wow .. 7k grafts used and 1800 more in bank ! FUT in first surgery surely helped you a lot.

great results so far. please give us an update.

and one question that if you were doing your first HT now then would you have done FUE or FUT ? to avoid the scar maybe

I'm not sure to be honest. At the time I think FUT was 100% the best option for me to get the coverage I needed. That was in 2014 though and FUE has come on leaps and bounds since. If I was in the same position in 2023 I'd probably go the FUE route with a top surgeon to avoid the strip scar as you say.

I'd like to try get some hairs implanted into that scar now so assessing my options for a 3rd surgery, also assessing my bank balance 😅

  2. Apologies for the lack of update, I've been enjoying the summer and not thinking about my hair, which is a good sign I guess 😀

Final update, 14 months on. All pictures taken in natural light with no fibres in (just a bit of suncream!). Thrilled with the outcome, Dr. Pinto is a master of his craft. I may go for a final pass in future, not 100% sure yet but it's not a top priority for me in any case.

Looks good.  Crown coverage is tough huh 😁 I think we had surgery dates very close to each other w/ Pinto. I've seen improvement/refinement since December, I'm sure you're seeing the same.

Yeah the crown is a lot slower to grow than the rest! At least I can use fibres on it now, which wasn't really possible before as the hair was getting too sparse! Hoping it will continue to fill in a bit more in the coming months.. but won't rule out another touch up either 😂

How's it going? I had surgery with Pinto the week before you and everything is already coming in so fast for me. Amazing doctor.

Apologies for delay, super busy with work lately, and just glad really in the last month to be out of the ugly duckling phase 😂

Agreed Pinto is top class, I think I'm seeng some growth now as well. These were taken just after the 3 month mark, I think the 4 month update will show some more filling in.. fingers crossed!

  5. 5mg for the last 3 months post surgery (Just reading all the replies here this dosage seems high, should i reduce it to 2.5mg I wonder?). Only sides I've noticed are hairier hands/fingers! Results wise I think I've just started to notice some early growth lately, could be related or not to the oral minox. it's hard to know. I'll post picture updates on my thread once I get a trim this weekend 😀

    Any updates?

Does anyone know where i can get the blood tests done dr bruno pinto needs 2 months before surgery in the UK? Im looking online but i cant find anywhere thay covers all the tests and the blood clotting tests

    Thanks.

Not UK but in Ireland so it might be a similar process. I went to a medical centre with a GP to get them done. I emailed them beforehand to make sure they covered all the blood tests required and then it was a 5 minute consult with the GP there on the day followed by a nurse taking the bloods. The total cost was 75 euro

Yeah, that's really impressive and i hope so. Regarding the white hairs, i think the follicles get traumatised and lose their colour. I genuinely think this happened to myself and to others.

The density thing however for you is awesome and genuinely hope it all grows in for you. I'm also hoping when mine grows in that it blends and looks dense enough.

I have heard this before as well that transplanted follicles can lose colour from the surgery. Is this permanent do you know or can they regain colour as they grow out?

I’m blown away by the fut scar konior left. I don’t think I’ve seen a bad or even “average” fut scar from him as of yet.

i see claims that some end up with wider scars because of physiology but I think that’s BS. Fut scars are a result of the surgeons skill (unless we are talking about someone who has had 3+ futs and there’s very limited elasticity.)

Could not have a single complaint about Dr. Koniors work or the fut scar alright. It's as thin as it can get, and my own childhood scars are worse 😂

I'm still really tempted to get some grafts into the scar in future, but that's just the hair greed talking!
