  1. Thanks for your feedback/reply. Glad to hear you're happy with the results.

I'm leaning towards Dr. J. Peralta-Arambulo (but will definitely give Cacas a look). Is there a reason you didn't go with Dr. J. Peralta-Arambulo? Or were you just happier with Cacas?

Do you recall the quote Dr. J. Peralta-Arambulo gave you?

They are actually working in the same building :) medical city have alot of floor and different services.

I simply didnt choose her because of lack of response and no intrest from her side. didnt answer simple questions like how much the graft price was and estimate how many grafts she think it would be. not even questions simular to "if i go there on monday is there any possibility t do the surgery the next day so i dont need to travel back and forth"

she blamed her team for not knowing but i didnt feel comfortable with her.

Check medical city's homepage, they have 3 different doctors for hair transplant

  2. Hi, I'm also considering a hair transplant in the Philippines (relocating there for a job). I was wondering if you made a decision on a surgeon and if so which one? How satisfied/dissatisfied were you with them? Thanks in advance for your reply.

I went to meet Theresa Cacas at medical city in pasig (MARC) mostly because she have been trained by Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich at medical city in bangkok which i confirmed by contacting his team.

    2,345 grafts - 60php each (if belove 2000 its 70 i think)

She was very professional and kind. and i love the result (fixed the sides and frontal) the frontal is to thin for my teaste since the hair a lil backward is thicker but its because you cant transplant to much at once due to the survival rate of the hair. thats why you usually need a second seassion for frontal. however she estimated 2500 but only got 2345 from the cut and that may be the reason.

However she dont recommend minoxidil on the transplanted area which i do dissagree, my hair started to grow back in 1 month after the transplanted hair shedded and 3-4 months it looks like i never had a problem (sadly a lil thin in the front like i mentioned)

Start use minoxidil liquid 10 days after surgery (no open wounds) to speedup the growing process and in most cases you skip the shock shedding in nearby area. and in a few lucky cases you dont even loose the newly transplanted hairs.

  3. So it's been 3 months and the only thing I notice is my receding hairline.

Considering the low cost of minoxidil, I am willing to give it another 3-4 months.

However, if the continued use of minoxidil is going to increase the rate of recession compared to not using it, I am thinking I should stop it immediately. Thought?

My sides started to go backwards when i started but now grownout again even better then before. shedding is normal the first months since the damaged hair gets healed (going to resting state) then growout again

  4. Hello everyone, im going to do my hair transplant around September and have been looking into Dr J. Peralta-Arambulo.

So my question is simply if anyone have any experience with Dr. J. Peralta-Arambulo which havea clinic by the name Asian Hair Restoration Center.

From what i have found they have instagram, facebook and youtube channel. and you can see some results of theirs operations but its mostly minor and not really frontal restorations which is what im looking for.

I have also been looking into Dr. Manzanares and Dr. Andrew Pineda but their homepages kind of give you nightmares, however a member on this forum have been talking well about them.

if anyone else have any tips or recommendations im happy to look into it :)

Note im only looking in the philppines

And as mention im looking for frontal (Female hairline like this)

  5. interesting nickerian I dont remember hearing that theory.

also good to know is that different areas of your body have different sleeping cycles. some places 90% of your hair is awake while on some just 50%.

    http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/148765-shedding.html

In all cases, treatments or no treatments, shedding is not actually "losing hair". This is one of the most common misconceptions in the world of hair loss. Shedding is in fact just the transition of follicles from growth phase to resting phase. They don't fall out and die, never to return. They in fact "go to sleep", to return several months later. Hair follicles work in cycles as part of their normal processes. Even the person not losing his or her hair goes through the same cycles. The hair will grow for awhile, and it will rest for awhile.

  6. Thanks for letting me know. Perhaps the combination you are doing is helping you more. My experience for the time I was taking it was shedding, especially after taking a shower. The hair that Rogaine caused to fall out quicker never grew back. I'm glad that Rogaine seems to be working for you though.

