  1. Hi,

The clinic have responded to my 10 month update and have conceded again that the result is not what they would like and are asking me to book in again at my convenience. i have informed them that i have no intention of booking in with them again as i do not wish to entrust them with my VERY limited donor. I have asked for a refund and will update the thread with their response.

    Sunnycool3,

I do not use propecia, only use minoxodil. The clinic was aware that i could not use it due to the side effects i suffered last time.

  2. Man, it sounds like your whole experience with this clinic has been really below par. 4500 grafts in one session (8 hrs), when it should have been over two days, smacks of the clinic trying to churn out as many patients as possible $ > patient. Judging by your experience and results so far, I think the clinic has got a lot to answer for and unless there is a dramatic improvement in the next three months, I would be seeking some sort of refund for sure. Very concerning the massive disparity between patient posted results on HRN and the results the clinic presents.

    FUE2014,

I gave the clinic the benefit of the doubt beforehand thinking I will see how the results turn out. 10 months in and I am very disappointed. I could not recommend this clinic to anyone and can not argue with your comments above. Today is the first time I have voiced my disappointment to the clinic about this poor result.

  3. 25cm2 in the frontal is not enough to give even a close definition of density if you do a search on fu per cm2 you will see its got to be mid 40s minimum.

    Hi gibbsville,

Considering how poor the density is in the hairline, i'd go along with that. The hairline has been the biggest disappointment - they've lowered it without any real density.

  4. I wouldnt be happy with this either, what has the clinic said?

Ive seen a few patient posted threads from this clinic who have had poor results yet the clinic presents very good results, I prefer to follow the patients progress, thanks for updating, your a credit to the forum , do you have any plans on having another procedure?

    Hi Yonex,

Sorry for the slow reply. The clinic has already admitted the result is not what they would have hoped for. They have offered another surgery 'free' but there is no chance I am going back to them with the very limited donor I have left. I do have plans for another surgery to strengthen the hairline but only a small number of grafts. Not sure when I will do this, may well wait a while to see how may hairloss progresses so I make the best use of the remaining grafts I have left.

  5. 7 months is too early to press the panic button I hope things turn around for you.

4500 fue grafts in 8 hours are you sure that can be true that is 480 minutes which means 9.37 grafts per minute punched, extracted, recipient incision made and implanted.

That's some going, how many people in total were working on your head at one time?

That's correct. I was in and out of consciousness but recall atleast two people at any one time working on me.

  6. I have heard back from the clinic regarding my progress and they have accepted that the results are not what they would expect for 7 months. They have already mentioned a free HT if the results are still lacking by 12 months - not exactly filling me with much confidence. They've also mentioned washing my hair 2-3 times a day which is highly impractical and surely not what should be expected to be done by the 7 month stage?

  7. i would tell you not to fret,i had a procedure last year in september with hakan, and i could say that i'm going on 13 months from the first one,and i'm seeing appreciable visible growth now,so i will give it a complete 2 year timeline before saying if it's a failure.I am presently in shockloss from this years procedure, and i am seeing growth from last year.

Thanks for the reassurance, it's good to hear that you're still seeing growth from the first procedure. I've been reading your thread - good luck with your growth!

  8. It's saddens me to say this, but it does not look very good for 8 months. I mean 4500 grafts, u should have a lot more coverage. Have u contacted ur dr.

It's actually only 7 months. I have emailed them my pictures today and have requested Dr Hakan comment on them as I am disappointed with the results so far. Hope to hear back from him in the next couple of days

  9. Thanks for posting, I hope it works out for you, and I would suggest experimenting with different hairstyles, such as cutting the sides very short to lessen the contrast with the top. In addition, do you have photos of your donor? I think many would be interested in seeing what the donor looks like after 5k grafts are taken out.

I think it is ok to get surgery done....but I don't think 5000 fue graft procedures have been successful. I think there was a reason that Demirsoy said to take 12 month breaks, I doubt other surgeons like Bisanga or Lorenzo would have ever done 5k grafts on consecutive days.

