  1. I plan on keeping a blog on this forum up to the two year mark to (hopefully) showcase my result. It'll be as well written and informative as I can possible make it. Are you from the UK too Wizz? I can just take the Eurostar from London for ?72 return which is a huge bonus too. Perhaps there's lack of patient blogs because he limits his patients to 1 per day/1 per 2 days? I really got the impression hes all about quality results over quantity, hence all the personally done manual work by him. I am currently liaising with his UK rep (pre deposit) and so far the information given has been honest, indepth and informative, so I am very excited. The next 7 months is going to crawl by I really welcome any input/advice here though on the run up to it
  2. Great advice John, I plan on taking all the pain meds recommended because I am traveling back to England via trains which is pain enough! How was your sleep? My procedure is over two days, and I am a pretty bad/light sleeper anyway, so I can see myself getting hardly any sleep after the first night in anticipation of the next day. As for the procedure, do I just sit there for hours on end whilst they do their work? Am I able to drink whenever I please etc?
  3. Hello all! After posting here with some questions regarding UK transplants, I researched deeper and settled on a doctor in Belgium. I am sure you all know the feeling of excitedly and hopefully researching for hours on end once you have decided you are going to take the plunge, and like me have scoured this forum, page upon page looking at stories and blogs about the qualities and quirks of different surgeons. I will be paying my deposit after the bank holiday to secure a slot in early October. I have chosen Dr De Reys because; He does ALL of the work himself, 100% manual. This was extremely important to me because I do not like the idea of a technician/machine being responsible for the work done No mega sessions. I will be doing 2500 grafts over 2 days Very positive reviews from others who have had work done by this doctor since he went independent. Price Now I am asking people who have had FUE, is there anything I can be doing now to prepare? What are the things you wish you knew before the day of the procedure? Almost all 2500 grafts will be going into temple/hairline restoration, with a little thickening in the forelock. Also, if anyone else has any experiences with Dr De Reys feel free to contribute! Thanks
  4. Wow 1550 grafts really went a long way, looks amazing!
  5. Hello Shanson, great pics! It has really encouraged me because I am getting 2500~ grafts to the hairline in the same area done soon. Can I ask who performed your surgery? It looks very clean. Was the 2500 grafts performed over two sessions? Also, did the doc goo anywhere near existing hair, as in thicked up the centre and behind?
  6. Dr De Reys is advertising 3k grafts for 7500 euros. Which is 5400 GPB. Cost of accom and train travel inclusive. However this is from some light research and pre consultation. Although if you are satisfied with your result and the aftercare you're receiving that's what counts
  7. I agree. Thanks for your input. And thank you Nav. However 7500 GPB would have got you triple the amount of grafts at EU rates. Your Inputs have been really really helpful.
  8. Thanks for the input pk & Vories. I have prospectively contacted a few other surgeons outside of the UK, and i await their initial thoughts on the images I provided. However I do plan on attending my consultation at The Private Clinic. I will be sure to get a concrete answer regarding their prices (and possibly feedback here with pictures of my hair and the quotation so others with similar hairloss can get a rough estimate too). Also, shackeds post helped clarify Reddys pricing too, which has convinced me to start looking abroad... I mean 12,000GBP for frontal restoration is insane.
  9. It would be good if someone with any experience with The Private Clinic and their pricing could comment, or KR (I think the user is KR) who represents Reddy on this forum!
  10. The surgeon is Dr Raghu Reddy at The Private Clinic London.
  11. Hello all! I am more than likely going to commit to an FUE procedure this year, and for the past 20 months I have been researching deeply into who I would like to perform the surgery. My consultation is in two weeks which I am extremely anxious about! (In a good and bad way? haha). The main thing is the cost which is causing me confusion. I understand some surgeons charge per hair, others per graft. My chosen surgery happens to charge per hair (?2.50). I am a norwood 3 with frontal recession, and looking at the surgery's previous work, full norwood 7 transplants end around ?8000. Now I am no where near a NW7 of course, but would the cost of my HT be anywhere close to 8k if my grafts contain a lot of 2-4 hairs (taking into consideration that this surgery charges per hair). Another concerning thing is in a lot of the albums of previous patients, it details how many grafts they had, then 5000 hairs for example,. which would equal way over 10,000 pound transplant, when clearly it did not cost that much because it was only a norwood 3. Also, if at the consultation I am estimated to need XXXX amount of hairs at ?XXXX price, but after the surgery it turns out he transplanted a lot more hair than originally thought, will the price be higher than whats quoted? I cant imagine budgeting for 4k then it costing 6k all of a sudden Thanks for reading and sorry if its a confusing question!
