Im curious how or why Mwamba offered you 800 grafts on the house?

He really doesnt seem to be offer any free touch ups or refunds. You are the only of his ive heard of him doing any sort of free work.

I was very surprised he offered the 800 grafts too tbh.  I just followed up with pics with his assistant Ben, and expressed how I wasn't satisfied with my hairline.    My response from Ben....  "Dr Mwamba has instructed me to coordinate a free touch up for you on your hairline and I would like to explain a few things."

Long story short,   I'm grateful...  And although I did get a free touch up of 800 grafts...  I did opt for more grafts....   So,   with the added grafts, flight to Brussels, and that tax... I spent close to 10k.

  2. I think you have had very good results.    👍👍

Good luck with that 2md procedure.   I saw him for a 2nd HT first week of March.   He's very good, especially for repair jobs using BHT.

I also wanted to say how great the smp looks on you.  It give your scalp a darker look.   Everytime I get siked up to do smp for density/fue scars,  I see bad results and bad reviews .....  and then I see a result like yours and I get siked up again.

  3. Interesting...

I had a repair job with Dr Mwamba in Feb of 2022,  and the final result,  my hairline just didn't have the density, like yours.  Dr Mwamba acknowledged this, stood by his work, and offered 800 grafts to add more density on the hairline.  I thought that showed integrity on his part.

The only thing was that the first surgery was 45 minutes from where I live in NJ,   whereas for the 2nd surgery I had to fly out to Brussels.

I had my 2nd HT with Dr Mwamba early March this year,  and since I was already going there,  I opted for more density on the mid section too.   I ended up getting like 2300 grafts..  With 800 being on the house.

Hopefully or you’ll stuck in a gulag like me when I couldn’t show customs where I was staying 😂

"secondly and most importantly have the address where your staying at present at customs,"

Wow...   Thx man... I haven't even looked into where I'm staying yet.

But now I know... I better book it and have that info for customs.

Wsp @Etownone I went for mine in 2022 I definitely recommend at the Dublin airport to get euros this will help when having to get a cab or buying something at a store, secondly and most importantly have the address where your staying at present at customs, lastly get a SIM card that allows your phone to work in Belgium there’s kiosks at the airport, Belgium is a very calm place skinny streets old buildings definitely different then the US very walkable bring a cap to wear once your transplant is complete

    Thanks man!!

Get Eros at the Dublin airport.   👍

I added the international play with AT&T....  their customer service told me AT&T works in belgium.  Hope it's true.

I have had surgeries with Mwamba in both Atlanta and Brussels. The Atlanta surgery was uncomfortable because he is just renting a random doctor's office and the surgery chair was not ergonomical and there was no TV. Neither his rented clinic in Atlanta or New Jersey were designed for hair transplants, whereas Brussels is

Brussels location is very comfortable, nice chair, and big tv

Why the change of plans on Mwamba's part? Are you going to have to pay the 25% Brussels VAT Tax? Are you going to have to pay for the flight to Brussels or is he comping that?

I myself am flying to Brussels this year for another surgery with Mwamba. (im also an American) I honestly will be a bit peeved if you and any other Atlanta people get comped flights and don't have to pay a VAT tax. I am only going to Brussels bc when I booked there were no Atlanta slots. But I am more or less having the same journey as you, so where is my free travel and no VAT Tax?

I have noticed Mwamba's pricing is fairly subjective and patient-to-patient based (for the exact same type of work) which I am not a fan of.

But yes...I am interested in knowing if Mwamba is comping you on those expenses

Additionally, keep in mind that for Mwamba's US surgeries, he only operates on 1 patient a day due to lack of techs with him and other logisticial issues. Whereas in Brussels he is much more likely to have 2 patients a day because the Brussels clinic is designed for that.

imagine America but the buildings are much much older, significantly more foot traffic as opposed to vehicles, less obese people, and everyone speaks French.

I don't understand what being an American has to do with anything unless you show up in Brussels wearing a cowboy hat and bring a firearm with you or something 🤣

If Belgium feels "very foreign" to you, I can only imagine how you would handle Asia, Africa, South America, etc.

