  1. My initial consultation with Dr. Keene, My first observation was that Dr. Keene didn't have a high-pitched style office in Tucson Az., no waterfalls, nor cappuccino machines. The staff that I saw and met were all professional, friendly, and courteous. I first discussed the basics in HT procedures, including Propercia and FDA approved medication with Gail. She walked me through my questions that I had written down, and answered all of them that she could. My underlying thought prior to the consultation was that I wouldn't have the donor hair needed to accomplish a natural hairline and to fill in around my old plugs. (Dr. Keene had originally e-mailed within two days of me sending pictures of what she thought would work for me in my particular situation.) Then Dr. Keene came in and showed and described in detail how the first procedure with Puig was done. She examined my donor region, then drew a line about 1cc in front my existing hairline, then tied it in to the temporale sides of my head. In the first 1cc of my new hairline, she would implant single hairs, about 30 per cc, then around and in back of my original transplants, 2-4's would be added, about 20 additional per cc( in addition to my original ones). I stated to her that I knew that I would only have on shot at another restorative surgery, and she agreed. My wife and I thought that 2000 graphs would be needed to do the job, unfortunately, I might not have the donor hair to accomplish this. Dr. Keene said that she could harvest 1500-1800 graphs, but couldn't guarantee 2000. It was then agreed upon to start at the front and work backwards, to whatever point that will be,(pending on the amount of donor graphs that can be removed). After the consultation, My impressions of the doctor are as follows: Professional, honest, personable, courteous and dedicated. She diagnosed my situation, knew what she had to work with and was honest with her evaluation. Since her first opening for a procedure is two months away, it seems apparent that other patients think so to. I know that my situation is a little different then most of the HT cconsumers. I simply have 10-12 year-old transplant baggage that may not be amendable to " the perfect head of hair." In the final analysis, I'm very comfortable with my decision to ask Dr Keene to do my last procedure that my donor site will afford- Bonzo

  3. Robert and Smoothy, Thank you for your positive feed back on Dr. Keene, so far no one is coming forth with any negative comments. I posted the same question on " the other major hair loss help forum', 22 people looked at the posting, but no one replied. I know that I'm sort of a new comer to posting, but I assume all of us interested in our hair loss would want to "help" each other out! Anyway, in five days I'll have my own questions answered to this most important topic when I have a consultation with Dr. Keene. I will post my observations and results of that consultation, on both sites, as I believe that the word "help" apparently stands for something that the participants of that site seem to be oblivious to. I know that with my previous Puig procedures my impede on me attaining a perfectly natural hairline. But by late Monday, I believe that I will an honest answer to what I think everyone viewing these forum's are looking for-Bonzo.
  4. Mr. Invisible, I've got the same questions that you've posted, only a little east of you. You can view my original posting and HT history that I made in late December. Personally, I think that Dr. Keene in Tucson Az. is the one to turn to. I have a consultation with her in mid January, and will post after that with my experiences of the consultation. Also, I e-mail her with a brief history of myself, and attached photos, and she e-mailed me back within a day or two with her initial thoughts of what she could do for me! Speaking from experience of two HT in the past, the Puig doctor spoke to me for two minutes before the procedure started, I guess back then that a consultation with the patient was a waste of their time. Anyway, Dr. Keene's website is located at www.hairrestore.com. I'm sure that if she responded to me in such a timely manor, she would do the same thing for you.
  5. Hello, I must first admit that I've been reading all of the post written on this site, without asking any questions. Well, I'm finally going to ask one! First, my condensed history of my hair restoration is that; In 1992, and 1994 I had two procedures done the Puig Clinic in Chicago. 400 punch graphs were added to my bald front. The plugs were elongated, not round consisting of 7-10 hair per graph, so I feel fortunate in this regard. Also, they cut out the donor stip from the back of my scalp, and just not plucked out of back of my skull, thus not leaving me severe scaring issues. The incisions are unnoticeable, and I've never had a problem with them, another benefit guessing on what has been written about Puig in this Forum. I've now gotten the go ahead by best half to look into my possibly last procedure, and that is to finally have a " natural hairline". Based on the posts here and observing several other web sites, I've concluded that Dr. Keene is " One of the best" surgeons to do this procedure. Please, I'm asking for feed back either positive or negative on Dr. Keene, not for personal insults or personal preferences regarding hair transplant theories. I'm more interested in facts at this point regarding her credentials and ability to restore a " Natural Hairline" . I have scheduled a consultation with her in January, and I would like to know if I've missed anything in my internet investigation to this point. Thank you in advance for your response to my most sincere question.
