  1. Your hair looks really good to me, why do you want to mess with it? Let your scalp heal and the new hair roots settle in.
  2. Yes my HT was well priced. However, the price may have increased since I had my HT. Contact the Dr if you want a quote, that is what I did. Search for Dezire Clinic Pune and you will get his contact details. Tell him you read up about him on this case. Good luck. No life style changes, I have just carried on as usual.
  3. The Dr is based in Pune, India. The procedure cost me just under 2000 USD. This included Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment. I had 3500 grafts.
  4. All is fine, good growth and no problems. I have added before photograph (4th) for comparison.
  5. So far all good:) Some people who know I have had a HT commented that my hair looks natural. To date I have virtually zero shedding and I am very happy with the transplant. I had my first haircut today and the barber did not notice anything different about my hair. The first three photos are before the haircut. The final one after the haircut.
  6. 4 month update. To date very happy with the HT, virtually zero hair fall and new hair is growing well. I am visiting family who have not seen me for a year and no one has noticed a dramatic change which to me is a sign of a good transplant. It looks natural! Excellent ?
  7. I am very happy with the HT, partner thinks it looks good. I have not broadcast the fact that I have had a HT, so many people will not know. I live in Malaysia so it will be interesting to see if anyone picks up the difference when I visit home (UK) next month; I doubt it as they only see me once a year for a couple of months.
  8. I only looked into doctors in India as I was going to be in the country in October 2015; plan being have the HT during my visit. However, I backed off the idea after seeing Dr Suneet Soni's (Medispa) brother, consultant in their Delhi practice, because I was told FUT was the only way to go for me. This procedure frightened the hell out of me. I did not want to undergo that sort of surgery on my head unless it was completely necessary. Vanity did not justify it! Whilst in India I scanned the net and I found Dezire clinic. I contacted Dr Prashant via WhatsApp and we had a lot of contact thereafter. Dr Prashant told me that FUE is a minor surgical procedure, no scalpel's or stitches; it is what a lot of HT surgeons are switching to and the results are as good as FUT. My own research into HT suggested this too. Credit where due, if it wasn't for Dr Prashant's persuasion and the confidence he gave me I don’t think I would have gone for the HT. I went back to India in February to have the HT. Thereafter, the results to date is the proof of his and his team's ability.
  9. I just asked can I take photos on my smart phone and there was no objection.I went alone so I took them for my partners benefit.
  10. I am very happy with the HT I had 3 months ago at the Dezire Clinic Pune, adding post HT front, top and donor area photos. Comparing the front pre and post shows a tremendous difference which I am very happy with. The donor area has completely healed. I have no complaints and would recommend Dr Prashant and his team to anyone considering a HT, they have done an excellent job for me.
  11. There is no great evidence of any new hair yet. No problems experienced other some mild itching in the donor area. Donor area completely healed, looks completely normal. The recipient area is still a little numb. All seems well.
  12. I apply dailyKera XL serum on my hair and I also take one Hairbless (Biotin, Niacinamide, Minerals & Amino Acids) tablet.
  13. I have had some tremendous pain in the donor area and had difficulty sleeping, Dr Prashant suggested taking Tramadol. This did the trick. Other than that all seems fine, can hardly see the marks on the donor area, the scabs have not yet started dropping off. I forgot to mention in my initial post that I don’t live in India, I travelled there specifically for the HT. I have received exceptional after care as Dr Prashant has been in constant contact with me on a daily basis.
