  1. I am currently 29 years old. I have no idea when my hair loss started since I used to be in denial. We don't really have a history of balding in any side of the family. Only other person that seems to be balding in our fam is one of my cousin who has some kind of a down syndrome so I am not sure if there could.be an underlying health issue that affects his hair loss.

I am now considering hair transplant since it has gotten so bad, the right side of my hair seems to be norwood 2.5/3 while the left just aggressively receded this Jan after using a Saw Palmetto spray which I never thought could worsen the situation. Left is now probably Norwood 2.

Since I've been seeing that hair loss needs to be stabilized.before going for ht. How would I know when it would stop when there's no one in my fam to be used as reference?

I also dont think I want to wait, since I am not exactly young anymore. I want to squeeze and enjoy the most out of my remaining "younger years". As my hair loss has massively affected me emotionally.

What could be my best option?

I agree with the previous responses, in case of genes such problem can appear accidenatlly and not in every generation :( From the pics I saw I say too that it's not the time for transplantation, you'll need to wait some time for it... And yeah, taking propecia is a nice idea :o

Also some of such tips as here on MachoHairstyles can be useful for making the general effect better, especially the ones connected with the vitamins and more healthy daily diet :o

Natural oils and green tea juice can be helpful too, some guys in such ways restored their hair greatly, I personally saw them on some other resources :o

  2. When I see the likes of Brad Pitt at 50 with a head of hair that would flatter a 25 year old or Tom Cruise at 50+ with the same, the last Steve McQueen who died at 50 with a great head of hair I am so envious! When you look at so many of the great or famous Hollywood stars, virtually all of those that women swooned over or were poster boys had no balding pates or balding areas on the crown like me

. I started balding at 42 but it was not really noticeable until 45 onwards. Up until 40 I had a great head of hair and thought I had escaped the fate of my older brother, who although only 15 months older started balding in early 20s and was the classic horseshoe by 30 or so. Well I am not at that stage even now maybe as I started finistaride at 51!

Anyway I digress! My point is a ramble of how bloody unfair this hair issue is as having a well thatched scalp makes a huge difference to the looks and marketability of so called stars. Any balding stars have had to shave down their heads as its not 'cool' or sexy enough to sport a bald patch on the crown. They are very much in the small minority such as Vin Diesel but generally not in same category as Newman, Dean, Redford, Heston, Swayzee, Pitt, Cruise, Butler etc etc... the only one exception possibly Willis but again him :)having to shave well down.http

Oh, can't not to agree with you, even if this thread is old! But it's such a truth that having bald spots isn't considered fashionable at all, you said the right things that some celebrities still have cool hair even in a very mature age and the other prefer to keep their heads shaven in case of the hair loss...:) Well, personally I think that the second idea is better in all cases, especially if the bald spots are too big and can't be covered with the other hair cut...:P

And yeah I'm envious too, especially when I look through the pics of some celebrities you mentioned, like Brad Pitt for example, here's on machohairstyles many examples of how lucky he is...:D I wish I could have the same look in my 50s but I feel that I'll need to shave my head in the future like Bruce Willis too :(

  3. 1. Massage your hair with coconut oil. It will increase the blood circulation in your head.

    2. Eat nutritious food that is required for hair growth.

    3. Apply Aloe Vera gel on your scalp.

    4. Keep your hair nourished with Ayurveda hair oils.

    5. Do not use harmful chemicals to your hair.

    6. Wash your hair daily.

    7. Try to avoid coloring your hair with artificial products.

A very useful thread, can't not to bump it! :o I agree with all those tips, I try to use them too and they're really helpful! :) I also can add that avoiding too much stress is important in such case too, as also not over washing your hair, here's on machohairstyles.com more interesting information about it :o I can say from my own experience that over washing isn't really so good as it can seem, such often procedures cause damage for your scalp, especially if you use the low-quality products...:(

And yeah, massages with oils are very cool, personally I prefer in such case such natural oils as coconut and argan one, they're extremely good for the hair  And if someone helps you with the massage, the process becomes even more pleasant :D

  4. Hey everyone,

I'm now 5 months post-op and everything was going well until I looked at the mirror today. I noticed that 2 weeks ago, my head had much more hair and was much fuller. I realized today that it's very patchy and looks extremely thin.

It seems that I've been losing a lot of hair these past 2 weeks (seems like native hair). Any idea why this is happening? Can it be shock loss at this stage or what? I look worse than I did pre-op although only 2 weeks ago, I was looking much better!

Even one side of the donor area (above the ear) is looking extremely thin. I had some shock loss in that area but it mostly recovered. However, now, it looks really bad. Has anyone experienced something similar?

    Would appreciate the help, thanks.

I agree with the previous response, the process of transformations after the procedure will take time, rather often a long time...:( Of course there's a possibility that the procedure was unsucessful but that happens really rare in fact so I don't think that you should worry about this ;)

Also you can cover up your bald spots with a wig or simply keep your hair shaved for some time... The second idea is better from my own experience, I always felt uncomfortable when I tried to use a wig :P

Besides the shaved head style can look cool in many ways, like on these pics http://machohairstyles.com/best-shaved-head/ for example :) I kept such style like this guy during my restoration process and I can't say that it fit me so bad :D

  5. Hello all!

I've been lurking on the forum for quite a while but I think I would finally like some advice as you are all a lot more knowledgeable than I am. I am diffuse thinning with NW 2.5 area hairline. I am currently on dutasteride and my shedding has stopped once and for all! My questions is that do you think it would be a good idea to just restore the hairline back to a NW1 and keep using toppik on the diffuse area behind(which basically masks my hair loss completely. Or should I just get one big transplant once I've thinned out more if the dutasteride starts losing some effectiveness. I have great donor hair but I would love my old hairline back for the time being while I wait and see what the Dut will do. I am considering using Dr. Keller in the Chicagoland area, after my consultation with him I feel very confident but I just wanted some advice since diffuse thinning can me a touchy obstacle to tackle. Thank you again!

