  1. Hej!
  2. I don't know. He did say that I was an excellent candidate for HT since I have thick and good donor area. I think he meant before. He said : "There have been situations where up to 9000-10000 grafts have been taken but I would never recommend it. In your case, and in most other cases, 6-7000 is enough and gives good results. We will aim at 3-3500 today to cover mostly the crown and future hair loss in the front. It will be easier to see once we shave you and after 12-18 months after the procedure".
  3. I'll call and ask him further about the minoxidil. He did mention that I have around 6000-7000 grafts he can take. But he wanted to avoid that much for now to not compromise the overall appearance.
  4. Yes he did. I showed him pictures of my dad and my dad has hair in the front. It's the crown that is the problem for him as well. But I'll guess I'll have to wait and see. I shouldn't have done it so early right?
  5. I'm currently not on any medication. He told me I could start taking minoxidil if I wanted. His name is Dr Merdan Celik in Istanbul. So it's safe to say that I will have to do another one on the crown?
  6. Both....mostly on the crown though. He did tell me that the crown is a difficult area and it might take 12-18 months for me to see optimal results.
  7. I did a hair transplant 3 weeks ago in Istanbul. I had 3200 grafts done and the doctor was very, very good. I've been doing research for over a year and I know that most doctors don't recommend doing a hair transplant if you are this young. But what's the point in doing it when you are already bald? That kind of defeats the purpose. I know it's only been 3 weeks and I can't speak of the results yet. But the results now are not what worry me. It's in 5-10 years. What if I go even balder and have bald patches? What do I do then? I'm just scared that I made a mistake. Not there is any going back now. But I still feel anxious and nervous about the results. Has anyone else done a hair transplant at this age? What happened later? Here are the results after 3 weeks. I know it's a waitining game and there is nothing I can do but still. My crown area doesn't look good so far. Thanks guys! I really appreciate the help
  8. I did 3200 grafts 2 weeks ago. Still haven't experienced shock hairloss but I guess that is coming. Could anyone take a look. The results seem weird. I know it's early but still.... I was told it could take up to 18 months especially on the crown.
  9. I posted this in the wrong section so I'll post it again here. Sorry about that. I just returned home from Istanbul after doing a FUE procedure of 3200 grafts. I came home 4 days ago. Obviously I can not say much about the result yet but I will update this post once I better see the results. As far as my experience goes I am very happy. I'm from Sweden and I found a turkish guy here who has a company and he only works with Dr. Merdan Celik. This guy works like a middle man and he finds he customers and Dr. Celik does the operations. I paid the total price of 35000 SEK = 3700 EUR. In that price included plane tickets, 4 days at a hotel, all transportation, all the food. The procedure took around 8-9 hours. They were very thorough and professional. On me Dr. Melik worked maybe a total of half the time and he switched with 2 other nurses. He came by the hotel the next morning to take off the bandages and give us the medication. He came by again the following morning to show us how to do a proper wash and gave us some papers. Overall he was a very kind and nice doctor. I had a fungus thing growing on my back. He even proscribed me a medicine and shampoo for that, which he gave me the next day. I also liked Halim, the guy working as a middle man. He was with us every step of the way, translating, taking us to and from the hotel, showing us around Istanbul, taking us shopping and so on. I also want to give a warning to anyone going to Turkey. We met two guys when we were around Istanbul that did the procedure with another clinic. These guys were walking around in the 35 C sun, with their bandages and no head protection. Their doctor had not given them any medication, any instruction and didn't even have a follow up. You can find clinics for half of what I paid but be careful if you do this. I would not recommend it. Going to Turkey or a place like that is already cheating and doing it on the cheap side. Don't be cheap when you are already being cheap. Before I went I demanded references, diplomas, asked dozens of questions. Don't be lazy. I'm still a little red and sore and I only took one quick picture for you to see before and after. As I said I am still only a few days post op so I can't really comment yet on the results. That white thing on the post op picture is a lotion that didn't quite go away after my shower. Sorry about that. Good luck to anyone in the future doing a HT!

