literally saved me by using my body hair. One can only imagine what he would have been able to do with a fully intact donor

    Hope this helps.