Im not sure how long you had been using it but

Recently, some studies using a digital phototrichogram (Trichoscan, Marburg, Germany) proved that there was indeed a quantifiable increase in shedding and a corresponding loss of hair density in the first 3 months of minoxidil use. However, by the 6 month stage the subjects were shown to have regrown the lost hair and had increased hair density compared to that recorded at the start of treatment. By 12 months after starting minoxidil use their hair density was much improved and the diameter of the hair fibers was thicker than at the start of treatment and as compared to controls who did not receive treatment.

  7. Finasteride is mainly used for the treatment of male pattern baldness and benign pro-static hyperplasia. FDA's approved dose is only 5 mg once a day and if it is increased that level it may affect you inversely. Recently I done a hair treatment from Canadian Hair Transplant center (chtc.ca) and they suggested me no to use this in an increased level. Finasteride have many side effects and it concerning an increased risk of prostate cancer. So it's better to consult any hair treatment clinic before you use this one.

I have never heard that anyone recommend 5mg/day thats for cure enlarged prostate.

recommended dose is about 1mg (propecia) however due to the results here i recommend 1.25mg (5mg splitted 4 times)

Propecia Rogaine Finasteride Results Before and After Photos | Bernstein Medical

  8. It made my hair recede more, especially the right side, it made it receide quicker...after about 6 to 8 months of it I finally stopped using it for fear that i'd lose more hair.

It has been almost two years and the hair never came back. Now I have an uneven hairline and have to style it weird to hide the patch. I would have better off never taking Rogaine!

I heard it is supposed to make the hair fall out and regrow new hair, but what if it makes it worse? As a grad school student in college I did not want to take that chance. I honestly thought the hair would grow back.

Would like to know others responses to this. Or if they had similar results, or people who had their hair fall out but continued taking it. This is depressing me as I have not even lived half my life yet.

    quote

    3months slow and stops

    6months start regrow

    12 months see result

    ----------------

    from what i understand.

For me im really happy white small hairs on my bald sports on the sides, not even sure if i will need a hair transplant bit i will do anyway just to make it thick :)

im not just talk 1-2mm im talking like 5-10mm long now,

however just been using fin and minoxidil for almost 2 months, but been using saw palmetto for a few months, i guess thats why i started getting results already.

  9. if your hair gets dry, get a hair "impact" idk the english name. however you leave it in for 30 min, then wash it out. if you need help ask any female friend or relative they usually know that kind of stuff :)

PS apply shampoo while shower, wash it out, applie conditioner (leave in for 5-10 min while cleaning your body) then just pull water on your head, you should still feel that u have conditioner in your hair when you walk out of the shower, when you pull your hand throught your hair is should feel feels soft and easy and silky, no resistance.

I also changed away from head and shoulder to elvital because of the same reason.

  10. Form what i understand with fin is that once it takes effect it restarts the "life cycle" (which i think is estimated to 6 years on the head?) of the hair follicles with more healthy hair.

However im not sure if that should apply to the transplanted hair since its not damaged to begin with due to its DHT resistance

  11. nizoral 2% can easy be found on ebay cheap, just select a top rater seller

(can be found in local drug store also by other name, the active indigence is "Ketoconazole 1%-2%" and is mainly used for bad scalp and fungus)

used maximum 2-3 times a week, guess people who have experienced shedding form this may have used it more common?

Minoxidil 5% can also be found on ebay cheap, just select a top rater seller

(brand name rogain, can be found expensive on local drug store)

Dont buy propecia, buy finansteride (much cheaper) and you get it by go to your local hospital say that you want finansteride for your hairloss. tell them that you want 5mg and cut down to pieces.

in sweden i get supplie for 3 month only 15 dollar (finansteride Teva 5MG)

1/4 of 5mg (1.25mg) i would recommend due to this Propecia Rogaine Finasteride Results Before and After Photos | Bernstein Medical

Instead of biotin, just buy vitamins specified for your hair and nails. they include biotin and alot of B vitamins

Ebay is safe, just look for a top rated seller (>95% possitive) and have sold alot.

Its the real product, just bought form the store and shipped to you. usually to a lower price then your own place

  12. I am hearing some encouraging results with minoxidil, even for receding hairlines that I suffer from. However, it states that it works best for those under 40. How does this compare for those of us over 40.

