  1. Shanson are you happy with your results so far from January? I think the last time you updated your thread was at 5 months and things seemed pretty good already to say the least!

It's going ok, still needs to thicken and blend more with my hair. I am just at 7 months now. Of course I would like more hair. I have found that Asmed are not great at getting back in touch with questions etc. Others have said they are good at this but I have found it not to be the case.

Hopefully the growth hasn't stopped but haven't really seen much that I have noticed since month 5-6.

  2. If you have any questions I will do my best to help answer/ support you. Just drop me a message with any questions and will get back to you if you need it. The questions about money and the flight home were some of the concerns I had when I went to Asmed in January. Cheers stuart

  3. Hi Deb,

I'm new to the forum. Must say, I have really enjoyed reading your updates and seeing the pictures. I'm booked with Asmed in October for 5000 grafts. Your positive review amongst others tipped me towards Dr Koray. Hopefully I will have 4 weeks post op, off work. Just a bit concerned about the flight home and all the unwanted stares at the airport. Information on being able to wear a loose hat seems a bit misleading. Any thoughts or advise would be welcome. Keep up the updates.

4 weeks is along time to take off after, you will be heading back to work as the ugly duckling stage is under way. I went back after 10 days as I wanted to show off my new hairline before it had gone.

The flight home wasn't too good for me as I had already started to swell so had a few looks. I didn't cover my head though. There was easily 10 other guys I saw at the airport that had just had a HT. it's very common in turkey. There was 3 of us on the same flight back to Manchester.

Asmed do give you a hat you can wear but it is horrible so I decided not too wear one. A lot of other guys had sweatbands over their foreheads from the clinics they had their HT done.

Honestly you won't care what people think so much because you will be too happy you have actually done it.

  4. Whenever I read posts like this I feel like throwing up. I'm only a bit over a month out from mine and would absolutely LOVE to have had that much growth and be at the four month mark. That much growth at 4 months and you're almost guaranteed for a good result.

Thanks for that. 4 months is early and I'm happy to see growth. The next 3 months you will most likely feel just like everyone else. It's a long road, just got to keep busy

  5. Today is 4 months. I am feeling very impatient now but understand it's still early days.

I got another spot a few days ago, it's been a while since I have seen one appear. I hope the density increases because I think there are gaps where hair was implanted.

I am going to try not think about it too much for another month (easier said than done)

  6. I have recently found some products called Mr Jamie Stevens. I had my hair cut shorter than i liked and had a family event. I bought the shampoo and conditioner. which has really made my hair feel soft, especially the transplanted hair at the front. I then bought the disguise spray to give the front an extra boots- i only use the smallest amount, maybe one spray each side of my hairline. i then use the hair paste which is really good and finish with the seal spray. All great products. To me a great find.

  7. for my second HT i was told i wouldnt have to shave my head. I was having more density put into my hairline. I was prepared to have a full shave as i did with my first HT. I still had to had chunks shaved from the back and the area along the hairline. I was able to cover this with the rest of my hair.

I dont think it has effected the outcome but im still only 5.5 months post HT. I was worried about the shave the first time, but it was bad at all. I also wish i had it shaved for my second HT as i think my hair looked a mess with shaved sections. in my opinion its so much easier to just shave, for both the surgeon and yourself.

It was much easier to clean when shaved and i couldnt hide anything so i embraced it. i was actually told a shaved head suited me, and i really didnt expect that.

  8. Hello robc,

Not sure if it was me you may have found asking about the transplanted hair growing darker, I did ask on here but don't think I got any answers from anyone. Anyway, when my hair started to grow it was a lot darker than the rest of my hair. This lasted until the one year mark. I am now 18 months since my hair transplant and it has blended in colour a lot better now. Still a little darker but nothing noticeable.

Your hair is coming along nicely too.

  9. I could have left it but wanted a finished product really. I was told from the start it will take two goes to get the density I wanted. As the second one was so small I was willing to see it through after the results from the first.

I am taking propecia, I have been doing this for 3 years now.

Thanks for saying it looks great :-)

  10. I will add some photos sure. I haven't really taken any like I did last time. I have been more laid back about it and tried to get on with everything without watching it too much. Think I will give it another month and stick some photos up. Thank you for asking how it's been going

  11. Hello RichFrog,

I am now 3 months after having a few hundred more grafts added to the hairline. I am very pleased with how it is looking. I had some growth at 2 months and there's plenty of hairs still popping up. I am glad I did it again and it has once again made me feel more confident and worry less.

This time round though it feels like it has taken a long time to get to the 3 months stage and have my hair grow back to a length I can style it. Now I'm at 3 months I can see it only improving.

  12. It actually turned out to be more than 500. I ended up with 800, 400 each side and along the entire hairline as there was a bit in the middle of the hairline which would benefit from more grafts.

I didn't shave my head so hope that I will look like my old self a bit quicker this time