Thx... I didn't know anything about a VAT rax.   That is news to me.

Dr Mwamba will comp the difference from the flight to Atlanta to Brussels.

I was extremely lucky to see Dr Mwamba in NJ a couple years ago,   and it was only a 40 minute drive for me.    So I know what you mean,  in NJ, he rents a small room at a Dr office.   It wasn't a bad experience for me.

I'm fluent in Spanish and have been to the South America and a few carribean islands,  and felt comfortable there...  But going to Europe is a whole new adventure for me.

I just found out English is spoken fairly throughout there,  so that's great to know.

Brussels is just a nice (if slightly boring) European city. It won’t be radically different to any smaller, older city anywhere else really. English will be spoken fairly typically and definitely at restaurants, hotels and so on.

If you have a few days pre op, hop on a short train to Brugge for a day trip or a short stay over - beautiful little city easily explored on foot over the course of a day or two.

You’ll have no issues whatsoever in Belgium.

Thx!!  Great to know English is spoken....  I was worried I'd be with some Google translate in hand.

If I was single,  I'd make this a week trip to enjoy the sights before the surgery.    But I'm going to be in and out.   It's an overnight flight and I'm going from the airport to his clinic.

  8. So seems my upcoming surgery with Dr Mwamba March 1st have changed. I was supposed to travel to Atlanta,  but his plans have changed and now I have to go to Brussels.

I'm from the USA...   And going somewhere like Brussels will be a very foreign to me.  I'm actually a little nervous.  Anyone else from USA go see Dr Mwamba in Brussels and can give me any tips?

Yeah. Definitely don’t stop the TRT. No point in having hair if other ‘parts’ of your body don’t work haha.

I went down on my dose after my surgery and my levels are around 550-600. Pre HT they were at 900.

And I also went to Nader. The 16th will make 4 months. That’s when I plan to start growing it out. I’ve been shaving it with a guard since month 2.

What is your trt dosage if you don't mind me asking?

  10. Looking good bud.

I went to Dr Nader a couple times.   He's great.

Imo,   the growing really starts around month 5.  But everone is different.

Good luck with the trt.  You're being smart about it...  Low dose.  👍   What dose are you on?   I'm still trying to find the sweet spot.    Rt now I'm at 120 a week.   Injecting 40 m/w/f/....   I might have to go lower.

  11. Very VERY impressive

Some might think unbelievable with just meds and mesotherapy.   Would you mind breaking down what you are doing these days for mesotherapy.

Also, I'm curious...   How's the front looking?

I'm three months post HT and good results so far. I stopped TRT after my ht but have experienced some of the effects of not being on TRT....some depression, low libido, lack of energy. I decided to start TRT again but to monitor very closely and be very conservative with the amount of TRT. My Dr asked if my hair loss accelerated with TRT before my ht and I don't believe it did. BUT....my hair loss was fairly substantial before I started TRT.

I was at 120mg TRT before my ht. I'm doing 60mg 2x per week now to avoid high peaks. I will pull all the tests for TRT after a month and make sure I'm within normal ranges i.e. less than 950. If I can't keep it in the normal range, I'll have to stop and find some alternative therapy to help with natural testosterone production. I'm also going to be very mindful of hair loss and watch closely.

See the chart I received from Dr Nadar on Anabolic index rating factors. I've stopped energy drinks, creatine and Whey protein.

Bottom line, TRT will most likely impact hair loss.

    Good luck...

You did a lot more research then I did.

I hope you have better results then I have.

I'm curious on your updates in the future.

Thanks @Etownone.  Can you share when was your transplant and how long you have been on TRT. I am curious the impact on overall health and hairhealth as well

I have a long journey with hair transplants...  I've had 6.   First one in 2008.     And I've been on trt the whole time.

If I could do it all over again... I would have never had a hair transplant.   The older we get, the more beneficial trt can be some certain men.

I guess it all depends on each individual....  You have men like Jay Cutler that still have a full head of hair,   while there are other guys that go on a low dose of trt and it destroys their hair.