Fin and minoxidil help damaged hair get healthy. dead hair is dead.

Thats why age matters when it comes to restoring hair, not preventing future hairloss.

  13. Stress is a common cause for hairloss, if you stress about loosing hair you will actually loose more. eat healthy food (junk food is your enemy)

Dont be to ruff with your towel.

If you have long hair like me, remember to comb from the edges and work yourself into the scaly not form the scalp and out, if you put your hair in towel make sure its not pulling your frontal hair (heavy towel)

Use good shampoo and conditioner (while you are not using Nizoral)

    -----------------------------------

They usually have specific vitamin tablets you can buy for your hair and nails and skin (since its combined) so you know that you get everything you need

    example

    vitamin

    E,b1,b2,b3,b5,b6,b7,b12

    sink, copper and so on

    -----------------------------

Remember Nizoral should only be used twice a week (as i understand)

I cant say much about how fast fin should take effect but i know that it was very rapid for me, however i started minoxidil and Nizoral on the same time and it have just been 1-2 months for me and i noticed shedding already, not much but its noticeable while combing and shower.

  14. Im 23 year old and i started taking medication because my grandpa is bald (moms side) and i noticed hairloss on the sides (Stage 3 at the moment my grandpa have stage 6) i have been using for soon 2 months.

    I take

    -1/3 of 5mg fin

-Minoxidil to fasten the hair restoration progress (will stop taking that later, its just to boost the process before finansteride take full effect),

I Apply on the sides where im bald and on the top where i still have hair (since you should continue even after your hair grow back i assume it just improve the result)

-Nizoral (ketocanazole 2%) because its good for your sclap and people say it works good.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

The results so far is that

    - I have been loosing more hair (but as i understand when the threatment start working on your hair follicles, you start to loose the damaged hair thin hair and new healthy hair start to growback "thicker")

    - Minoxidil have some magic power to make your hair "swollen" so it looks and feel thicker (using kirkland minoxidil foam)

-Nizoral maked my sclap feel much more healthy

-Starting to see thin white hair popup on my bald spots on the sides, (not sure if thats because i did eat saw palmetto before, its a little early for minoxidil and fin to take effect)

i will do a hair transplant soon to cover up my currect bald spots anyway and lower the front), see images in my album

    --------------------------------------------------------

Important to know is that The male hairloss is genetically gained form your Mother not father.

If your grandpa is bald you have 50% to get bald, if your grandmas dad is bald you add 25% and so on. it sound weird to me that you say its only your fathers side who is bald.

Its based on the X chromosome which is earned by your mother if your a boy.

  15. I didnt mean to push you down, just want to share my thoughts and advice you to not make a bad decision. Do more research and no quick fix. Good luck!

i do understand the risk. however i do take minoxidil for now and will continue for a year this is just because it works more rapid then finasteride. i will take finasteride for the rest of my life. already got a 5 year prescription. studies shows that people who take it usually regrow some of the lost hair up to 5 year after that you keep taking it because the effect of finasteride dissapear after 6+12 months and your hairloss would begin again.

It does work not only on the crown, which people that use rogain have noted on their hands. its just that the study was only aimed for the crown since people that havent started hairloss didnt applie.

This is why i will do the hair transplant at young age. since most studies shows that i shouldnt worry aslong as i keep taking the meds.

    Male pattern baldness

As measured by hair counts, in a five-year study of men with mild to moderate hair loss, two out of three of the men who took 1 mg of finasteride daily regrew some hair. In contrast, all of the men in the study who were not taking finasteride lost hair. In the same study, based on photographs that were reviewed by an independent panel of dermatologists, 48% of those treated with finasteride experienced visible regrowth of hair, and a further 42% had no further loss. Average hair count in the treatment group remained above baseline, and showed an increasing difference from hair count in the placebo group, for all five years of the study. Finasteride is effective only for as long as it is taken; the hair gained or maintained is lost within 6–12 months of ceasing therapy.[2] In clinical studies, finasteride, like minoxidil, was shown to work on both the crown area and the hairline,[3] but is most successful in the crown area.

