Looking great Luke! Excited to see how this progresses, already seeing a lot of growth at 4 months.
-
Just looked at your thread and you look great!, wait for your six month update.
i'm on day 59 post op and haven't touched my hair yet, kinda nervous to do that.
after 2 weeks from your FUE procedure you cut your recipient area?
Thanks! Ya I'm thrilled with the results so far, just about a week shy of 6 months now, will update the thread then. Do you have your own thread with progress updates?
I had my donor and crown area trimmed after 2 weeks, not the recipient. I don't remember when I first got my recipient area cut, but I know it was quite a while after the transplant because most of the hair had shed by that point and it took a while to grow to any length worth cutting.

YOU, sir, are the predatory presence you claim the industry is. Your LINK is not allowed here. Your total of two (2) posts to date are horrible examples of companies using this website for personal gain and selling snake oil. You best leave now before the mods deactivate your account.
This shit makes me furious.
A lot of these spam posters are using software to automatically create accounts and post here. They almost never see your replies. I think this site's forum software needs to be updated with better spam protection in place because it's currently too easy to bypass.

I've been going to the same barber for many years now. Told him I was getting a transplant and started getting regular cuts just 2 weeks after my FUE procedure. Because I told him about the transplant, he understood (with my instruction) not to touch the recipient area for a while, and as time went on, he frequently adjusted my haircut to make the best of what I looked like during the ugly duckling stage.
Now he's excited every time I come in for a haircut because he enjoys seeing all the new growth coming in haha.

Both Doctor Hasson and Doctor Wong are turning out impressive Fue results. Additionally, the fact that the Canadian dollar is in the toilet would certainly make H&W attractive from a cost perspective.
I may be wrong about this, but I think H&W only charges Canadians in Canadian dollars, while US patients are charged in USD.

Hey HairDew, I think your results look excellent so far, major improvement from where you were pre-op. I remember reading about your issue with necrosis when it happened and it was worrisome, but I'm very happy everything turned out so well for you.
-
Wow, I think this is the only bad result I've seen from H&W. Very sorry you didn't get the results you were hoping for, I'm sure that must be incredibly disappointing. I'm curious to know if you spoke to Dr. Hasson to get his input on what happened here.

There are for sure some women attracted to the Vin Diesel types. There is a matching piece for everyone. You mostly find this women in dedicated fitness studios or clubs. I used to know a couple of women like that. But I guess the major reason that these guys are famous is, that boys (!) who watch action movies like them. Most women I know laugh about these guys and/or find them disgusting.
I can't speak for anyone else, but when I was talking about getting in good shape, I didn't mean you had to bulk up to look like Vin Diesel. All I was saying is that if you're bald and out of shape, then being bald and in shape will make you much more attractive to the majority of women. It's about doing the best with what you have.

Gotta chime in here. I never had extreme hair loss because I stopped it relatively early with finasteride, so my opinion may not mean much, but here it goes...
I'm a gay man. I find a LOT of bald guys and guys with severe thinning hair very attractive, but they have to be in good physical shape. It may sound shallow, but that's a requirement of mine, and that goes for pretty much all guys with hair or not.
Will most guys look better with hair than without? Absolutely. But even if you're completely bald, you can do a LOT to make yourself look better by working out, taking care of yourself, dressing well, and projecting authentic self-confidence (which often is a natural result of the previously listed self-improvement steps).

Looking good! Definitely starting to see some growth there and the scar looks great. Exciting times ahead

Looks great! Big change from month 4. At this point I think you can rest assured that you will have an excellent result. I've decided to just stop looking at my scalp up close in the mirror because it seems virtually impossible to judge progress that way.
-
Your hairloss pre treansplant was very moderate , welldone for taking medicine on time.
I learnt from your posts the waiting time is 1.5 years to have transplant by Dr Konior.
Thanks! My hair loss actually looked at lot worse back when I was in my early 20s, but luckily fin helped regrow a lot of it back. If I didn't wait 4 years to start, I probably wouldn't have needed a transplant at all.
Hi Justin77. I know how you feel. I just reached my fifth month and I went from being excited the previous month to sometimes getting anxious on the fifth - thinking if my hair will still grow thicker or not.Haha ya, it's a rollercoaster. Today is my official 5 month mark and I feel much more relaxed about the whole thing overall. Seeing how different my pics look from 4 to 5 months has given me confidence that things are happening and I just need to have patience and wait it out.

