  1. Dr. Harris is as skilled a surgeon as they come and his credentials absolutely impeccable, but even he cannot guarantee a perfect result. What he can do, like he did here, was to assure the patient that IF things don't turn out as they both expected, he will make it right.

What more could any patient ask for? That's nearly unheard of today in almost any service industry and shows how absolutely stand-up a surgeon Dr. Harris is and why I trusted him implicitly with my transplants.

This book is not yet written. It needs 5 more months, so I'm not sure why so many here are pre-judging the results so harshly. It may turn out there is not much more growth to go, or the OP may grow a tremendous amount between months 8-9 like I did during my first procedure (but to show the variance possible even within patients, all of my growth for my 2nd procedure happened by month 4-5 and I am THRILLED with my result! See Dr. Harris' FUE handiwork below!).

We'll know soon enough how it turns out, but the most important thing is that Dr. Harris come on here to assure his patient that he will stand by him and he should be commended enormously for that!

  2. This is my opinion on the procedure and I'm not trying to put no one off it, it's your life it's your body you only live it once so do what the fuck makes you happy

Please correct me or debate anything you feel is incorrect

    Regards

    Steve

Steve - In my view, you are overthinking this. Agreed that if you're chasing the perfect hair (your teenage hair probably) you'll be remarkably disappointed and yes, you may continue to lose hair after a procedure requiring addition follow-up. Your hair transplanted hair will never be as good as your original, lush, thick non-thinning/non-recending hair.

But, if you're willing to take the chance, sometimes you can end up with utterly fantastic results...

  3. Just saw that case. Almost 4k grafts for a nw2 patient is CRAZY. PPL really needs to call out Dr Erdogan on that. IMO that is malpractice. Very sad to see!

Wow! Almost 4,000 grafts for an NW2?

I was more advanced (a pretty thin NW3) and got a full head of hair with only a bit over 2,000 grafts. I have tons of donor hair left in reserve, just in case. So glad I went with such a conservative doctor!

  4. I really think a highly skilled surgeon can make a lower number of grafts go considerably further with the "illusion" of thick hair - you see it on this Forum often. I have only had a bit over 2,000 grafts and had a dramatic transformation from where I started and I've seen some very high "dense packing" grafts with poor end results.

Doctor skill plays an enormous part in this, in my opinion (and personal experience), so I'd focus on that and finding a super skilled surgeon rather than seeking a set density expectation.

  5. Hello,

Well, after reading all this im super scared to use nizoral, i'm just looking for daily shampoo that will replace Head&Shoulders that im using now.

No need anything with DHT blocker or something like that, just shampoo that won't have tons of chemicals that hurt the hair.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I wouldn't be scared of Nizoral. I'm on the 2% prescription strength 3x/week and my hair has never looked better. Perhaps it adversely affects some people (the common theme in the threads is using it too often) but I think it's generally a good assist in keeping DHT levels down and is highly recommended by many doctors.

  6. I wouldn't worry about it at all. If you are worried about this, you should probably stop walking outside and flying too, for that matter.

"Dental x-rays are one of the lowest radiation dose studies performed. A routine exam which includes 4 bitewings is about 0.005 mSv, which is less than one day of natural background radiation. It is also about the same amount of radiation exposure from a short airplane flight (~1-2 hrs). The American Dental Association recommends that patients who are not having problems have dental x-rays performed every two years. Proper shielding is also common, which makes the potential risk even lower."

  7. I had non-shaven FUE by Dr. Harris. In his practice, they leave your hair long and trim the donor hairs underneath so the donor hair sites are completely undetectable. It made it pretty easy to avoid anybody from knowing about the procedure except, of course, for the first few days where the transplant sites are pretty red and you can't really groom your hair so you just lay low for a little bit.

I did have a good bit of shockloss in the recipient area but nothing in the donor area (at least that I could detect).

Sounds like Dr. Erdogan has a slightly different twist on it but if you go for it, definitely let us know how it goes!

  8. As I concluded: I believe that Dr. Harris is a good trainer to other doctors but not a doctor where you will get an amazing high density result. It is almost impossible to find a real patient result where you are amazed by his results. All his results are very conservative and probably after several surgeries of a few grafts based on my experience with him. Very frustrating but at least I decided relatively on time to switch and now I am super happy.

I don't want to flame you or quarrel with your results. Dr. Lorenzo clearly did a fantastic job for you and you should be super happy with how things are turning out! Your progress really looks great and impressive!

I just wanted to share that while you feel let down by Dr. Harris, I am a VERY happy patient of his. I had fantastic results and terrific (and age appropriate) density but agree that he is on the more conservative side, which is actually what I like tremendously about him.

Dr. Harris did a terrific job which looks very natural which was my goal for my age (40's) but he also has preserved a tremendous amount of donor hair in case I need any procedures in the future due to additional hair loss. I really like how massive a change he made with a relatively small number of transplants which I think is what makes him such a master.

I did have some hair in the front that didn't take well for some reason so he did a small second procedure 5 months ago which is coming in beautifully, and I couldn't be happier with how it's turning out. While he may not be able to please 100% of his patients (no doctor does), he is clearly one of the best hair surgeons in the world and won the 2014 worldwide award for best in his field.

All of that said, Dr. Lorenzo clearly hit this out of the ballpark for you! You look great and hopefully have even more growing ahead so I wanted to share my sincere congratulations to you!