A recent 10-year study of 118 men treated with 1 mg/day finasteride for androgenic alopecia found that 86% of men continued to benefit from treatment over the entire course of 10 years—showing increased or stable rates of hair growth—and only 14% experiencing any further hair loss. Interestingly, it was found that subjects who showed the most hair growth in their first year of treatment were more likely to have better hair growth after 5 years, with nearly 69% of these patients experiencing continued growth; however, many of those who experienced no growth in their first year of treatment were found to improve later on. It was also found that subjects who were older than 30 years of age tended to have better hair growth in the long run, presumably due to having experienced more hair loss by that point in their lives in comparison.

  16. Looks like you came here not for advise but to convince others of a decision that you have already made. Good luck with that.

No not at all but the only suggestion i got so far was from you. the other 2 was rater to push me down instead of being helpful.

The reason why i didnt reply to your was because i was looking for someone in the philippines.

  17. I don't feel confident in these two clinics that you have mentioned. You should have no doubt about the clinic you choose to have perform such a life-changing act on your body. I urge you not to consider having an HT at all because you don't have the necessary information to consider making an informed decision. The reasons why the clinics are not mentioned here are apparent. With very little irrefutable documentation available to support your decision to pursue these clinics, I don't see any reason why you would take hair transplantation by these clinics seriously. Great bargains are objects that you are willing to consider as being a complete loss. Results are considered to be the proof that speaks on behalf of a doctor or clinic.

Most doctors listed are from america, therefore there is most likely good once that are not listen.outside america.

I have seen posts about frank back in 2008 that's 6 years ago. and since i can find nothing negative about him except that someone that designed the website used stolen pictures, it probably means he does his job.

If a costumer is happy about a result, he tells 3 close people

If a costumer is unhappy he tells 27 people

    (by statistics)

Finding nothing bad about someone who have been on the market for a long period of time is usually a good sign. You pay for something and you get what you pay for, nothing special. if you dont get what you want you tell everyone, thats how humans works.

My question was if someone had experiences with him, not to prevent him from getting costumers when you have no know length about him.

Im not saying he is good or bad, all im saying is that he seem serious and know what he is talking about, however i did found another serious one from philippines that seem to be more known "Julieta Peralta-Arambulo".

    -----------------------------------------

There is only 20 doctors listen outside america in the "top list" and its only in 11 countries. while there is 196 countries in the world (depending who you ask) and there is noone listed of the high educated areas like sweden, norway, denmark and so on where they need licenses and permissions to even do the surgery.

Instead of saying that im too young (bjutatorp) keep on topic and read what it says. i already take medication to stop the hairloss to evolve.

Stating that i lack information and that i shouldn't do HT at all because i dont know how to do research is a bit childish (WHTC-7706631290), when i went here ask if anyone had experience about that clinic. 3 people reply all went offtopic instead of actually provide anything usefull, i did state why i wanted in philippines and i asked if anyone had knowlength about him, meanwhile ofcourse i keep looking for someone i feel better about

  18. Du borde v?nta med en HT. Du ?r ung och ditt h?ravfall ?r i ett v?ldigt tidigt stadie. G?r du en HT nu kommer du nog ?ngra dig rej?lt senare i livet. Lycka till i alla fall!

since im taking finasteride my hairloss shouldent continue. instead pause itself at the current stage :)

    https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/product/PROF/PropeciaFinasteride/

at the moment i also take minoxid since i assume it helps to prevent more rapidly, untill the finasteride starts working

    https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/product/54/Minoxidil-5-3-Month-Supply/

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On topic noone that have heard from him?

I do have found some nice things said about him but its a little unclear i would say. however If noone have any suggestions i guess i have to give him a try! :)

The price was very affordable and he seem to know what he is speaking about on email. The onlything that bothers me really was the thread about fake pictures.

HARIRI: (1761 posts, so i guess he have been around for a while)

There is one surgeon in manila where i heard many good feedbacks from him, his name is Dr Frank Manzanares and his clinic called MANZANARES HAIR RESTORAION CENTRE, thats his website

    (Link Removed by Moderator)

Its in Ortigas Centre at Pasig city. I chatted with him before, he sounds a very professional doctor, many artists from ABS-CBN and GMA pinoy TV are goin for him.

