I experienced complete loss of the ability to have an erection after 3 weeks of using Minoxidil. I used twice the recommended amount and over a large area of the scalp. Previously my fasting blood sugar was about 100. Minoxidil may raise your blood sugar. Mine went up to 114. The high blood sugar may have caused the ED. I stopped taking Minoxidil and my erections returned to normal. I may have caused my own problem by not using Minoxidil as directed (ie: using a double dose, and over a large area of the scalp.)

I used Generic Minoxidil 5% for Men. I used it on a much larger area than recommended and, I use a larger dose. At first I noticed low quality erection, about 15 days after starting treatment. By day 21 I was unable to get an erection at all, and my libido was very low. I immediately stopped using Generic Minoxidil 5% for Men. My erections gradually returned to normal over two weeks. Losing the ability to get an erection is very disconcerting. Thankfully the effect is only temporary. I also noticed other side effects, my blood pressure went from 120/64 to 99/58. My tinnitus was less also. Having a blood pressure of 99/58 makes you feel less energetic. Had I used Generic Minoxidil 5% for Men in a smaller area as directed, and if I used the proper dosage, the side effects may have been not noticeable. I got greedy and the side effects were intolerable. I used 2/3s of one can. Costco refunded my money in full when I returned the product.
