Hello, I have a few moles located on my face that I would like removed. Fortunately, they are not cancerous, I would simply like them removed for cosmetic purposes. I don't know the technical terms, so you'll have to forgive me, but they don't protrude. They are basically flush with the rest of the skin on my face. I don't know much about mole removal surgery and the results that can be achieved, but is it possible to remove what is essentially a spot? If so, when this spot is removed, what kind of scar is left? Also, I live in Arizona. If someone could recommend a doctor here that would also be very much appreciated. Thank you, Soge

I'm not very familiar with the different Minoxadil products out there, but I was wondering if McNeil Rogaine was just as effective as 'regular' Rogaine. I say 'regular Rogaine,' because I assume McNeil Rogaine is a generic brand. Thanks, Sogeking

Hello everyone, I don't know if this is an appropriate board/place to ask this kind of question, but I wasn't sure where else to ask. Currently, I'm living in Japan, and I would like to order a three-month supply of the Rogaine foam, but to have it shipped here would cost $150! I then thought it would be cheaper to have it sent to my parents' house, and then have them ship it here. I'm not familiar with shipping things in general (let alone abroad), so I went to the USPS's homepage to see how much it would cost. When 'creating a package' to estimate the cost, I'm only asked to enter the item's value; not weight. Anyway, to have it shipped this way would cost about $80. I couldn't believe it. The Rogaine foam weighs 1.25 pounds. Could it really be that much to ship such a small/light item? I was thinking that I could just order three three-month supplies. Then, the shipping only amounts to $150, or so. Anyone have any advice, or suggestions? Thanks, Soge

I recently came to the realization that I was losing my hair, so you'll have to forgive me for my ignorance, and lack of understanding regarding correct terminology. I was told I was a diffuse thinner (see my pics here: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/174961-am-i-good-candidate-hair-transplant-surgery-pics.html). Currently, I am living in Japan, but I may not be after a few months (next is maybe Spain). I don't know how prescriptions work, so I don't know if I'll be able to reliably get Propecia after I leave Japan. I understand that Minoxidil is sold over the counter, so I'm sure any pharmacy almost anywhere you go will sell it. Currently, I'm not on or taking anything. I just don't want to start taking Propecia, and then have to stop after only a few months (that would be a waste). I was told by a member of this board that there may not be any real benefits of taking only Minoxidil, as a diffuse thinner. I understand that taking Minoxidil in conjunction with Finastride is best, but I'm concerned it may not be an option for me. So, my question is basically this; Would it be worth it for me to take only Minoxidil? Thanks, Soge

I see your point. I just wanted to avoid taking any medication/drugs. It's not like I have any particular problem with Propecia. I don't even take aspirin! If it would maximize the results of a hair transplant, I would definitely be keen on getting on it, though. Thanks again Future. I sent a survey/request to one of the listed doctors, and will wait to hear back from them. Also, could you explain what a 'diffuse thinner' is? I'll look into getting some Minoxidil. I can order some and have it sent here, but I actually have a friend who is a pharmacist (in Japan), so I'll see if he can hook me up. Surely they must have it here.

Thank you for the prompt reply. No, I'm not using any preventative treatments. I would like to avoid them (if possible). Would you be able to tell me if I could pick up Rogaine or Propecia in Japan, by any chance? I certainly would not be opposed to traveling somewhere for surgery. I'll do some research and try to find a suitable doctor. Given what you have seen from my pictures, do you think surgery would be right for me? Thanks again, Jeremy

Greetings friends, I just joined the forum (after lurking for a week or so) and this is my first post. I am 28 years old, and I recently came to the realization that I am losing my hair (still hard to say...). I was pleasantly surprised to see how fair surgical methods have come regarding hair loss, though, and I was wondering if hair transplant surgery would be right for me. I classified myself as a Norwood IV, but I don't know if that's accurate. I took some pictures to show how far my hair loss has progressed. If some of the knowledgeable members of this board could give me their thoughts I would really appreciate it. I feel that when my hair is dry, my hair loss isn't so noticeable (which is why I probably didn't notice until recently). So, I included pictures of both wet and dry hair. My crown seems to be thinning, and I'm also experiencing loss on both the right and left sides of my forehead area. I don't know if my hair loss has progressed far enough to warrant surgery. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, I live in Japan, and was wondering if anyone knows of any doctors who do hair transplant surgery here. Thank you for your time and help, SogeKing
