  1. Hello,

I live in a house with no AC and I'm concerned about my meds and their efficiency during hot weather and after a heat wave.

I just bought new minoxidil and refilled my fin prescription last weekend and I just learned another heatwave is starting on Saturday here in Los Angeles.

How likely is it that meds for treating hairloss lose their efficiency because of the hot weather?

    Thanks for the input.

Most ethical doctors might not even offer their services.

But I would like you to consult the doctors, it would be interesting to hear their response and post it here.

I did consult a doctor who is recommended on this website and he suggested that the miniaturized in the front of my hairline would eventually disappear...which it seems like it's happening now. He also quoted me a procedure of about 1000 grafts would be needed for me to fill in the corners. The consult was in 2017 though and i have gone back to him yearly for my Finasteride prescription.

Your hair is perfect, I would never waste thousands of dollars on a hairline that already looks perfect. You’re a legit Norwood 1 if that.

Hi Melvin, thank you for your comment. You don't think the hairline is thinning and going inward? I think that I am a NW2 with some miniaturized hairs on the front end of the hairline that I shave off because they look very thin. I doesn't look bad by any means but I was curious as I am getting a little concerned with the way it is looking.

  4. Hello,

It's been three years of trying finasteride and I think it's time for a hair transplant. My GF talked me out of it three years ago and said to wait until I am 30.  I noticed that on some of the pics I uploaded in 2017,  my left side has gone up a little more. I was quoted 1,000 grafts by a doctor on this site. Based on the images I provided, would that goal still be probable or will the number of grafts have to be increased just to fill in the corners of my hairline?

The first image is my left side in 2017, and the second image is the comparison of the same side as it looks today. The third image is also from today and it is how my hair looks from the front and the last image from today and it is the right side through the selfie mode in my phone.

    Thanks for your feedback.

  5. Thank you for your replies. I now have a concern that Mp96 brought up concerning ethical clinics. I visited 2 clinics. One of the visits was with a doctor that is recommended in this site. Should I be concerned that he did not turn me away? I want to believe the reason why was based on his analysis of my scalp when conducting his miniaturization evaluation.

  6. Hello, I have been noticing that my hairline has been receding since I was 20 or 21. I am now 27 with a desire to fill in the corners of my hairline. After a visit to two hair restoration doctors, (one of them being a recommended doctor on this site) both came up with a range of about 800-1000 grafts to achieve what I want.

My question is..is it too early to get a procedure done? Should I try meds for a while? I have attached some photos and I would appreciate some feedback. Thank You.

  7. No prob,

If this is a FUE procedure.

Tons of questions you can ask, but to start off:

    -who will do the extractions?

-what punch size will you use?

    -is this an ARTAS procedure?

-will you extract spread out in donor or extract in one confined pattern?

-at this stage, do you think my hairloss will progress or what stage norwood am i?

-have you had any failed results?

-if there is an issue with growth, how will you handle it? Perform surgery again? Refund? Etc? Do you give any type of "GROWTH" gaurantees that some other known surgeons do?

Seriously, this surgery overall needs to be done correctly the first time. You do not want to face any type of repairs. It is the most painful thing you can go through. Just giving you a heads up.

Oh and I do not work for any clinic by the way nor given any incentives (discount and etc) to cheerlead aka promote any clinic. Just someone who has been through a lot. So, my advice is to really think this through and wait. Waiting probably until your weaker native hairs shed at least. Tread carefully, see at least 10 folks that had FUE?

It would FUE. I did ask the doctor about the progress of my hairloss. He performed a miniaturization exam on my scalp and hairline. He confirmed what you have been telling me about the fine hairs in my hairline eventually falling off. He seemed optimistic about the rest of my hair based on his miniaturization analysis.

I've actually seen one of his former patients in person and he seems to post here sometimes. His results looked great, granted his case was different than mine.

    Thank you for the advice.

  8. 1000 grafts planted at what density cm2 ? 50? 55? Or something else?

You have a lot of native hairs up front. Be extremely careful if you proceed with hairline work now, its good to wait a couple more years until the finer native hairs fall. You do not want density issues or shockless that may or may not be permanent. Surgery should be the last resort. Take a look at results similar to your type of loss on the net. See if you can meet any patiens in person. Good luck.

The doctor said he was comfortable in doing a procedure on me at this time because he was comfortable with the miniaturization exam he performed on me the day I went to his office to speak with him. But now that I read your comment I am more concerned.

What other questions should I ask Dr. Mohebi in your opinion? Should I mention that it may be too early to have a procedure? Thank you.

  9. Nor familiar with his work...is he based in Korea?...or possibly the US? How did you hear of him out of curiosity?

    Are you getting multiple opinions?

That's usually a good idea and have a base of comparison.

He is based in Los Angeles. I heard about him because he apperantly worked with Dr. Rassman and Dr. Rassman is apperantly respected in the field.

I am in the process of scheduling more consultations with other doctors such as Dr. Mohebi here in LA.

  10. Hello,

I have gone to a consultation with Dr. Jae Pak and wanted to know his reputation on this site before committing to anything. Has anyone ever had a procedure done by him? Were you satisfied? Thanks.

I am a 27 years old with recession. He told me that he would recommend 800 grafts to fill in the corners of my hairline.
