  1. Looks much better, especially the left side. In my humble opinion, I think a good trim and style by a pro stylist would help even more. The top looks a little long vs. the sides. I know it may show some thinner spots if you keeps it a little shorter, but those spots will probably keep filling in over the next few months. You can always grow it back out to this length if you don't like it shorter.

Like I said, you are way ahead of where you started.

  2. I don't see a lot of difference, but that is also not uncommon where grafts are being placed in the midst of a lot of native hairs. Did they discuss with you the possibility of transected native follicles as a result of the procedure?

The upside is you have replaced or added to native follicles that were likely to be unproductive in the future, so you won't go through the hairline recession now that you have permanent grafts there.

I have seen people with a NW1 or NW2 ask this question before after a HT, so I do not find it surprising that you do not see a big difference when your hair loss was minimal prior to HT.

  3. I had great early growth before 90 days post-op. I did not do anything to the grafts in the first 10 days other than dab them with Dr.-provided shampoo and used a cup of water to gently rinse. I did not do ANY gentle massaging while shampooing until day 10. I had almost no scabs, so I can't relate to people who say they needed to "rub" their scabs off in the shower, but I would still be inclined not to rub anything off. Let them fall off naturally with mild water pressure. They'll be gone soon enough and then the waiting begins.

    Good luck!

  4. Will my recent Heart Attack affect my future Hair growth?

In typical Voxman methodology, that's my way of telling you all I had a Heart Attack last Friday.

I am home today resting well - they had to do an emergency Stent into a 100% blocked Artery, and have one more suspect artery that will require work. I am lucky to have finally diagnosed the stupid symptoms and called 911 in time.

I am sure the 100% blockage was the culprit, but seeing Spanker's photos last week could have been a contributing factor.

Good to see you still have that sense of humor, Voxman. Rest up and get better.

  5. Hi

Just want to say I am the guy in these pictures and want to add that I am extremely happy with my result. Dr Rahal exceeded my expectations and Im grateful for that. At 45 i have a lot more hair than i did when i was 35. I dont think about my hair loss anymore, i can style it anyway i want and I leave my hat at home. This was one of the best decisions I have made.

Super. I think it looks great. All that matters is that YOU are happy with the result. I am about your age and I am in month 4. I hope to be as happy as you are about the decision. I have had an above-average first few months, so I remain upbeat about everything.

There are a lot of picky people out here, and sometimes I am one of them. Truth is we balding people probably analyze hair much, much more than the general population, so it doesn't surprise me to see lots of over-analysis on the results.

  6. You're not new to this, you know patients never mention their doctor publicly after a disaster. Usually they just stop posting.

No, I am not new here and that is one reason I question this. Have never seen anything like it and the story is hard to believe. Can you imagine trying to sleep without creating an infection or causing a hemorrhage? This situation required hospitalization. It is impossible to believe a doc would/could send someone home with this.

If he wants sympathy or advice, he needs to be totally transparent.

To start, I would like to see a left side pic showing the recipient zone while I can see the wound simultaneously.

  7. ^That is a pretty inappropriate comment. A guy came, he posted pics, and you don't believe him, despite his photos, and you now accuse him of a conspiracy to malign FUT?

There seems to be some serious Savior syndrome going on with HTs. Guys who get FUT/FUE immediately become shills for that technique or surgeon.

It is TOTALLY appropriate as long as he withholds the Dr.'s name. I specified other appropriate reasons as well. I appreciate both techniques and have said so many times on this forum.

  8. I think this case linked below I believe should be a lesson to us all what drs here are capable of getting away with.Nobody actually knows who he is and just on that basis I would not want to go to a doc in the states who knows you could be sitting in this docs chair.

Roll up roll up any one want to play the fut scar lottery?

Have a good day and be lucky

Photo doesn't look 'real' to me...I mean, the photo may be real, but it was probably taken in the Dr. office right after the strip was removed. I could never believe someone is sent home this way with such little consultation or care as the OP describes. Looks like an FUT hater to me posting a scare pic...especially since he will not name the doc.

I'll only believe it if I see and hear a lot more about this one...

  9. The physician has no obligation to respond on this forum, but if he wants any hope of salvaging his reputation once his name is released, it would be wise for him to prepare a professional response to this case.

This is not a marketing network for doctors. This is a forum "Created by and for Patients". To me, that means doctors are second to patients on this forum.

  10. Well, I'm very pleased with the midscalp and going back to the crown. I am not sure if that is largely due to meds or HT; I am betting it is combination of both. The hairline is continuing to fill out and get lower. I look forward to more density up there in coming weeks. It's quite something that the hairline area growth started from the center and has then been working it's way lower - this pattern has made the growth stage much less noticeable. I basically had no hairline in my before pic and you can now see I have a good deal of growth at the hairline and frontal at week 15. If this pace continues, I expect I will not only have the hairline I desired but also the density across the whole recipient area by week 26. Yes, I know, things can stall and it may take longer, but I have a lot of optimism at the moment,

This has been a fun journey so far, and I am pleased with where I stand at 15 weeks.

  11. If ugly duckling is defined as "looking different, and 'worse', than you did before the HT..." than my ugly duckling was 2 weeks in duration. It lasted from the time I shed all the grafts (week 4) to about 2 weeks later when my native hairs started to return and the graft growth started shortly after that. It's just been growing like mad in weeks 8-14 post-op.

My Dr. puts me in the class of an early grower, but I also totally pampered my head and body to try and get that early growth. Meds (Rogaine + Propecia), supplements (biotin/multivitamin/zinc), and extreme care to head and grafts I believe all contributed to an early growth. Of course the skill of the Dr. and his team had a lot to with it as well. I had zero scabbing and the work was so "refined", as they say, that I could not even tell I had 4000 holes cut into my head the day after the procedure. I literally could go without a hat and had little redness at all.

I also agree with Raiden - I was pretty ugly before, so my ugly duckling period was not a dramatic change from pre-op!
