  1. Hello everyone! It's been quite some time since i have posted! I've been EXTREMELY busy with work and many other things. It's been a little over 13 months and everything is going great. I am to now going to start growing my hair out as i have kept it short for the past year. I will start to post pictures 1 month from today to show the progress of my growth, i assure you it's night and day, i actually have hair! Thanks again to Dr. Ron and team, i will be contacting Matt soon to talk about a second procedure (yes i'm greedy) in the next few months!

  2. It's really up to the individual, each persons situation will be different, it was very easy for me, my close friends all knew as i confided in them and they all supported me 110%. Although it did take me around a month to feel comfortable again, i am currently 4 months and 2 weeks post-op (i know i need to post pics) and this is the time i have received the most questions and looks as my hair is growing like crazy.. So if someone says something it usually is in the form of a compliment! And i am a very positive person so i just try not to worry to much about it.. Hope this helped a little

  3. Jim,

I understand your frustration, i talk to and help people in tough situation in reagrds to seeking employment in a field that they will LOVE. My advice choose a job you love and if you cannot find one, look into going back to school, it's a great time to do that for many! In regards to your hair and a HT, TAKE YOUR TIME! Research and then research more, if it takes you 1-2 years thats ok! Best of luck!

  4. Hi John!

My advice, take deep breath and relax, i am at 4 month post-op and starting to grow like crazy, but nowhere near where i will be at 18 months, everything will turn out great for you just relax and try not to stress and worry about it, honestly i really haven't even given my HT much thought until recently when i started to notice more and more growth at 3.5 months and i'm still not really looking to much into it. We are all here to support you! And Kaounis, i pocket dialed you yesterday on accident! Sorry about that and how are you doing my friend?

  5. Hi everyone been gone for awhile, had quite a bit going on, all is well at the 3 month mark, just taking proscar and using rogaine foam and relaxin! I actually can say i have not stressed one bit in regards to my transplant it's not a sprint it's a marathon! that being said i will start posting pics at the 4 month mark and every month after! I have been keeping my hair pretty short and it is almost impossible to bee my scar with a number 2 cut.. i am going to just let it grow at the 4 month mark and go from there! any questions feel free to reach out to me! thanks

  6. All is going well at the 1 month mark, shedding etc.. no major issues at all as far as ithcing dry scalp or pimples etc.. i keep my hair pretty short right now so no one has really noticed lately at all they can kinda see the scar but really don't comment on it! 6-18 month mark here we come! Hey i have been only using Rogaine 1 time a day is there an issue with that? if so i will bump it up!

  7. Hi everyone, feeling good actually got to take a nice shower today and gently massage the area with my finger tips and quite a few of the little (all scabs are very small)scabs came off nice and easy! No hairs came out which is great LOL. Off all the meds, take a few advil here and there which helps the donor area. But overall pretty good a little tight in the donor area and it gets a little uncomfortable sometimes but it is tolerable without meds, just keeping my mind busy and it keeps it off of donor. Quick question, is it an issue since i am off all the meds if i have 2-3 beers today, it is the 4th!

  8. Vince hair,

Dr. Shapiro had pics taken throughout the entire procedure donor removal and everything, i am kinda waiting to post those and see if it will be alright with Janna and Matt and the Doc (i don't have them yet) but i agree it's important for people to fully understand the entire procedure! It's an envasive surgery when done by a top doc all (99%) of the time will be great!

  9. So far so good! First few days were uncomfortable but it has slowly gotten better.. Feel very lucky in regards to the Swelling, knock on wood on day 4, Love the result just hte the fact that it is the 4th and i'm kinda stuck LOL! icon_rolleyes.gif But i will continue to relax and i actually have stayed pretty active as in walking and stuff which has kept my mind off the pain.. im still very careful but it's just about 5 days and it is starting to feel better! don't really need the pain meds right now (just at night) and just about 3/4 away thru the graphcyte they gave me to use.. And i am on Proscar (just started a month or so ago) so hopefully that will help the crown! If this can be one and done great! It's going to be a journey for the next year and we shall see from there, maybe some crown work, maybe some FUE to touch up and add some more density. Please everyone keep in touch it, this place has really helped me! Now it's time to help others also! Thanks everyone

  10. Having an issue with my laptop hi hope this coere so mes thru ok, all is going well! Dr. S and team were great! I will do my best to keep everyone posted and update pic etc.. Typing above is crazy laptop is being funny, thanks everyone for your support and i will be doing a full write up as soon as i feel a little better kinda worn down! LOL Jana you guys were amazing all of you! Don't ever let anyone tell you guys different! Boy do those day after pics look rough! You can tell it was a long day the day before..

  11. I though about this in detail before i went to my procedure, i had Dr. Shapiro give me 2 extra surgiacal hats (the net looking things) so instead of wearing a hat i wore one of those in the airport so when i went thru security they knew right away that i had some sort of surgery done, they actually seen me and ushered me to the front in Minneapolis (the peoplein line and the TSA people) And they really cannot see anything under the surgical cap and never asked me to remove it..

  12. Doing well thanks, long procedure just under 5000 graphs and around 10,000 hairs, my laxity was really really good.. Doc is GREAT, just knows how to take care of you, i can honestly say i have NEVER visited a better Dr. than Dr. Shapiro, just was a blow away experience the techs were all great, not just skilled but great people also.. Right now i have not needed a Vicoden today the pain has subsided i have a tiny amount of swelling, trying to curve that with Ice packs, no bleeding from the donor area last night which was very nice.. Just a little uncomfortable but it has gotten better each day so far (only been 2)
