Hello guys.
Been wanting to post this for a while but never did. I'm looking for advice.
Back in 2014 my hair loss came in fast, following a break up, stress I imagine. The first two pictures were taken at my consultation. I haven't had my hair cut since, and it was pretty long then, so the small hairs were the dead/dying hairs, and it's safe to assume most if not all of those hairs are gone entirely now.
I rushed into a transplant, admittedly. I went through the ukhairtransplantclinics, I was referred to a Dr May at the Wimpole clinic. The Ukhairclinics themselves did the consultation, I was told two surgeries totaling 4500 grafts would be required in a 2500/2000 split.
Pretty much a week later I had the surgery, hotel night paid for. I met the surgeon, he apparently suggested that he "spread" the grafts whilst the clinic suggested condensing it into the front area and doing the back sections later. Im told I agreed to this, maybe I did, I don't remember.
Graft was painless, I fell asleep during this. The implants weren't done by the surgeon, but by nurses or people who looked like nurses. It took all day, Easily ten hours of implanting grafts. No problems post surgery. One worry was that I received 3060 grafts in that surgery, instead of 2500. So he cut too much off? I've seen others stories where this has happened too, so I'm not sure if I should be alarmed by this.
So it's past the 2 year mark for me, I'm not expecting any further growth. The later pictures show what I have now. Anything long is there to stay, and as expected most of the dying hairs from two years ago have gone. The crown is still receeding but I really don't care about the crown area. Otherwise it seems stable now.
Taking into consideration the number of grafts, and it being spread over the scalp, would you guys say I had a good result? Would the second surgery complete the look for me?
If yes, I'm happy to return to them to get it done soon, if no, I'd probably consider Farjo who seem to get good results. On a more personal level however, my hair has made me quite depressed, and I haven't gone outside without a hood or hat in almost three years. The original clinic accepts a deposit + installments which is great and what I did last time, which means I can get it done sooner and curb my depression quicker. I'm not sure if Farjo does installments. If you guys feel I'm better going elsewhere, I'll have to try suck it up and wait longer for the Farjo procedure instead.
Thanks all
