  1. When is your op Raman? You too have made a great choice and I will be following your progress
  2. Hi there, Ive done a lot of research on different surgeons, Dr koray erdogan is great with hairlines and has a lot of pictures and videos to back that up, he is a recommended surgeon on this forum and after 2 years of looking I've finally decided to go ahead and book with him, my operation is in 4 weeks. If it helps you can follow my progress on here as I'll be updating at all the important stages to give back to this forum as it's helped me a lot. Goodluck in your search for a surgeon, as Dr Lindsey said do your research as paying less could result in really bad work, 2.5 euro a graft with Dr koray is affordable for me but also he has produced some great results. But I do hope you find a good surgeon and get good results of you go through with a transplant
  3. As I said everybody is different, there isn't really an answer as to when side effects will show or the chances you will get side effects, I have taken finasteride for a year now and haven't seen any side effects and it has slowed my hair loss down and also helped me grow quite a few hairs back The only way you can answer any of the questions you have asked is by trying finasteride and seeing for yourself. Again if you see side effects and you are worried just discontinue use. Hope this helps
  4. Everyone's different, some people see side affects and some people see none at all, My suggestion would be try taking finisteride and if you see any side effects you are worried about, discontinue taking it, atleast you tried. Goodluck with the hair.
  5. Yeah I used to try cut my pills into fifths but after about a month Or two I just gave up and started cutting into quarters I know I'm losing a day on every pill I chop but it was worth doing and losing the hassle of trying to cut fifths. I'll be sure to give them a read DISpHAIR IVE ordered the 14 month proscar after reading the forum about generics maybe not for you as my shedding slowed down when first using but now I'm at the back end of my 14 month supply it's not as effective as when first using it. But it's still a lot better than not taking it. so maybe Ive lost the effects and need to try proscar. If it turns out it isn't for me as everyone's different I'll just stop using it and try something else until I find what's right for me. Thanks for the advice needmoarhair.. I'll keep that in mind for future, have the odd day where I forget to take them so maybe doing it that way will work better for me Hair transplant in a month can't come quick enough
  6. Just read a thread basically saying people were saying generic finisteride wasn't working for them but when they switched to proscar or the real deal propecia they started to see positive results. So if generics work for you then you might aswell keep using them if you ever find they stop working then switch to propecia or the cheaper alternative proscar
  7. Hi everyone, I can either get 14 month supply of generic finisteride 5mg or 14 month supply of proscar 5mg 14 month obviously with them been cut into 5 pieces each so 1mg Which of these two is better or are they pretty much the same just paying the extra for a brand? Thanks guys
  8. Hey Darlinglocks, That's great info thanks I guess I'll be using those then, feel better knowing I have something in place now. Do you have your fue experience on here? If so Id love to have a look, really excited for mine now Thanks again for the info
  9. I'm sure I heard baby shampoos are good to use is this true? If so I could have my regime as propecia 1.25mg daily, nizoral shampoo twice a week, rogaine foam twice daily and baby shampoo for the rest of the washes? Would washing my hair every day not be bad for my hair? Should I atleast miss out two days where I don't? Just always been told washing your hair loads is bad for it. Thanks for your advice
  10. Thanks for the response David, I did use regaine foam but the clinic has told me to discontinue this for now as using it could cause me to bleed a lot during my fue surgery hence why I am only using propecia at this time. I came across a guys thread on here though that told me minoxidl is good but if you ever stop using it you will lose the hairs permanently that it helped grow/stay and of you start using the foam again these will still not come back? Could you confirm this or is it not true? Also I have looked into using nizoral shampoo and have read to use it only once or twice a week so do you have any suggestions as to what I should use on my hair inbetween these 1 or 2 days a week? Thanks again for your response
  11. Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum.. I've been following this without an account for a good 8 months now and I've finally decided to go threw with a hair transplant and I am booked in with Dr koray in October for 3000 grafts fue. At the moment I use propecia and wash my hair with Taoist soap, Id like to have a regime of stuff to use and stuff to avoid using and know my limits so if someone who knows more on non surgical treatments who could help me by suggest a regime I can use weekly now and after my hair transplant that would be great thanks.