If you want to move a lot of grafts in one setting, FUT is the way to go.

I had a consultation with Dr Lorenzo last year in Manchester and he would not consider such a large session and was willing to do no more than 3,000 grafts. From my results so far, i'm beginning to think a smaller FUE session may have been the way to go.

I didn't take any donor pics this month but did take one at the 6 month mark which I included in the 6 month update post. I will take it again next month.

Thanks for the suggestion on the hairstyle. I have actually just cut my hair to 4.5 on top and 2.5 on the sides a few days ago to help the contrast. The longer it grows out, the less good it looks and also allows me to apply the rogaine better.

  10. when i read your thread i realized that maybe for high NW 5-6 its really a bad idea to undergo surgery unless you implant at least 8000 grafts

this thread totally blew my confidence in FUE for nw 5-6 with a supply of 4500-5000 grafts

I think i should look back into hair systems or micro pigmentation as whats the use of having your own hair grow out but not achieving a good looking hair style

i am not discouraging you but I feel that your honest share of results should be an awareness for many other that get unrealistic results from hair clinics or patients that were just a lucky few with good results.

i hope you will have a great result in the end, but your thread is leading me into deep thinking what path shall i choose

    Hi,

I would agree with this, also that perhaps large FUE sessions may not be the way to go. Unfortunately, when you're desperate to restore hair you look at the odd successful large session and think it will apply to you.

I had accepted I would need a second HT to get decent coverage but I won't be getting the 8,000 you mention above. Apparently I have 1,500 from my donor area and another 1,000 from the beard area.

  11. Unfortunately, nothing to report at this stage - not seen much or any improvement for the last few months but I am staying positive that the next 4-6 months will be more positive.

I got a haircut since my last update, grade #4 a couple of weeks back, and have started using minoxidil to see if it can help kick start any growth. I was on it for quite a while a couple of years back but the results subsided in the end and I stopped. Can't see myself using this in the long term at present, but for the short term to help growth I will keep with it.

  12. Hi, Sorry for the slow reply. I've been away on holiday and to be honest I try not to log on as much - helps keep me my mind off of it.

    Falco123,

Thanks and best of luck with your growth. Hopefully the 6-12 month mark will be good to the both of us. Sometimes looking at the results online posted by the clinics can give you unrealistic expectations about time frames - perhaps they are just the lucky few!

Are you on medication? I started rogaine today after previously being reluctant to having been on it for a number of years previously and seeing the results subside, but the clinic keeps recommending to use it, so I will give it another shot at least and see if it kick starts any growth.

    Dutch / Cueball35,

Thanks for the reassurances. Been thinking about it less recently which has been positive. Was on holiday last week and the photos to say the least did not come up well - some shots it looked like I had a slick bald head under natural sunlight :(. I decided to shave my hair down to a #4 grade a couple of days back which is just easier to manage and apply the rogaine.

I will definitely keep the thread updated with monthly updates. I know how invaluable threads which are regularly updated can be - too often people just disappear without you ever seeing the end result. 6 month update pics will be posted next weekend.

  13. 4 days short of my fifth month and little to report, the growth has stagnated in the last couple of months with the clinic saying I am still in the hock loss phase. The hairline in particular is looking weak but here's hoping for improvement in the next couple of months. I got my hair cut to a grade 6 on top a few weeks back so the hair is shorter than the last couple of updates and I have added a couple of wet hair shots.

  14. 4,500 grafts in one day?! Wow. I'm a bit apprehensive about ultra-large FUE sessions in one day but if I see consistently good results with them, I'll happily change my mind!

Those concerns about the procedure feeling rushed are very valid. 4,500 grafts in only 8 hours? I'm having a hard time believing this. Certainly the whole procedure was not finished in 8 hours?

    Hi Mickey,

The surgery have updated their website where they state that a 4,000-4,500 FUE session will take 6-7 hours.
