  1. That is how it looks. You can see a few small grafts that have not shed. Are they too deep and that’s why they did not shed? Will the new hair be able to grow past them if they don’t shed them?
  2. Hi all, I had a FUE transplant 5 weeks ago in the frontal hairline which had some hair already. The procedure was just to make it more dense. in regards to shedding I think I’ve shed about 40-50% of the grafts now. What happens if the rest don’t shed now and grow? Like a hair that is stuck in the scalp? Would this stop the grafts from growing and being able to get through the scalp due to the hair that’s in the scalp not shedding?
  3. Thanks for your reply. I didn't take decent pictures(I probably should of) but my hair is definitely a improvement from a year ago. I still have to wear toppik though to make my hair full. Since using finasteride I have noticed less hair on my pillow and when washing hair. After 2-3 weeks using finasteride I did shed only for a week or two and not anything noticeable. But I guess I've recently noticed(because I was looking for any sign of growth) all those very thin brown or colourless hairs between my normal hair which made me wonder if this is some kind of growth? I hope they get thicker because there are quite a few. I've tried to use minoxidil as well but I can't as I always get a allergic reaction.
  4. Hey all, I'm thinking of getting this but has anyone used it: https://nutjob.com.au/pages/faqs Comparison of toppik : https://nutjob.com.au/pages/caboki-vs-toppik-vs-nut-job Does it sound safe to use? Ingredients: Cellulose 95%, Sodium Sulfate, Aluminium Silicate, contains traces of Ammonium Chloride, may contain mineral based colour
  5. Hi all, I had a FUE procedure about 14 months ago into my hairline. It was only about 500 graphs so didn't notice much result. I have now been taking finasteride and saw palmetto for almost 6 months. When I run my fingers through my hairline under bathroom light I notice a few very thin hairs (length of these hairs vary between 1cm-1.5cm. Some are almost colourless but if I look very carefull at some others because they are so thin look a bit brown like my natural hair colour. Is this a sign of growth or will these hairs just stay like that? Just curious to know if this is the finasteride or FUE working? Or just hairs that were always there and will never get thick? Thanks for your help.
  6. I tried minoxidil with no alcohol. It seemed to be working better with a bit of itchiness and skin not looking the best. but the other day I noticed a vein was sticking out on my forehead. Would this be from the minoxidil and is it dangerous to carry on?
  7. Hi all, I have been using finasteride for almost 4 months now. About a year ago I had about 600 hairs transplanted in the front of my hairline and didn't really notice much result so decided to start finasteride. When I run my finger under the light I can see colourless hair some maybe 1cm long. Would this be from the transplant or is it finasteride causing hair growth? Will these hairs grow longer and get colour?
  8. Hi all, I have now tried the PG free and no retinoic acid minoxidil 7 % and I am still getting red skin, itchyness and small pimples. Does this mean I have become allergic to minoxidil or is it to strong for me? Or has my skin become sensitive because i have had 3 HT in that area?
  9. Hi all, About 10 years ago i used Minoxidil for the first time. During that time I developed a rash and got a very itchy scalp and forehead. I was then put on PG free Minoxidil and this seemed to work fine with no side effects and was able to used it for about 6 years until I had stopped. About 2 months ago I have decided to use Minoxidil again, the same formula that is PG free. This time though I am developing a rash, and itchy scalp and pimples on forehead again. Why would this happen if it didn't happen last time I used it? The doctor is now making me a new formula that is PG free and without Retinoic Acid. Do you think this will help and is it safe as im worried about getting these rashes again? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks for your help.
  10. Thanks for your reply regarding the prostate cancer. I guess finasteride is the only thing besides a hair transplant to help with hairloss so i think I may start it again as it would of been pointless having those hair transplants and then losing further hair. Hopefully one day there is something better i mean its 2017...there has to be by now..
  11. Hi all, I am thinking about starting Finasteride and minoxidil again, but just wanted to hear a few opinions before i do so. I took Finasteride and used topical Minoxidil for about 4 years from 2008-2012. From 2011 ive had 3 Hair transplants in the temple region and stopped using Finasteride and Minoxidil. I think i have lost some of the original hair that was in the temple or even transplanted hair as it is still not up to the standard I want. Would Finasteride and Minoxidil maybe start growth again of the original and transplanted hairs that maybe stopped growing? Also when i was taking Finasteride the side effects were not as serious as they seem to be now from what I have read on the internet. During my time of taking Finasteride I don't recall having any side effects nor do I think I have any now. But I am worried about the new side effects listed such as the prostate cancer, depression and anxiety. If I started taking it again what is the chance of me having side effects this time compared to when I was taking it a few years ago? or does it mean that I wont have the side effects if I start again? Are there any actual stories regarding the prostate cancer that has been linked to Finasteride?(as that is what is putting me off taking it at the moment) as well as the depreession/anxiety) Thanks everyone and appreciate anyone who can give some advise. A
  12. it was about 4 years ago since i used it and i dont recall any side effects but after researching on the net this week i read that it could now cause anxiety and depression which puts me off it as I am a very anxious person in general. If I did not read that I would of had no trouble starting it again.
  13. I used to use proscar and was going to take it again but after doing a search a few days ago on the net it doesn't seem to be as safe anymore. So now I am unsure. It's quite sad that there is no other alternative for hair loss in 2016.
  14. Ok that's good to know. Thanks everyone for the info. Does anyone have some advice about the finasteride?
  15. Yes it is in the same place. Is there any reasons why it may grow slower? I was almost 6 months and have not seen much change?
