  1. I had a 2,000 graph Fue Procedure last June costing $16,000. Long story short the results were extremely poor. I didn't realize how poor until i consulted with two top california transplant doctors. I wanted an expert medical opinion on the previous operation and advice on my options moving forward. Both Doctors said the previous doctor's work was horrible. Not only in graph success rate, but hairline design. They said they'd remove a good amount of the successful graphs because of the poor placement. I told the original doctor this and he offered 300 free graphs, i declined the offer. He then offered me that value in a refund which is $2,400. i declined that offer also saying i want my money back or i'm going to court. He is now refusing to give me my medical records and before and after pictures and says he's filing a lawsuit against me for harassment. There's been absolutely no harassment, only me trying to get my medical records which are required by the attorneys i've contacted. I have 1 year following the operation to get the lawsuit going so he's obviously trying to intimidate me and stall me. I filed with the california medical board so once the paper work goes through he'll be required to hand it over. I'm looking for advice and recommendations to attorneys that can help me through this process. Thanks

  2. I consulted with a recommended fut doctor. He was strongly against fue operations. One claim he made that I never heard of before was that with an fue even the best surgeon isn't going to fully get the follicle extracted. And since part of the follicle is damaged the hairs coming out will always be minituized in comparison to an fut operation. Is there any truth to This? If so that would be a huge strike against fue.

  3. I need hear from actual clients who have had permanent and non permanent SMP done on there scalps. Are you happy with the results? Does the SMP last as long as the practicener said it would? Does it look fake? Does anyone ever ask you why your hair always looks the same? Does it fade unevenly?

I have had permanent smp down into my 2 strip scars by a top NYC practicener and it looks pretty good. I just have some big worries about ever getting the scalp SMP. I already have been burned twice in the HT industry by a below average doc so I'm very cautious. 2 coalition docs have told me I don't have enough donor hair. One of them even recommend for me to get SMP done.

When you look at all these SMP companies website and instagram pictures it looks like tons of guys are getting SMP done. You don't see any long term pictures from 6 months, a year, 2 years. I would like to see someone in real life an actual client who had it done.

I would like to hear from actual clients. The SMP forum is starting to look like the SMP advertising section.

I'd like to hear people's experience as well as I'm strongly considering smp. My only experience is seeing a artists head in person who was completely bald. He had his last touch up two years ago and I was very impressed. Looked as real as youd wish for.

  4. Do you mind posting pictures? I remember reading your threads of dissatisfaction as early as 5 months, you received 2,000 grafts, it's important to know where these grafts were placed were the solely on the hairline or spread out? What level of hairloss you have is very important, it could be your expectations may not be in line with the work and hair loss. I would hate for you to get another procedure without first knowing what your expectations are and understanding the limitations of surgery.

Let's say you're like me diffused Norwood 6, if you spread 2,000 grafts on top of my scalp it will make very little difference, you need to concentrate on one area at a time, 2,000 for the hairline 2,000 for the midscalp, then possibly 2,000 for the crown if your donor allows it, always important to remember is that visual density does not equal actual density, you may require certain hair length to maximize the results, this is all of course assuming you have substantial hair loss.

To be honest I try to stay away from pictures. Too stressful for me and on top of that I can look at my hair from different lighting and go from looking great to looking like I need 4k graphs. The doctor did take extensive pictures with exact same lighting, camera, hair lengthas, angles etc and results weren't good enough for him to even arugue with me. He seemed rather embarrassed. Also I hadnt had a single person comment or notice any improvements including people that knew I had work done and others that didn't.

  5. This is a tricky one. The truth of the matter is, you might have had an equally disappointing result had you gone to a different doctor. Failure is unpredictable and not necessarily the result of poor work. HT docs perform hundreds of procedures annually and thousands by the time you've chosen them. There will always be some bad results.

If you go ahead with the small procedure that has been offered to you, the improvement might be worthwhile and you might end up pleased with the result. You could go to a different doctor and end up disappointed. And vice versa.

I wish the solution was easier and I could recommend a course of action that you would be confident in, but that isn't possible.

Personally, I would accept your doctor's offer. If they are a highly respected clinic then your chances of success are as good as with anyone else.

I hear what you're saying and if this guy was world renound I'd chalk it up as flukely variance that happens with transplants. Problem is this guy is just a medical spa place that offers a million different perceedures and just purchased the artas machine and has his techs do all the work. I'd rather take my chances with a proven specialist.

  6. I've posted a few times expressing my frustration with my fue perceedure. Now at the 9 month mark it's an obvious failure. I had 2k graphs done to move hairline u

Down a bit and add density to mid scalp. I had my 9 month follow up and the doctor kinda made excuses but in a way coneeded and offered me a free 300 graphs to strengthen hairline. I told him I'd think about it over night. The problem is I had such poor results I don't want to risk losing more graphs plus I don't want to waste my time and energy for such a little amount of graphs. I want to cut my loses and find someone else. Since he basically admitted the results are poor should I try to get at least a partial refund? Even if I can't I really don't want any work from him. Also I read a review from someone else that had the exact same issues with this doctor so I have no desire to get more work done from him. What would you guys do?