  14. Washing with shaving foam helps in cleansing the clot effectively without any damage to the grafts. the ph of foam is neutral . no pressure or rubbing needed . this is the reason for recommendation for first 3 days
  15. I have just had the FUE HT (6 Feb 2016) done by Dr Prashant Yadav at the Dezire Clinic in Pune. All in all the team included Dr Prashant as the main doctor who does all the graft extraction, hair line marking, and follow ups, two assistant doctors, one technician who does all the graft implantation and four nurses. My experience has been excellent, an exceptional doctor backed by an excellent team. I could not fault anything. I found Dr Prashant to be very informative and pleasant, he was quite talkative. The same goes for the other staff. I read a lot on the Internet on both FUT and FUE HT and saw various videos on YouTube. Despite all the assurances the former put me off as I did not want such an involved surgical procedure which looked too scary! So I decided on FUE HT. I did a lot of research on this excellent forum and the Internet, I contacted various clinics (Dr Gaurav Solanki (Enhance Clinics), Asheesh Rajput (Rejoice Hair Transplant)), Dr A's clinic, Dr Bhatti (Darling Buds clinic), Dr Suneet Soni (Medispa), Dr Ravi Kumar Joshi (Apollo Hospital Delhi) and Dr Prashant Yadav (Desire Clinic) amongst others. I sent my hair profile photos to the clinics for their analysis, I had replies from all of them except Dr Ravi. They all gave me positive feedback in pursuing FUE HT except for Dr Suneet who was keen on FUT, I believe that is his specialty. The feedback suggested differing number of grafts ranging from 1800 to 4500. Dr Suneet’s was the extreme, 8000 grafts. It appeared from the feedback I was looking at an average of 3000 to 3500 grafts. I had a lot of correspondence with Dr Prashant on WhatsApp and he stayed in contact with me over the past three months giving me the confidence that I needed. He answered all my queries promptly and I found him to be straight to the point, which I appreciated. I also had a Skype call with him, where the Dr answered my many concerns. I felt very confident with him and decided to have the FUE HT at his clinic. He also agreed to do the HT without completely shaving my head, he just shaved the donor and recipient area. He also agreed to do the HT at the weekend as I was on a tight schedule. Hotel Ashwamedha Residency is next to the Dezire clinic; it is basic accommodation but very convenient. It's not too busy as they are primarily a wedding hall with 30 guest rooms, so it's pretty private if that is of concern. The clinic kindly arranged a room for me. The clinic asked me to do a blood test a week before the HT and send them the results. I had agreed to have FUE HT on Feb 6. I was told to be at the clinic at 8AM sharp after having a hefty breakfast. It was requested that I wear a buttoned shirt and not a tee shirt. I was also asked to dye my hair black if I had grey hair, which I did. I did not get the chance to do this so they dyed the donor area before the procedure began. I was also requested to bring a loose fitting cap. This was my experience: Transplant day (I have added some photographs and will post monthly updates) I got to the clinic at 8 AM, I was asked to register by a nurse and was shown to a room where I had to change into their operating garments. I was given ibuprofen and some other medicine which I cannot remember the name of. The doctor came in at about 8:30, he asked if I had any questions. He answered all my queries. I was led to another room, where the donor area was dyed. The Dr then drew the intended hair line and asked me if I was happy with it? Which I was. Then I was taken to a room where I laid face down, which was comfortable, and the donor area was shaved. My head was then shampooed. Local anesthesia was administered. Prior to this I was told I will feel a prick and some pain as the anesthesia was administered. However, there after many more injections were given over the donor area but I did not feel any pain. The Dr then removed 3000 grafts with an automated FUE extraction machine. He was assisted by another doctor and a few nurses. I did not feel any pain whatsoever. The grafts were put in saline solution. If anything I did get a little stiff as you have to lie in the same position for nearly two hours. However, an opportunity to stretch was given when requested. After the graft extraction I was taken to another room where I laid on a bed facing upwards, not uncomfortable at all. The doctor then broke down the previously agreed recipient area into smaller sections so the graft implantation could be done evenly i.e. a predetermined number of follicles per section for an even distribution. Once again local anesthesia was administered. All the graft implantation was done by one extremely competent HT technician, she was assisted by five members of staff (nurses and doctors) some of whom filled the grafts in the implanters. Dr Prashant observed the HT via CCTV in his office and made regular visits into the operating theatre. I had a twenty-minute break for lunch which was provided. I was also offered Platelet Rich Plasma, PRP treatment, where the plasma from my own blood would be used to promote hair growth. Some blood was taken earlier in the day to centrifuge and produce the plasma in a tube. I was given several plasma injections in my head, once again I did not feel any pain. The HT process was completed by about 5.30PM. My head was washed again, this time using shaving foam. The wound at the back of the head was dressed and I was given a medical cap. I was given quite few different types of medicines; mainly anti-inflammatory, pain killers, anti-itching and a sheet detailing the medication schedule and the after care. I left the clinic at about 6.30pm. I was asked to come to the clinic on the following day at about 10.30 AM and not to wet the dressing when I took a shower. I had no pain throughout the evening, just a little discomfort in sleeping due to the dressing which lifted my head upright, more than I am used to. Day after the HT I got to the clinic as requested and Dr Prashant and his assistant, another Dr, took off the dressing and examined both the recipient and donor areas. Once again, my head was washed using shaving foam. I was told they use this as it is gentle and cleanses the donor and recipient areas. Afterwards some Fusidic Acid cream was applied to the donor area. The donor area was not dressed again; a sports head band was put on my head to stop any swelling over which I put on a baseball cap. That was it, the whole process was over. Two days on To date I have not felt any discomfort or pain. There is a little swelling of the forehead above the hair band which was expected. I do get a little itching, although it is not unbearable. My view I would recommend Dr Prashant and his team to anyone considering FUE HT. He and his team work well together and made me feel at ease throughout the HT procedure. If you are going to be staying in a hotel I would recommend that you take a dark (preferably black) pillow case and a dark coloured towel with you as there is some spotting of blood from the donor area.
