  1. Oooops , I forgot to mention the doctor I saw is actually a dermatologist that is now doing hair transplants and being a reader on this forum for a while before joining I can tell you that he has a good reputation here . I used the 300 dollar an hour rate cause he's a dermatologist and not a plastic surgeon .
  2. Hi guys , I recently had a consultation with a doctor in Los Angeles and was told I would need 2500 grafts for a price of 7500 dollars . Now I know some doctors charge even more than that but I when I left his office I felt like that the doctor was over charging me by a lot . Let me tell you why I think if you pay more than 4000 dollars for any amount of grafts you are being ripped off . Let's start with the doctors rate . 300 dollars an hour for 8 hours = 2400 dollars Now we all know when you get a transplant the doctor is not working the whole 8 hours on your head but will give him the full pay since he's just there in the office . Now let's get to the technicians . I actually know a technician and she makes 15 dollars an hour so will go with that , now you can add a few more dollars if you want but it won't make a big difference . 4 technicians for 8 hours = 480 dollars for all 4 Now let's get to rent , equipment , insurance , utility's etc for one day . Will give the doctor a very very generous 700 dollars for the day your there . Let's add it all up . 2400 + 480 + 700 = 3580 Now you can add another 420 dollars for whatever else you want and it will come out to 4000 dollars . Now , why is this doctor telling me it will cost me 7500 dollars ? He's making what he should at 300 dollars an hour plus all his other expenses are covered . Also it doesn't matter if your getting 2000 grafts or 5000 grafts . If your paying more than 4000 dollars you are getting ripped off . Now this is ONLY MY OPINION . just know this , you have a lot of room to bargin if you get a outrages price like I did .