  11. So yesterday I had FUE procesdure in Istanbul. Obviously I can't say much about the results yet but it feels good. The doctor, whose name I can not pronounce, was very good. The team was excellent. If anyone is interested I can post the doctors name and the clinic name later. I had 3200 grafts done. Didn't think I needed that much first but he told me I have a thick, good donor area so we might as well do it and hope I don't have to come back for future transplants. Or masala, masala as he said. It took a long time. About 8-9 hours. But I'd rather they do it right the first time and take their time. Anyways I have a few questions. I'm going to ask them the surgeon tomorrow as well but I just want second and third opinions. I'm not very good at this sitting still and doing nothing. I took a 2 week vacation. I could and can probably take more but I don't want to. What the hell am I going to do at home? Day time tv only takes you so far. My question is this. Can you wear a hat about 10 days after the operation? I was hoping to maybe go back to work next Monday. I have an office job so I just thought I would take a hat, tell some lie to my coworkers on why I have a hat and lock myself up in my office. The second question is regarding training and exercise. They told me to be very careful the first month. I'm a boxer and I want to go back and train ASAP. I read online that they do not recommend martial arts for the first 3-6 months. So I can't train for 6 months? Because that would really, really suck. What do you think?
  12. I'm doing a FUE surgery 4th of July when I get off work. The reason I am doing a FUE is because firstly I have no problem with shaving my head, I want to keep the option open to wear short hair and I can do more transplants if needed in the future. I'm really nervous about the surgery. One day it all feels great and then the next it just feels like shit. I'm having around 3000-3500 grafts transplanted and what worries me is going to a wedding in the beginning of August. I don't want to look like a jackass on a bunch of wedding pictures. I have about 4 weeks to heal before the wedding and I have a lot of hair now as it is. Will that cover any and things like that before the wedding? I just want to hear your opinion. And on a completely unrelated issue. What are the benefits of FUE vs FUT and vice versa? Who should go for FUE and who should go for FUT? Thanks! And thanks by the way for a great forum.
  13. I'm going through a Swedish service that has picked out a clinic that they have worked with for the past 10 years. It's a little more expensive than if you go directly through a Turkish clinic but I just feel more secure this way. I can't remember the name of the clinic but the doctors name is Merdan Celik. I contacted the clinic directly and called 5 of their references, I can't find any bad reviews online so I guess it's ok.
  14. I'm doing the surgery July 2nd and at that time she goes away for work and we won't see each other until the second week in August. I haven't told anyone about anything regarding hairloss, surgery or any of that. So there is literally zero chance of her finding out from anyone else.
  15. I hate losing my hair. It's all I can think about, I'm losing my confidence and it just plains sucks. I'm 25 years old and slowly but surely my hair is thinning. I've been in contact with a clinic in Istanbul and I'm going over there to do it in July. I can't wait to be honest. I just want to get this over with. I've spent a year doing research, calling over 20 references, mailing and what not. I think after this I can be a hair loss surgeon myself. One thing I have noticed is that every clinic has clients with bad results. If you do 1000 surgery's/year and 99% are happy there are still 10 that are not happy. I was really scared in the beginning because of these bad stories but at some point you just have to take a chance. However my biggest problem is my girlfriend. I don't know what to tell her or if I should tell her. I won't see her for 6 weeks in July, beginning of August. This is very personal for me and it feels hard to talk about. But at the same time I don't want to lie to her. What do you think?
  16. Well that's good. I hope the surgery goes well for you. But what I worry about is that they are a little too optimistic. I'm calling a man tonight who I found on this forum who says he had a bad experience with Safiye Kurt. So just to be sure I'm contacting another clinic, depending on what he tells me tonight. I'll let you know what happens.
  17. Hello everyone! I just booked a surgery with Adem&Hevva clinic, doctor Safiye Kurt in Istanbul, Turkey. I think I've possibly been the most annoying patent so far. I've sent them like 100 e-mails, asked every question there is. I gotta say I'm nervous. I'm 26 and slowly but surely I'm going bald. I still have what most would consider a full head of hair but it's starting to creep up. It's primarily on the crown. I've tried some medications and things and sure it slowed it down but I don't want to be popping expensive pills for the rest of my life with possible side effects. You know what bothers me the most? You research the internet and it's all good. You read some positive reviews and then BAM some horror story pops up where the doctor accidentally transplanted the patients pubic hair or something. And then I worry about what am I going to tell my girlfriend? I haven't said anything yet. Or maybe I shouldn't say? We won't see each other in July and beginning of August so maybe I should let it slide. But I would rather do the surgery now than in 5-10 years when I'm really bald. I just need some encouragement, some positive stories. What do you guys, in all your infinite wisdom think off all this? Much appreciated.
  18. The results seem great. You should be happy. I myself talked to Adem and Hevva clinic just a few weeks ago and I'm considering to do the surgery in June. I'm really nervous to be honest. But what was your experience in general with them? How did the recovery period look like? Did you lose all your hair and then have it all grow back?