Monaco: (7posts, i guess not really reliable)

Well, I registered with this forum specifically to answer this question. I just had a (approx.) 2,800 graft strip method transplant procedure done by Dr. Frank Manzanares yesterday. Years ago, I had been in contact with another well-known hair surgeon in Manila, Dr. Andrew Pineda (Dr. Manzanares and Dr. Pineda are friends who go way back), but his clinic's location was way too far for convenience, and the spouse was hesitant at the time because my hair was certainly bound to look worse in a year or two.

Doing a search for Dr. Manzanares, I was initially discouraged that there were so many spam blog results in Google, which was probably a sad consequence of some over-zealous resellers sandbagging site after site with the same articles and write-ups on Dr. Manzanares.

I decided to visit him personally, and my initial meeting went very well. He answered all my questions and concerns very clearly and in excellent detail. I scheduled surgery, and he advised me take PT/PTT blood tests, and to start taking papayas and pineapples days before the surgery.

The surgery went faster than the expected 10 hours. It felt like having a neck lift at the back of your head due to the sudden tightness. In any case, I was able to drive home without problems. Some parts of the donor scar were still bleeding until earlier this morning. By around 12 noon, there was no more bleeding at all. It's now 10PM here and I think I've adjusted well. I didn't appear to have any swelling, and my head doesn't feel as tight anymore. The only thing I can complain of is that my sutures are a bit swollen and itching quite a bit. I wish they'd heal much faster.

I found Dr. Manzanares' staff to be solid veterans at their work. The whole procedure was efficient, non-stop, and you could definitely tell that they have had lots of experience. Apparently, 60% of their clientele come from abroad.

Today, I passed by to have one graft of 3 hairs that I scratched off by accident, reinserted (stored in contact lens solution). Thankfully, one of his staff was able to assist me in spite of them having another procedure today.

I'll be back in Dr. Manzanares' office in 6 days, for him to assess the scar's healing. While I certainly can't say anything for the results yet, so far, the transplant looks good, and I was satisfied with Dr. Manzanares and his staff's work. The cost was about US $1.54 per graft.

    https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/138130-dr-frank-manzanares-fue.html

    HARIRI : (once again)

I said it many times to many Filipino members. Dr. Manazares is one of the only trusted Doc in hair transplant in my opinion in Philippines located in Pasig city Manila. However Dr. Andrew Pineda located in Makati City Manila is the superior one IMO but more expensive, also he does tri-closure for the scar. However these two surgeons are the only ones I would trust in Philippines.

I met Manazares personally when visited Manila and he was very professional and knew what he is saying, he reminded me of Dr. Path from Bangkok. He is alright to me, cant say perfect like Rahal or Bisanga or SMG or Feller, but very good.

Monaco is right. Many foreigners goes to him and may i say I know 2 celebrities and 2 politicians went to him from Philippines. The good thing about this DOC, his technicians are not fresh ones, they are very experienced and professional. Thats what I can say. And yes, he does FUE now by using the Choi implanter.

But If you want the best in Philippines then its (Dr. Andrew Pineda) for sure, however you need to have more money if Filipino. If Foriegner then it would piece of cake, cause HT surgery in Asia is very affordable due to currency difference. Its cheaper than Bangkok even for real :-)

  19. Hello im a male 23 year old from sweden.

I started to experience hairloss already at age 20 and its the "wings" on the side that got lost. however today im taking kirkland Minioxidil which i will stop doing when i run out since i now have Finasteride Teva (5MG which i cut down to smaller pieces)

The issue is still the hairline in the front and the wings as stated. i have a girlfriend in Philippines i will visit soon again and on the same time i was looking forward to do a hair transplant. i do find alot of different clinics but none recommended on this site and barely any information when i search around.

The most serious i found was

Dr. Frank Manzanares << seem really serious and know what he is talking about on email

    link removed

but i found a thread on Hair loss forum form 2008 about stolen pictures

    (Link removed by moderator)

on the same time i found a thread here where people recommended him

    http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/138130-dr-frank-manzanares-fue.html

Anyone have any knowlength with Dr. Frank Manzanares?