I agree with the previous responses, your problem doesn't seem to be so huge that a transplantation is necessary in the near future :o Besides if you only started to take your medicals, maybe it's better to wait for the effect from them, it can be that it'll be enough for the solving your problem ;) And making a transplantation at the current moment can be even harmful for your scalp in general...:(

Also your hair seems ok on these photos, to tell the truth I don't see the vivid sign of the hair loss... But if you feel uncomfortable with some areas, you can just change you haircut a bit, here's http://machohairstyles.com/best-hairstyles-for-balding-men/ for example many nice ideas for such case :o

I like this one for example :)

  6. Hi all! I used to have long hair for the past few years and have recently had it cut, i have then realized that theres a spot which looks like a bald spot which i have nvr noticed before, was hoping i could get some opinion here. Currently 19 so i am pretty concerned about going bald in my early-mid 20s. Heres the imgur album hair - Album on Imgur

I agree with the previous responses, it's not a bald spot :) Seems that it's a natural thing for your hair but it doesn't begin the balding process ;)

However I think that it's better to change your hairstyle, even if it only seems to be a bald spot, personally I did the same several years ago :o My reasons were the same (but in my case sadly it was a starting of the balding process) so at the current moment I prefer the dapper haircuts like here http://machohairstyles.com/best-dapper-haircuts/ for example and now I look like this guy :)

  7. For shorter hair styles, I highly recommend getting a fade (like at 1 or .5) and trim the top. The reason being is because if you're not completely full yet on the top then you wouldn't want your sides to be longer than your top!

Here's a link for reference: BAM!

Can't not to agree with! The fade haircuts are one of the best for such cases :) Also the low top fade ones, like here http://machohairstyles.com/best-low-top-fade/ they look very nice and stylish too, and are perfect for covering the still not full heads :o

I liked these ones the most of all for example :o

    Low-Top-Fade-36-650x650.jpg

Also some of them are nice for covering the thinning hairline too :o

  8. No matter what ever diet you follow even you will successfully loss desire weight but afterward will be same as before. You know why because most of us failed to keep what we planned to eat. Permanent weight maintenance is only possible if we change diet in small steps and follow it for few month and when we used to eat it and like then make more changes and it's goes on. Drastic changes are tends to fail most of the time.

Can't not to agree with you, even if this topic is old because I had this experience! :o And it's the truth that strict fast diets aren't effective, they only can be harmful for your body...:(

The best decision is creating the healthy eating habbits in general and regular workouts :) In my case yoga and pilates were good, also practising with such machines http://stylemann.com/best-nordictrack-elliptical-review/ at home instead of the gym :)

I have the one in my house and it was a good alternative instead of running or walking outsides during the cold seasons :o

  9. Hey guys just wanted to share my experience with Lipogaine big 3 shampoo. I've been using it every 3 days for about 6 months. It seems like it is working for me as well as nizoral, and is less harsh. In the few times I forgot to use the lipogaine, I noticed that slight "hair loss itch" in my crown area comes back. When I use it, my scalp feels refreshed and no itch. It has a nice mint scent.

I would definitely recommend to anybody if nizoral feels too harsh

Thanks for the sharing! I'll try it too :o

  10. I think its a good idea to try the shaved look, but be careful this look is not for everyone. Not every has the right shaped head for that look. ;)

I agree with you! :) This "hairstyle" is really cool but on the other hand it doesn't fit totally everybody, well, like in case with all other hairstyles :D But if you have an awful hairloss, the shaved look can be the only decision :P

    12-Full-Face-Ducktail-e1484229016109-650x650.jpg

I also like that bald head + beard style, it looks very manly and gorgeous in case of many men, here's many good examples of it http://stylemann.com/best-bald-with-beard-ideas/ :) I think that I'll try it one day too :o

  11. I Take biotin everyday........Ofcourse i agree with the fact that we naturally recede our hairline as we continue to age, but i am regularly taking FIN and minoxidil to stop further damage. Still i dont see any change(in the receding hairline) or regrowth

How old are you? I think that your methods of stopping hair loss are good but I suppose that they don't work because of genes and aging, it's sadly but because of that the hair line is receeding and almost nothing can be done with that :( Maybe you should try to consult with your or another doctor again?

Also it can be a limit in your hair loss, you can just continue your procedures and maybe change your current hairstyle in order to cover the problem and feel more comfortable  I saw many nice ideas for such hair cuts in this nice article for example :o

Personally I'm struggling with the same problem (but it's worse than yours) and I keep the style like on this pic, in such way it really feels better :o

  12. receeding hairline sort of creeps up on you without realising, i noticed mine when i went for my usual grade one back and sides cut short on top and i was shocked when looking at pictures as to how far it went back

i then began growing my hair alot longer than what i used to and pulled the styles off but now i long for a buzz cut without the stupid M hairline

i have emailed farjo clinic expressing my concerns with pictures

I understand your feeling very well because I have the same problem now! I have a receeding hairline too and it really scares me, I don't want to become bald during several next yeahs! :(

I'm struggling with my problem (btw this forum really helped me with some useful ideas for such case), also I changed my hairstyle in order to cover up the problem... Fortunately, I found some great ideas for covering up my problem, this is really helpful because in this way you think less about it and can concentrate more on your healing procedures :)

I look now like this guy :D
