  1. That's the key for me, the bit in bold. This is a very nice forum btw, lots of useful information. Yeah I imagine the longer you keep taking it and then stop, there is a lot of "catching up hair loss." I always had a hairline which went high around the corners, it kind of sucked as it looked receding before it even began! Lucky minoxidil is cheap these days too. It's mainly for baldness at the crown but I have frontal loss and even if it helps a little bit would be nice. There are a few lose strands still at the front and I hope the rest of the dormant follicles are still capable of producing hair. Say in 10 years I was to have a hair transplant do you think the doctor would tell you to stop taking any hair loss meds before hand? As how would he gauge how much hair you truly have in order to give you the best transplant. If anyone has any more patient experiences on minoxidil please feel free to add them.
  2. Hi everyone I recently bought Minoxidl but not sure whether to take it, mainly due to fear of healthy hairs becoming dependent on it? i.e the ones that were not going to perhaps shed for like another 10 years or even back and sides maybe. I am almost 29 and Norwood 2 but in really good lighting I can see the crown looks thinner otherwise it's not noticeable. Hair loss is stable, mainly a receding hairline but it's been like that for years. A few hair strands left around the front (over 10) which I cut. I am almost a doctor and have an idea of the different treatments, side effects and efficacy. My main concern is this dependency fear? Since my loss seems stable I feel like delaying minoxidil use. Don't want to take oral finasteride. Would be nice to hear from people who have had minoxidil for many years. I know you lose your gains if you stop and revert back to your MPB but wondering whether me taking it now will accelerate process.
