  1. Hey Wing definately stay away from that clinic that said no consult......they just want your money. the good thing about this site is that you will be able to find a good doctor on here and not have to really worry about the outcome. I just booked a procedure in October with Dr. Wong from Hasson & Wong after doing tons of research. I to am on a budget and at the end of the day decided to finance part of my surgery because I dont want have to worry about the outcome so the extra money is worth it.....in that I am confident in the Dr. I picked and the results that I saw. If you cut corners and some dr. screws you up, you will be paying alot more in the end just to try and repair the work. There are some great doctors on here at fair prices like H&W, Dr. Rahal, Dr. Feller, Dr. Shapiro and the list goes on. Consult with some over the phone and send pics online to them, that's what I did. Also dont be afraid to travel to get the procedure done. I am traveling across the country and literally into another country to get my transplant done. Usually any good doctor will give you an allowance to cover airfare and hotel stay. Sorry to ramble on and I hoep this helps a little. If you have any questions at all let me know because I have been through what you are going through right now and know how it feels.
  2. hey dougster I looked into Armani quite extensively myself and the other posters are right when saying ethics does not really come into play with his evaluations. He will bascially give you whatever you want in terms of hairline. If you tell him you want an 18 yr old hairline then you will probabaly get it. But future hair loss or thinning is not really taken into the decision. So what you will be left with is a dense packed 18 year old hair line.....a bald or thinning rest of your head down the road......and not enough donor hair left to fix the problem. Plus I found out that a ton of those pictures on his website are from strip procedures and not FUE. If you look through alot of them it will actually say it at the bottom in small print (done using strip procedure).
  3. thanks hairdew and jmg for the warm welcome!!!! And thanks for the advice jmg on the laxity excercise I have to make sure I am not lazy with that and start now.
  4. Hello all I am new her obviously but have been an avid reader on this forum for quite some time now. I am 31 years old and have been losing my hairline and thinning since I was 25. It has been very hard because I am in a band that is very well known and in the public eye so for the past 6 years I have been trying to figure out ways to still wear my hair cool but at the same time cover up the problem. It finally got to the point now where I can't hide it anymore and finally decided to get a transplant done. This site has been tremendous in helping me decided what doctor I wanted to go with. After consulting with and investigating several doctors over the past months I kept going back to the same one over and over again.....Hasson and Wong who is obviously very well know on this site. I talked with Mike Ferko who was probably one of the most down to earth guys. I liked how he talked to you like your one of his buddies and not just some number he is trying to sell. I could tell he cared about my situation and knew what I was going through because he went through it himself at one point. My procedure is booked for this October with Dr. Wong, where I will be getting 3500 grafts to rebuild the hairline and area behind it. I will keep eveyone posted on my progress and will try and put some pictures up of my hair now as soon as possible. I that by telling my story it will help others get through their hair loss dilema. Do your research and don't be afraid to travel. I am flying across the country into another country to get this done because I believe in the work and feel I dont have to worry about the end result. Talk to you all soon
