  1. I am currently taking propecia and had a ht of 2000 grafts 14 months ago with mediocre at best results. My problem now is I have areas of my scalp that have small chunks of dead skin. some of them have hairs attached to them when they come off. Not sure if the propecia is part of the issue although i started using it prior to my transplant and didn't get these chunks of dead skin. I have tried nizoral and revita but if anything they seem to make it worse. I have had dandruff for a long time especially in the winter and had seborrhea which the Propecia has seemed to alleviate. Any feedback would be appreciated.

  3. Hopefully I am a late bloomer but in a couple of the areas I had no growth even in the first few weeks before fall out so I'm not too optimistic.
  4. Thanks for your replies. I don't have any pics unfortunately, I'm not the most technical person. I am a little reluctant to name the Dr. mainly because two days after the surgery I got very hot and sweaty at my son's baseball practice which I had been told not to do. So bottom line is I'm not sure where the fault lies. Basically the 2000 grafts were on the front half of my head. Most of the singles along the hairline seem to have come in ok. Also the left frontal portion is ok except for a nickel sized area right behind the hairline that has nothing. The frontal right area is very sparse and there is about a 2inch by 1 inch area in the middle about 2inches behind the hairline with very little growth.
  5. I had 1,950 grafts in june 08. I have had very sparse growth with some areas better than others. It is very frustrating as I was excited to have a decent head of hair again and now I'm not much better off than I was before. I had a hard time convincing my wife about spending the money for the procedure as she was very skeptical about whether it would work. I wish I had found this forum previous to the procedure as I would have gone to a coalition Dr.

  7. Thanks, I am currently using Nizoral 1% every few days. Is it something that can be used daily or does it lose it's effectiveness?
  8. Hi, New to the forum. I get dandruff that feels like grains of sand. Sometimes they are attached to the root of a hair. Anybody else have anything like that?