  7. I also sympathize with you and your situation. If I was you I'd do one of 3 things... find a legit smp(scalp micro pigmentation) artist to give the illusion of a shaved full head of hair. This will also camouflage the previous transplantwo scar. The second option would be use transplants just to get hairline really good and use a hair system for the back. 3rd option would be a very expensive option and just keep doing transplants. Once head donor is full tapped go to neck beard then body hair. Extremely expensive option butif of you have the money it might be worth it. Texture and look won't be ideal but better than a bald spot. Best of luck man.

  8. Got it. Still my advice stands as those docs could give you an online estimate and you have no obligation to go with them in the end.

Could give you a better idea.

Also if you post some pics I and others can help give a rough estimate.

Ok thanks for the recommendations and i'll contact those Docs.

  9. Do you want to get restored, or you just want 100 dudes on the internet to make an irrelevant hypothetical estimation that will not change your situation?

Most people are on here for the former case, and the latter will just waste your's and our time.

I've already had a transplant with medicore results. I'm set on the next doctor but trying to come up with game plan money wise.

  10. I have a hypothetical question... Lets say you take your average person with non receded hairline but overall density of hair everywhere on top is 60% ideal density in whole typical MPB's area. How many graphs would be needed to take it to 100%? Obviously it depends from person to person, but given the hypothetical nature just picture the average head shape and average complete MPB pattern. No need for hairline design but just added density. I have a number in mind but question your guy's guess.

  11. I concur. Where do you live bro?

The problem with smp becoming so popular over the last year or two is that now the number of bad providers out number the good and great ones significantly. I spent 3 months of my free time researching and there is a lot to get through. Check out scalp guru (but read with an open mind as there has been some controversy about it) then go see as many providers as possible. Dont be afraid to bombard them with questions. An experienced tech has heard every question before. Avoid makeup artists offering the procedure. I wanted a specialist on my scalp as I am sure you do. What use is 2 years experience if they only do 5 treatments a month??

I live near Sacramento Ca. But i'd be willing to go anywhere in the US if the artist was good enough. How'd your procedure go?

  12. How do you go about finding an legitimate high level smp artist? Unlike transplants where you're dealing with real doctors in medical conditions smp artists are as credible as typical tattoo artists. I've seen Too much variance online( from amazing results to horrible) to choose without strong credentials. Any recommendations?

  13. I'm nearly 7 months in and i've noticed for the past month or so i have what appears to be stubble but it doesn't seem to grow out when i let my hair get a bit longer. When i shave my head it looks pretty dense mid scalp. Is this normal before hair actually grows? Unfortunately this isn't the case for new hairline but seems to be dense mid scalp.

  14. Hey Bro! You're talking to Doctor Mohebi's # 1 fan. haha

Did so much due diligence before I ran into him. Feel free to check my before and after pic.

Did you meet face to face yet?

looks like he did a great job with you. how many total graphs were done? I haven't met with him yet. I just found out about him a week ago. I called his receptionist and she was helpful with questions.

  15. I'm a tad confused on why people tend to recommend so strongly against a younger person doing a transplant? there's no way to look into an hourglass and predict future hairloss so why wait through ones prime years waiting to see what might happen later on? if someone could predict with great certainly what the degree of future hairloss will be then decision would be easy. but that's impossible so why wait for a more bald self 10 years later? worst cause one gIves up and shaves head. better sooner than later, no?

  16. I'm researching for my next operation around a year from now. I want the best most proven Fue doctor there is. price is not as important as quality. California would ideal but willing to travel. Dr Parsa Mohebi caught my attention from my search on this site. any information on him or other recommendations would be great.

  17. I agree....take pictures weekly of your results and keep a detailed journal of any changes you observe. I had fairly quick hair growth after my first surgery but much slower growth rates after my second surgery. That dormancy phase is tricky to predict. I've heard of some patients hardly showing any growth until the 7 month mark. Try to hang in there....you may be surprised.

how was the results on the second? equally as good as with first?

  18. Record your progress carefully each month with detailed photos and if the results have not picked up at around 10 months or so, post your images including immediate post-op photos and name the doctor here.

That is the only way we can help you.

Was it a recommended surgeon on here btw?

no it wasn't. I had just joined this site when I made the choice to go with this guy. big mistake. I should've went with one of the guys recommend here.

  19. 6 months is still early to call it a failure, it seems you are being quick to judge as you had another thread saying it was a failure at 5 months, unfortunately you have to be patient, I would say you won't be able to really say for sure its a failure until 9 months.

Yes probably True, but given the amount of improvements i've had after the 4 month mark it's not looking good. I'd love for things to turn around but nothing is happening except a few new hair's here and there.

  20. I'm at the 6 and a half mark and it's looking like it's a failed operation. Far lower than my expectations and claims doctor made. at the 6 month follow up the doctor said he wants me to be happy and said he'll do follow up work if needed on him to make me happy. The Problem is the results are so poor i don't trust him with my donor follicles i have left. I have a follow up at the 9 month mark and the only way i'd except some follow up work is if results improve to at least ok. What do you guys recommend ?

  21. symphony,

Please do share some photos as soon as you have them. While there are some guys that get a lot of growth at 6 months, you are still early in the game and should have plenty more growth and maturation to come.

I highly recommend reserving judgement until one full year has passed. Also, you really should be taking your own photos on a monthly basis if you want to track and compare your results.

    Best of luck!

I'm at 6 and a half months now and hairline is maybe 40 percent good density maybe less. I'm under the impression from this point on results will just be minor finishing touches. most numbers say something like 60 or so percent finished. Any chance of major changes at this point ?
