  1. You want to do it yourself because you don't want dots on the BACK of your head?????

I had a transplant a year ago and have a line in the back of my head and no way in Hati can you see anything. Do not do it yourself. How many bad stories started with "i thought I could do it myself..." . So don't.

  2. I had my hair shaved for my procedure. I had asked Dr. Bloxham specifically about that and he said the shaving was so he could see better and there would be less chance of damage to my existing hair follicles. Makes sense to me and most patients online had their head shaved.

On another note, after doing research and looking at pictures of others who have had a transplant I think you can better judge how many grafts you get and how good the work is when the hair is shaved. When its longer its sort of covered up.

  3. Some dermatological conditions (e.g. fungal) can indirectly cause hair loss when an individual scratches and creates traction on the skin on the scalp.

This is true. I've seen that on people before and told it was a fungal infection. What he is saying here however is that there is an internal inflammation that is present that is causing the hair loss. Maybe yea and maybe neh , but probably too small to be a real effect.

  4. Had my photos taken and Chris the F&B computer geek put it up as my signature icon.

So I sat and spoke with Dr. Bloxham and he recommended that I do a second procedure for the front part of my crown and move back from there. He said no problem taking hair from the sides and that I do not need to do FUE to work in that area.

Now it's time to find a date for the next procedure.

  5. UPDATE: October 13, 2016- 1 year and 1 month after my procedure- My follow up visit

It has been just over a year of growth and I could not be HAPPIER with my results.

I arrived for my follow appointment and both doctors were in their respective operating rooms so I had to wait a bit. After a short wait Dr. Bloxham stuck his head into the waiting room and asked me if I would show off my results to his current patient and I said sure. I went in and remembered the room very well since I myself spent hours in it. I showed off my results and his patient was very excited about it ( I forgot his name).

After a few minutes Dr. Bloxham asked if I wanted to say hi to Dr. Feller and he took me into his room where he was doing an FUE and went back to his room. Dr. Feller said hi and let me watch for a bit and said he remembered me. Several of the techs came in to look at my results as well. I didn't remember all their names but they seemed very happy to look at my results. It is an extremely good feeling.

So now I am waiting for Dr. Bloxham to come out and see if we can do another procedure. I will update after that.

  6. No Runerr i decided not to go propecia due to the side effects. Genetics and inflammation together does make sense but what medications are there for inflammation of the scalp? Did the steroid shots help you? Have you looked into hair transplants already? I never thought I would get one but I did and it really was a great choice. I'm not the bald guy in the room anymore.
