  1. Hey Matt, I have attached a photo for you to have a quick look at in terms of progression. The top left/bottom right is my current situation The bottom left was March 2016 and the top right was February 2017. It doesn't look like its progressed much at all within that period, would you think it would be okay to potentially pull the trigger with a HT? I am not looking for that perfect quiff like most, I am genuinely just looking for it to lay forward, but with hair in the temporal regions that I brush to the side. Look forward to your response. Cheers, Jay
  2. Hey Matt, I first noticed my hair loss around 4 years ago, so it looks like it has been slow up until this point. I just try to keep track on things as much as possible, so it is great you guys can provide me with some very informative advice. I would just like to re frame my temporal points and in all honesty I don't really wear my hear in a particular fashion, I would like like to have it available to swoop it directly across. I would be very conservative in terms of design, I actually think I suit a mature hairline more than a juvenile one. Do you think at this point being 28 and not on any meds it would be risky for me to go ahead with a minor surgery? I looked at posts from a year ago and my hair loss doesn't look like it has changed much at all Cheers, Jay
  3. Hey Guys, I posted on here about a year back with respect to potentially getting a HT. I am currently 28, turning 29 this May and was really thinking about pulling the trigger soon. Just asking what you guys think on graft counts, I know some of you are real experts at this type of stuff. I have drawn on some form of hairline in paint and in all honesty I don't want a straight Norwood 1 type hairline, it would not suit my facial structure. I would heir on the side of caution but I just want my face to be framed again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Jay
  4. Thanks Matt, I appreciate your guidance. The loss is definitely more pronounced on the left, the right is so brittle and weak - I have a cows lick situated there, the hair was never running in the same direction as the rest. I would just love to fill those areas in, in a rounded fashion - that way the wind wouldn't be my worst nightmare ?. Thanks again, Jay
  5. Hey Guys, Thanks for all the informative advice. I've noticed a real change in hair quality and texture, a lot of hairs around my temporal regions are turning into peach fuzz - when this happens my hair just becomes brittle and frail, then slowly but surely it falls out. I've seen my hairline retreat backwards over them last four years. My side temporal regions have really regressed too, again I've never had a solid NW1 hairline or strong temporal points. I will continue to monitor the situation, it seems like we may be entering into a 'golden age' in terms if treatments, but who knows? Hypothetically speaking, given my hair texture (fine) and hairstyle I'd want to employ (straight swoop across it even a caesar cut) how many grafts do you think I would currently require to fill those zones? I'm not looking for a NW1 hairline, something a bit more rounded and less disjointed. I suppose it's good to keep track of these things as a reference point. Cheers Guys, Jay
  6. Hey Matt, I have another post in the same section with the same title in which the photos are included ☺. Look forward to your respond. Cheers Jay
  7. Hey Guys, I've been monitoring my situation over then last year and my hair loss has progressed, especially within the temporal regions. I am thinking of getting a minor BY albeit a very conservative one. I've never had a NW1 hairline even since I was young and tbh is rather keep it 'rounded' I just want to take the visual appearance of it being somewhat disjointed away. Could someone please advise me what you think in terms of grafts numbers for my current state? I know it's determined by things such as hair characteristic (of which nine is fine) etc. I don't wear my hair up or with a quiff, I tend to just let it hang or swoop it to the side - if hairstyle has an effect upon the outcome? I have attached some pics, thanks in advance guys. Cheers, Jay

  9. Thanks for the reply Bill, it's greatly appreciated! The reason I ask is because I see a lot of the modern day haircuts and they somewhat require putting the hair in an upright position essentially exposing the frontal hairline. Because of my recession I tend to just let my hair fall down naturally, it covers things pretty well. I was thinking if I do get a HT I'd still style it in a similar fashion and hopefully the extra density when laying flat would create an even better illusion. Thanks man
  10. Hey Guys, Just a quick question with respect to hairstyles and hair transplants. I don't tend to style my hair upwards or with a quiff I just tend to let it lay flat, it tends not too show my recession as much. My question is, is it better to let your hair just lay naturally post HT as opposed to styling it in a quiff? I've seen some people styling it and that's when the results somewhat show the unnatural appearance, I was just wondering if this was the case of the hair did lay flat and not expose the hairline as much? Hope this makes sense? Cheers, Jay
  11. Hey Guys, I have attached some further photo's which may show the extent of the loss. It's strange to look back at 27 years of age and realize I've never had a solid hairline. I turn 28 in 2 weeks so I'm just looking at how things are progressing... Even my sister has the same type of temporal recession but obviously not to the extent of mine. I've never had a straight hairline in my life and honestly would want to be very conservative in terms of a restoration plan. I like the 'slightly receedded look' my head shape would not look good with a straight hairline. As you can see from the photos in which my hair is pulled back I actually have a cows lick, the direction of my hair falls completely different to the rest of my hairline. As I mentioned I do have very fine hair, especially on the top of my scalp - the back of my head albeit still thin seems to be a little more coarse and dense, I always notice a discrepancy when I have washed my hair. I've always been very fine in the temporal regions, so I'm not expecting crazy density if I were to go ahead - I'd just want to restore some hair. I generally wear it like a Cesar cut, I don't do all the elaborate pomades etc - so as mentioned I'd just be looking to fill the areas a bit more than the presently are. I have attempted to draw on them with an iPhone app but the acuity is poor... Any estimations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Jay
  12. Thanks man, I really appreciate your help. My loss seems to have been relatively slow over the past 3/4 years - I was made aware of it and saw the initial recession, from that day forward I've focusing on not much else in terms of my appearance, I not adverse to trying finasteride, maybe I'm just over optimistic about future treatments that looks to be on the horizon - maybe it is something I should look into. Thanks man, you're a great help. Ias I say I'm not looking for Norwood 1 territory, I'm just looking to close the gap on my temples. My temples on the side have went back slightly and based upon my precious hairline you can see it. I'd be looking to close in front the end point of my recession on my hairline, what do you think that would require in terms of graft numbers? I understand doctors set their own rates but based on an estimate what would you imagine it would cost in terms of cases you've seen previously? My hair is extremely fine man, I guess it would work reasonably well in my case as I've always been thinning sh around the hairline, a transplant would probably make me look better than before . Cheers guys
  13. Thanks man, I really appreciate the advice! I'm currently 27 turning 28 this May so unfortunately I'm coming to the latter end of my 20s ha! I guess most wouldn't suspect I'm losing some but I'm sure we can all attest we become obsessive once we first notice that initial reccession. I'm not on Fin, I've read too manh negative reviews on it. I'm suffering slightly with my health so I don't think I'm willing to risk things spiralling out of control. I'm looking for a rough estimate in terms of grafts based upon what the situation currently stand at, this way as it proceeds I can keep tracks and then capatilise at the right time. I'm not looking for a straight hairline, I've never had one. I'd be a bit more conservative than most based upon what my situation was like prior to receding. I have a line in my head essentially in which the hair grows in a sideways direction, I've neverhad the perfect hairline - I suppose it's a cows lick. I have very fine hair and it lays flag which somewhat enables me to cover things up to some extent. The advice is greatly appreciated guys, thank you!
  14. Hey Everyone, Any opinion on the number of grafts required to fill these areas? I'm not looking for a Norwood one, I'd still want some slight recession, maybe taking me to a Norwood 1.5. Cheers guys
