I am 26 and my hairline was drastically receding since 2 years, but unfortunately i never gave a thought about meds or do smthing abt it and had to pay the price now.
Finally after many consultations there was no alternative then using meds, so started on Meds since 3 months.
1 mg Propeica 7X
Rogaine Foam 7X
Nizrol 3% alternate day
After a lot of hesitation decided to go for HT,
My expectations from HT were to have a good hairline and not have a bald spot in the frontal region, was not much worried abt my temple regions as i never had great hair at temple regions. As per many doctors i have a lot of miniaturized hair around my crown and suggested me to wait at least 1 yr on meds before going for HT on crown.
My deciding factors to go with Dr Ross, La Jolla were
1. no requirement to shave the transplanted region
2. PAT's visit and recommendation
3. Price was within my affordable range
thanks Bill and Mike for ur suggestions and replies for all my PM's.
My Donor was also not that great so my hair count was
total grafts -3065
1's - 513
2's - 1811
3's - 741
total hair - 6358
the Day of my surgery i went IN by 6:00 AM,
completed the basic documentation.
Had to wait for 15 mins then had a basic discussion with Dr Ross about what today's plan.
by the time my donor strip was cut and sutures were put i was totally exhausted, had my lunch to gain some energy.
After a little break Dr Ross team started to place the grafts, i absolutely had no pain and half the time i was asleep. By 7 PM all the grafts were placed and my surgery was completed.
i was given juice, cookies and was explained all the post-op precautions and procedures.
Day-1:
i woke up around 6 AM,
got ready and took 2 MethylPREDNIsolone Tablets before breakfast
for breakfast i had scrambled egg, half muffin (did not taste good), fruits (cantalope and honey dew) and yogurt. vomited after 30 mins.
had some fruits again to have some energy before i board my flight. vomited after 30 mins before flight take off, again vomited during landing as my seat was in the last row and there was huge turbulence.
a lady dr mentioned i had nausea, gave me a tablet and asked me not to have anything for 6 hrs.
around 8 PM had my dinner was feeling OK, took the meds and went to bed.
Emailed and called Dr but as it was July 4th did not get any reply, later Dr Ross replied to my email and mentioned meds shouldn't cause any of these issues and this is the first time he is hearing of this problem after HT.
Day-2, untill now: All is good without any problems or pain.
Apart from my 1st day Stomach problems i am really happy abt Dr Ross and his team's work with my HT. I am waiting now for my hair to grow back to see my improved hairline, i know its a really waiting thing.
Please comment regarding my procedure..