If I were you I would try to visit with a top doc not too far from you so you can get a consultation in person. That way you will know 100% if you are a good candidate for a transplant.
I can't see a problem with your donor area in the pic but it's hard to tell from pics alone. Several posters here and a few docs were concerned about my donor because of the way I had photographed it, as I was wearing it very short on the sides and under bright lighting. It made it look very thin. When I saw a couple doctors in person, they verified that my donor area was actually quite good and I was a good candidate overall.

5 Month Update
Things are going well! While I had a bit of anxiety this past month thinking that I wasn't growing as quickly as I should be, I realized that it was because I was inspecting my scalp everyday looking for new signs of growth, and the process is too slow to be able to gauge progress like that.
Very happy with where I am at the 5 month mark (well, 3 days short of the 5 month mark to be accurate). My hairline is much more pronounced now and I feel like I am looking better than I did prior to the surgery which was the ultimate goal. Excited about what's to come!
Also, I just got back from getting a haircut. Sides buzzed to a 1 guard and I can't tell that anything had been done to my donor area. Thrilled with the way it looks, Dr. Konior did an incredible job.
I'm still doing a mini-combover style for the front center of my scalp because that's where I was mostly bald before and it hasn't caught up yet, but I'm very optimistic about everything evening out over the next few months.

Whoa, amazing result, what a dramatic change! I agree with aWidowsPeek, this guy must be ecstatic with his new look.

Great question from “home1212” above. Very curious to know how the ink issue was resolved. Much more natural looking results. Well done Dr. Wesley.
This was mentioned in the initial post:
Dr. Wesley suggested that the patient undergo laser removal of the SMP.I'm not sure if this was done at Dr. Wesley's practice or not, but very cool that they were able to remove it completely and so naturally.

Thanks for the update. Looks like you've had a fair amount of growth so far! I think it may be easier to judge month to month progress if you grow your hair out a little bit, as I believe with transplanted hair that's what allows you to get the illusion of density. Definitely a lot more growth to look forward to as well
Your donor area looks great. I wear my sides at the same length and also have undetectable scarring after an FUE with Dr. Konior. I ask my barber all the time if he can see any scars and he always tells me he is shocked because he can't tell any difference from the way it looked before.
-
Looking good Midwesterner! Exciting times ahead
-
Thanks lukeyb! Hoping for more density of course, but still early in the game. Looking forward to taking my 5 month result pics in a week to compare them to last month's.
-
Looking forward to seeing your pics, and encouraging to know that growth continues to a noticeable degree after the 6 month mark. Congrats on the successful result!
-
Looking good so far lukeyb! Excited to see how it looks at the month 4 mark as I'm betting the growth will be quite noticeable by then. Can already tell that the hairline on your right side is starting to take shape.
-
Not at all. You've had significant growth from 3 months to 4 months! Definitely way too early too be worried about anything, your result can easily turn out to be great.
-
Looks right on track! And great improvement from the 3 month mark. My bet is that you're going to be thrilled with the final result.
-
I had a 1700 graft FUE and my head was fully shaved. I'd say that I felt like I was out of the ugly duckling stage by the end of 4 months. And now just half a month later, I actually think I look better than I did prior to the surgery as the new hairline is quite obvious and frames my face better.
Still not close to my final result yet, but I feel completely normal-looking and don't hesitate at all to go out anymore.

You may also want to look at LendingClub. I financed half of my operation's cost through them and it was a pretty easy process overall. I paid the loan off early because I'm making more money now but it enabled me to get the transplant last year when I really wanted it (tried to avoid getting a transplant in the spring / summer months).
